When I master clear with OOC, the phone will eventually reboot into recovery, format the sd, and then reboot back into the OS and go to the MTP USB connection screen, and I will see complete in green in the top left box of Odin, but the status bar will never completely fill, and the in the text area, it will just say Removed!!
I let it sit there for a minute, but nothing changes, and Odin never recognizes the phone again. I will see above removed something like "Thread Successful 1/1"
When I flash to stock, after the phone reboots, it'll take a minute or so, and then Odin will recognize the phone again and say Pass in a green box. I was wondering if this same thing was supposed to happen with Master Clear, or if what I am experiencing is normal.
To alleviate confusion, I do flash to stock before Master Clearing.

Alright, allow me to summerize to you guys the series of screw ups that happened in the day that I've had my captivate.
Basically, it's like this. I got this phone from my brother (it used to be his). Now when I got it, I began basically erasing his contents and setting up mine. The Phone is on the Cognition OS and everything seemed fine.
Now, when I tried to set up my google account, it said I had to do a factory reset, I did that. Then I realized the market place app was no longer there :/
I did another factory reset, still didn't help, and started looking around for info.
I told my buddy this and he said he could fix it. So he get's the update.zip for rooting the phone, sets it up on the SD card, and goes to root the phone normally. Except when he restarts the phone after, it doesn't go to the set up screen, so he just starts it normally and enters the setup screen by holding home+volume up+power.
Then he presses the reinstall packages, and the phone seems to get to work on the update pack...
Now, every time I turn on the phone the voice says "converting data partition to optimize extension four", turns off, then repeats.
I've looked up this problem and it seems to have something to do with voodoo, but the causes in the other cases the causes were different.
Can someone please help me out here? I've also tried doing a hard reset by holding the volume down button and pressing power, but nothing seems to take me to the recovery mode.
HELP.
Did you pull the battery during this our did you let it run? Should let it run.
Does your phone boot up at all?
At&t or rogers?
Do you have a windows pc with usb drivers installed?
What its your build number, located under battery, something like 1008?
Answer these questions and we can get you back up and running
-Well after he did the reinstall thing we let it run for like 15 minutes, then he pulled the battery out.
-The phone only shows the AT&T screen, say's the "converting data partition..." thing, then goes blank and does it again. I've let it run for like 10-15 minutes before having to turn it off because I couldn't have the speech going off.
-I have a windows PC, and but I'm not sure if I have the drivers installed. I have Kies installed and when I plugged the phone in before Kies could recognize the phone (though it wouldn't fully connect, it would just say "connecting" on the kies screen).
-The Model is SGH-I897, that's the only relevant thing I see under the battery, that good enough?
Thanks a lot.
No, your phone has a build, on phone under battery, the word build is not listed. Something between 1006-1012
If we are going to do this you need to be active, I can not wait 20 minutes in between responses
Sorry the internet kinda crapped out actually.
And I see a 1007 between the bar codes, that it?
Yes
Before we get started try this
Take battery, sim, ext sd our of phone
Plug usb into pc but not phone
Put battery back in
Hold volume up and down, while holding plug in usb
Screen should come on with android with shovel
You can pull the battery again
Confirm this happened
Yep, it happened.
It may be easier if we use gtalk, log in on your pc using google id, send me an invite [email protected]. This way we know when each other respond
Just sent u the inv

Have you gone back to stock and then reflashed? Seems like some files are getting corrupted. Because you have a voodoo kernel I would follow these steps. Make sure to back up.
1. Use Odin to flash a non vodoo kernel.
2. Flash stock rom and master clear
3. Reflash rom of choice if it is 2.2
3a. If you want 2.3 follow the tut on it.
4. Breath a sigh of releive lol
HOW I GOT MY [4G]ROOVE BACK:laugh:
0.) Make sure to have the back already removed from the phone, and read steps BEFORE starting the process of going through the next 15 steps [note: you will still be roaming, but fixed my data].
1.) Factory Reset via the Backup & Restore section of System Settings.
2.) Phone should Reboot on its own; manually Reboot if not.
3.) Dial *2767*3855# which will factory wipe the device [this includes ALL SD Card Data].
4.) When the phone begins to Reboot itself, watch for the blue LED indicator light to turn off.
5.) After the blue LED turns off, but before the phone begins to start up again, pull the battery out of the phone [ignore the warning that shows on the screen while wiping the device].
6.) Place battery back into phone, and hold Volume DOWN + Power + Home buttons until the phone boots into Download mode for use with ODIN [I used version 3.07].
7.) Using Odin, install root66's rooted stock via the PDA selection option [if this fails, try again - I personally had to do this 3 times].
8.) The phone will Reboot as soon as the ODIN flash completes, and it is likely that you will get stuck at the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE boot animation. When this happens, pull out the battery again.
9.) Once more, place battery back into phone, but now hold Volume UP + Power + Home buttons until the phone boots into the stock recovery [this looks much like CWM with some different options].
10.) Choose the option to Wipe Data, and then run the Wipe Cache Partition option second.
11.) Select the first option to Reboot System Now, and wait for the phone to boot [this WILL take some time, so please wait for the full process to be completed; if you see the boot animation screen dim the display or vibrates slightly after a bit of waiting, you are on the right path].
12.) Allow the phone to finish starting into the language selection screen, hit next now, and again when the Phone Activated screen shows.
13.) Now, press the home button to get to the stock launcher desktop, where you should see the roaming notification in the Status Bar.
14.) Open the Status Bar, and press the roaming notification. When asked to accept roaming, choose the option to always access [this should not cause you to incur charges for roam, if in the US].
15.) Wait a few minutes, and if everything worked for you as it did with me, data should be fixed.
:good::good::good::good::good:
Correct me if I'm wrong but your still showing "roaming" data correct?
Did you lose your IMEI or just odd data connectivity?

I am still roaming technically, but every time I lose 3G/4G, I do this and it comes back. The IMEI shows as 0 in settings, but Phone Info app shows it as it should. Very strange. I don't know about everyone else on here, but I went to 4 different stores, and they all told me I would need to go through the insurance and pay $100 to get a replacement for my 18 day old phone. I just posted this for anyone who want the functionality to work, and is still trying to hold out for an actual IMEI fix, since I figure a lot of non-developers out there such as myself know enough about their devices to be able to follow what I had done.

Somehow I have managed a binary count of 4, and I need to reset it to 0. For some reason my phone gets to the screen where it says "4G lte" with all of the rings expanding and stops, it doesn't boot any further, it just sits at that screen forever in a loop (I feel like this could be due to the binary count?). But anyways, since I don't have access to my phone I cannot use Triangle Away, so I was wondering if someone could please tell me how to reset it from the computer or in download mode. Thanks!

While I can't answer your specific questions in regard to the count..
It might be worth it to hook up to a PC with the USB cable and check out the logcat. Typically in a boot loop it'll be trying to do the same steps (and failing..) over and over again. Might be some very useful information there and the problem could be totally unrelated to what you suspect it is.
Another super ez option would be to simply restore your last known working nandroid backup..

Unfortunately I do not know how to use the logcat what-so-ever, so I wouldn't know what to look for, the loop only begins when it gets to the verizon rings, it's not restart the whole bootup, it just gets stuck at the last boot animation and never displays the homescreen, if I am making sense
As for restoring the most recent nandroid, my phone for some reason will also not boot into recovery mode, I can hold Volume Up+Power+Home to attempt it and it will show the Samsung Screen and the "Recovery Booting..." in the top corner, but the recovery mode never actually comes up, I just have to let go and then it restarts itself normally and gets up to the Verizon animation and loops there
Ok. So 14 days ago my wife and I both got S6's for Verizon from a local big box store. (yes, 14. Today is the last day I have to take it back.)
We took the OTA to OE2 and I was able to root both phones with PingPong. Everything was fine until yesterday. Her phone wasn't responding when a call was coming in, so she restarted it by holding in the power button. Now, when it boots up it goes to a black screen after showing the initial "Samsung Galaxy S6" screen. Nothing changes. There is a teal/blue pulsing LED that doesn't go away.
I can enter the recovery and wipe cache, factory reset, safemode, etc. I've tried all of those many times. I can enter download mode and use Odin 3.10.6 to reflash OE2 and it says "Pass". After rebooting, it goes to the "Android is upgrading" dialog and goes through and updates about 248 apps, and then changes to read "Starting apps." It won't go past that screen. I left it on that from 10pm last night until 6am this morning with no change. The battery eventually went dead (from 100%). I've tried Odin many times, and it passes every time.
What are my options? When booting, the padlock is unlocked and says "Custom". I'd really like to get rid of that so I can return it to today without problems. When in Download mode, the system status says "custom".
Please help!!
I've also tried using SmartSwitch on the PC, and it doesn't detect the phone.
Update: I'm trying an Emergency Recovery with Smart Switch. It's at 52% right now. I got a serial number from another S6 so it would allow the download/recovery process to start. It's kind of ridiculous you can't get the serial number for your device from anywhere but the settings page on the phone. (Note: not the IMEI, the actual SN). It's not on the box or back of the phone.
Ok, another update. Emergency Recovery didn't work. It finished, and said that it was successful, but didn't fix the issue.
I took the phone back to the place of purchase and they tried about everything that I had already tried. They ended up just replacing the phone. They said that they never saw this issue before.
I have almost an identical issue except I have not roOted or installed any custom ROMs everything is stock . The fingerprint scanner quit working today and said it required a restart, when I restarted the phone I'm experiencing exactly what you are a black screen and a blue pulsing light. In the stock recovery screen I've tried booting to safe mode USB debugging everything except the factory restore yet I think that is my last resort.
It started a few days ago, I was testing a cardboard/gear vr unity game and the screen would turn black but the buttons were responsive and I could get it to hard reboot or make it come back again after plugging it back into the gear. I looked around but couldn't find anything that resembles my issue.
Now as soon as it boots it goes into a black screen after samsung and carrier logos show, i sometimes get a glimpse of the lock screen and respond to some input.
The phone is still on, I can feel the battery warm.
-No response to any input. Not even pwr+vol down.
-PC won't detect it when plugged.
-No lights on charging.
-I need to let it fully drain for it to shut down and try anything again.
-Did a factory reset from recovery mode, wipe cache. Still the same.
-No root.
-There was an update that may have installed overnight but can't confirm because can't access system info.
EDIT: New find! when booting to recovery, goes into "Installing Update" and then "No command".
Any thoughts??
Is there some pc software that i can use to try to reinstall firmware? Something like SEUS for sony phones back in the day?
Is odin safe or should i look into a samsung official tool? I've never used odin so i'm not sure of it's capabilities (this is my first sammy phone, I had it to get to test gear vr apps)
Sorry for the long post but wanted to get all the info out there.
Thanks!
Can you enter "Download Mode"? (By rebooting and pressing HOME + VOLUME DOWN)
If yes, I suggest that you try, as you suggested, reinstalling your firmware.
You will have to know your carrier, or specific phone model (G930X, where X represents carrier letter (Example: T for T-Mobile) )
Modified Odin (by PrinceComsy): https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591023225177749
Then I suggest downloading firmware from https://SamsungBay.com as all other sources restrict download speed (So it takes a minimum of 13 hours).
https://samsungbay.com/download-firmware/?device=&model=sm-G930&firmware=
Once you have Odin and Firmware, load the correct files.
(AP_G930X), (BL_G930X), (CP_G930X), and (CSC_G930X) into Odin.
Power off phone, and boot into download mode (Pressing HOME + VOLUME DOWN)
N.B/ You will lose all your phone data, sadly, but it seems you've already wiped it.
