Best music app? - G Tablet General

Don't really care for the stock android player in tnt lite. Anyone have any tips for other music players that work on this rom?

I do believe that Power Amp has knocked the others away from the top of the hill. Best current audio app, IMO.

Cool thing is they did a good job with the interface too

Power Amp won't run. It does an initial folder scan and then closes.

It's running on mine right now. Did you set the music folder?

[REQ] Apple headphone control protocol for stock music player

My GF just got me the Bose MIE2i earbuds for Christmas [which have the inline control for Apple devices] and I want to use them w/ my Evo...
They currently have no function with the HTC stock player, I know the Music Mod app exists but it only supports Play/Pause [no volume] AND I want to retain the HTC stock player [I'm an big fan of the OEM appearance and such]...
Basically, anyone know of an app that could just pass commands between headphones and stock music player? Any ideas on how difficult such an app would be to write?
Are you on the stock rom? I though this was included in the stock ROM.
Man... I was going to buy some new headphones soon... If it doesnt work, im gonna be pissed.

Any good music players out?

I cant stand the regular music player.. its horrible... is there a better player like the galaxy s or sense music player available... I have the latest darkslide 4.2 rom and this will put my phone over the top

try miui music. that seems to be all the rave. I personally love the 2.2.1 com.android.music.apk... but don't know if its compatable with droid x.. can be found in the eris forums under development/froshedyo/version 7. long press volume to skip tracks but a similar UI just no visuals so it runs smooth

Doubletwist with AirSync.
PowerAmp. Best player out now, sound is terrific, and the EQ allows for audio tweaking to fit anyone's taste. Costs 4.99 in the market, but is definitely worth it if you care how your music sounds.

+1 More for PowerAMP.
Lithium user here...and I personally love it.
The UI was just so original that I had to have it. I even went through the trouble of asking the dev to put it up on SlideMe market...as my bank won't allow charges in a foreign currency.
*OT*
Goddamn market...I swear...please convert currency FOR ME so my bank allows me to buy foreign applications...Too many times; I've wanted an app...but had to pirate it because it wasn't in the market or SlideME.
Player Pro (Paid) or Lithium Player (Paid). I hate the stock android player - no intuition whatsoever. I hate Apple products but the iPod/Phone music player is very nice.
I didn't hate the stock music player, but I downloaded the "leaked 2.3 music player apk" and I love the look and feel to it. With that app open, it feels like I am on an actual mp3 player and not a phone.

Glad to hear it. Mine worked amazing up until changing a few phone files for theme-ing. Now my music skips when running in the background if I'm doing any type of navigation on my phone (scrolling through apps, looking through facebook) Have you run into anything like that with the leaked app?

I've noticed this. Also, tons of forcecloses with the honeycomb music app.
One of the forum members on this site leaked a new motorola media player, its been reviewed on several droid blogs to be great, but apparently Motorola made him take it down.

[musicplayer] neutron player

Hi guys, any audiophiles here like me?
This music player has terrible interface. Basic functions doesn't work too well. BUT!!!
OMG the sound quality of this player is mind blowing. I really mean it. SGS and voodoo is known for it's SQ. However, despite it sounds clear, the sounds is not precise and out of place by an inch. Was a voodoo + equalizer app + poweramp fan and still am cuz of interface but i can forsee an android music player to better poweramp! Assuming this music player gets developed nicely. Give it a try guys and if you like the SQ, show dev some support just by rating etc.

Type neutron in search and it will come up.
I checked this out last week, but just couldn't stand the UI and layout of it... If it had more polish and a neater/more attractive UI I would use it.

does indeed sound good but I feel Power Amp sounds just as good as it. both these sound better than Winamp and Ttpod but jt is just so ugly and unresponsivd too. button presses most times dont work, setting up a playlist on first start sucks as it just does not acction button presses and if you minimise program then go back to it it changes song automatically. good sound quality though, sorry, only positive i can think of. using Xperia MiUi 2.2.1

I suppose sound is very subjective and also depends on the headphones you use as well the phone you use. On SGS, neutron definitely widens soundstage with better sound separation whilst keeping the sound crisp and clear. Sure poweramp is clear but the sound is everywhere. Also with that filtering of highest frequency on neutron, the sound feels very calm to listen to as well as having the "fun" sound from general boost the app gives to SQ.
However as you said and as i said on OP sq is the only pro atm but any audiophiles would (or should ) use it just for that reason like i do

will give this another try i guess, was happy with the sound, using earphones that came with my old Sony. Ericsson w980, very strong sound from them. sound is great from the player but to purchase would be nice to know there is refinement of the ui planned. cheers
Another "good sound, bad UI" app is Rockbox. It has not been announced as "useable" yet, but many reports that it works fine. And I think it has more sound tweaking features than Neutron. It would be interesting to hear an audiophiles comparison between these two.

Light-weight music players? (battery-wise)

Music player and Display are my biggest uses on battery. Display is already set to lowest setting, so I'm wondering if I can improve on the music player side. All I need are the basics: shuffle, repeat, albums.
Currently using Valhalla 1.2, stock music player.
Look for my stock music player on the second or third page of the galaxy s 4g themes and apps section. It is the stock GB music player, it works great and is better looking.
uber music is pretty good

I actually use Miui now. It doesn't seem to use much less battery than Music Player, but at least the controls work on the lock screen.
Unfortunately, the battery issue seems to be a problem with Android in general. Rather disappointing compared to my iphone, but not much I can do.
BTW, the battery life on KI1 sucks. I am sure they are fixing the problem.

Hmm... I kind of noticed that, but I thought it was just a battery calibration thing. I guess I'll flash back for now and see if it helps.
Thanks!

Best Music Player in terms of Battery

Hey so I listen on average about 2-3 hours of music per day and for whatever reason, all my music players drain my battery like crazy, around 10% for every 30-60 minutes. I do have an equalizer enabled but I don't feel like it should be consuming so much power. As of now, I have been using PowerAmp, MIUI player, Google Music, Winamp, and the stock HTC player. Any suggestions?
I like CM9 music player. I don't use it as frequently as you though and haven't really tested it in terms of drain.
I think the screen on uses way more battery, if you after constantly shuffling tracks.

I'm not usually switching between tracks too much and I have my screen brightness down so I think it's more of the actual music player's fault than the screen.
