[leaked] dk17 - Epic 4G Android Development

Alright no one asked for it but here you go, here is a few files i have from dk17, first one being the modem, you can flash this just like the dk05 one in odin. i do not know if it fixes anything but here it is. i am not releasing the tar file as it contains employee info, i am working on uploading and creating a zip of the /system folder
modem.bin
http://tinyurl.com/dk17shabby
big props to the following people:
kain203 for hosting the /system.zip
dameon87 for being a cool guy and helping out.. (btw people check out his quantum rom its super cool, should be working on the flashable dk17 based version)
noobnl for all his help and support
the various leakers out and about somewhere out there

Flashed + confirmed working and legitimately DK17.

Thanks. Was wondering when this was gonna pop up.

Why is it that people think there is an employees name on the tar file? There isn't just the name of the machine and person that compiled it. No sprint employee are named in it.

You're wrong skeeter. They selectively recompile the exact same package just to add the name of an employee in order to compromise his identity. It's plain obvious.

either way, what good would the tar serve you? your getting /system, you have the modem posted above and you guys already had teh kernel... what else do you need????

They want a diaper change, someone to flash it on their phone for them. then port a leaked version of honeycomb. all that whilst getting a blowjob.

now only if someone can make this flashable with clockwork for ppl that arent at home near a computer would be great! .... I know im dreaming, guess i will have to wait till tonite!

i dont need a pit file do I to try this?

updated teh main post

(maybe not the best choice for my second post... i'll do better on my third)

I like having the tar file for the simple fact that I'm lazy. I'm already gonna use odin for the modem so flashing a rom and or kernel is an extra step or two...please think about releasing it to us.
Edit: hope I'm not sounding ungrateful, thanks for what you released so far

I'm not saying everyone wants the tar (although some do prefer it), I just want to point out the fact that there is no personal data whatsoever included in any release, or any other compromising information.

[SPL] ENG-SPL for the CDMA Hero

Hey guys, thought i'd like to distribute something Toastcfh and i have had for quite some time. its an Eng Spl.
now you may be asking what that is. its pretty much the most awesome dev tool ever! it enables s-off in the bootloader so you can use fastboot and other crazy stuff. so it kinda makes dev'ing easier if trying to resolve a bootloop or kernel panic. I'll give a better explanation when i get back home tonight. so without further ado, here you all go

Humm im on 8242010 nightly, after flashing this sprintVVM fcs. Interesting. Perhaps an APK signing issue? I'll grab a logcat then resign the apk and see what happends.
No idea why, but I rm'ed the apk from /system/app, and killed all traces of it in /cache, and /data/data. Then copied the apk manually using root explorer, set permissions and rebooted and now all is well. Probably just a fluke!

LMAO.
Darch can confuse people quickly.
Usually I flash whatever Darch posts but this... This scares me =P It's not like a rom or root or even a CDMA Radio where if I screw up I can RUU back to stock... Or can I -_^
Anyways, I'll probably flash this tomorrow This doesn't effect Recovery or anything else correct? I am a mobile warrior so I do my nands and flashing without a PC =)
What does this enable me to do with my phone? Like can I make a flashable zip without the signing? Or does this make it easier to customize stuff?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
This allows you to flash an ***.img file to a specific partition on your phone without making a zip. You can also make a HERCIMG.zip (a zip with multiple images in it ie, system.img, data.img, boot.img, recovery.img) and flash that straight from hboot.
Again, if you don't know what you are doing you could SERIOUSLY f*** up your phone. This gives you all the power you need to flash the wrong thing and ruin your phone. But it is VERY useful if you know what you are doing.

You don't need the pit with the tar file.

This is a full Odin .tar -- no pit file needed.
Question: I had DK17 with Quantum ROM 1.5...I just flashed the .tar in Odin. No PIT file. I also unchecked F.Reset Time (I think thats what it said). I flashed correctly, right? I have 100% stock DK28 now, correct.
Also, is this the official Froyo build?
Everything seems to be working correctly. Rotation is still a tad slow though. Lock screen lag is 100% gone.

Sorry guys, didn't seen any other thread with the .tar (because it was deleted I guess). Got mine from a source and posted it. Didn't know anyone else posted it. This one is a little different anyway, because it doesn't require the victory .pit to work.

I think this AWESOME guy has insiders, because he's updating us as they get built...
Anyways, I still think it's awesome that we now KNOW we have GB builds.
Also, if you don't mind, can you pull the modem.bin out for me? My internet is being stupid and won't download the file, and I'd really like to see if there's any modem advantages (even though it's only one build difference, it could be different), signal strength, battery life, stuff like that.
This is awesome. Thanks man. I don't know how you're getting these leaks but they're great. Keeps my hopes for an official GB alive.
Man, more stuff for my to-do list... I'll at least do a comparison tonight to see if the modem has changed at all or the initramfs.

Same, I want to see if KI4 is any improvement over KI3.
All you have to do to get a CWM flashable modem is download the package, find the modem.bin file and swap it out with the modem.bin in another modem zip. I'd upload it but I don't know where to upload to. Hope that helps somebody.
It's like Christmas.
So... here's a pic of the speeds (I hate the fact that it's inverted, ugh.... anybody have a link to good ol' ShootMe?) The tests for this rom are the most recent 3. As you can see, there is a noticeable upload speed increase. It is also important that you guys know I kind of wimped out and installed the latest Infused with the modem and such from this ROM, so take that with a grain of salt. Hopefully this helps!

Could you list links to each modem individually along with the package. The package is nice and all, but I hate to have to download the entire package when a new modem comes out. Either that or dig through the leak thread for the first person to package it up. That is what made GTGs thread so amazing, having the individual link to each modem.
Update: tried KK1, got abysmal data speeds <.2 Mbps, KI3 is still king, followed by KJ2.

Which file is right?
So I searched around and found this thread while looking for the community kernel (old I know). But when I'm flashing this kernel, which of the files am I supposed to choose? I see a cert.sf, cert.rsa, manifest.mf, update-binary, updater-script, and then in the other folder a redbend_ua, and zImage...I'm kind of new to this Thanks for the help!
EDIT: I managed to figure out it was the zImage file. But my problem is that when I try to flash that, it takes a little while before it just tells me it failed to verify kernel (something along those lines) and then it doesn't flash it. Am I doing something brutally wrong? I already have CWM installed as per the video linked by the "Super Everything" thread on XDA. Could somebody maybe re-upload this kernel please?
Also, if I were to flash a different ROM, like say Serendipity VII, then do I still need to flash a kernel before hand? Or can I just download the ROM to my sdcard and install it with CWM? Thanks for the help!

I ran Serendipity as my first ROM, and ran it on my cappy also, to include my boys cappys
http://serendipityinfuse.weebly.com/index.html
Just follow the instructions on the above.
But if you want to try another ROM, you will have to go back to stock, well I had but I do on a regular bases...use this below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524081
Do not unzip the PDA_Community_Voodoo_Kernel_v8.tar.md5 file. Use Odin and because the file name starts with PDA, load it in the PDA slot and flash.
Bigjoe: So just to confirm, I can go straight from UCKH1 with cwm and rom manager and NO community kernel flashed to serendipity? All I have to do is put the file onto my phone and boot into CWM(mine usually goes into blue then I click reinstall packages and then it goes to green) and then wipe data and cache and then install the file from my sdcard? He isn't very clear in his instructions when he says just flash the rom as one step haha
Also, on the original topic, the file that was uploaded on minus at the to of this thread isn't a PDA tar file. It's the community kernel zip. So I was trying to flash it with sgs kernel flasher. Is that wrong?
