Hey guys,
I stupidly removed the original com.amazon.mp3.apk from my /system/app back when I first rooted the phone as I never needed it.
Now when I try to update it with the latest 44meg FRF91 update, it gets as far as verifying then fails saying it cannot locate that amazon mp3 apk.
I did download it frmo the market, save the app with Astro and then copy it back into the original /system/app folder but it still doesnt like it.
Could anyone post the original one or give me a pointer on the easiest way to fix this?
dude! i am having the same problem. I can't install FRG83... damn it! any idea??
im a bit confused ive searched all over android tablets and some posts on here about installing clock work mod , rooting and wifi tethering. i have a huawei ascend running cm7 that i would like to use to tether to my daughters coby 7022 tablet and ive tried a few tethering apps and it will not see my phone as a hot spot, ive been told i need to modify a file in root explorer and i need to be rooted to do this. so i downloaded the dump zip file as per your post here about clock work mod 4 and cm7 on these tablets. ive renamed it to update zip like i read but it says to move filt to root folder on sd card and the es file explorere wont let me move the file from the down load folder. second i cant seem to find where to download teh zip for the clock work mod recovery while reading the same post. so if i coudl get some assistance in finding that file and how to move these zips to teh root section to i can install clock work mod and root this that will get me started. lastly i could then use some direction of where to find this fild to modify to allow the androrid to android tethering. thanks !
My wife is one suffering from the market access issues with her Nook Color (rooted 1.3).
I have a Transformer, unrooted stock. I was curious if there is a way I can download APK files off of it and place them on to her nook? I searched through the file folders, but all I seem to be able to find are the apk files for the apps that came standard with the unit. The ones I installed from the market aren't there with the rest of them.
Can anyone point me at what to do?
-Brian
You can, try to use RootExplorer. The file will be definitely on the system partition. But just search these forums. APKs of the Market are avilable for download.

Apps download from market is store in data/app. You can't access those folder without being root.
You can try and pull them using ADB.
I'm not sure if it work for non root TF but try Astros file explorer.
There's an option to backup app. I use it on my phone to get apps not avaiable for the TF (My phone and TF is rooted however).
UPDATE: I was able to install the .apk by copying it to /system/app/ no fuss no muss. Once there it was ready to run without as much as a reboot required. Thanks to baseballfanz for the solution.
I am running gnufabio's Revolver 4.0.3 RC3 and downloaded the removed apps zip. I am trying to install the AsusReader.apk (MyLibrary), when I used my TF101 stock I liked this app for PDF viewing much better than Polaris Office.
When I try and install it says installation failed, do I need to flash this via recovery (a la gapps)?
(I would have posted this in the ROM thread, but I don't have a high enough post count to post in there yet.)
I've never run into this error otherwise, try flashing via cwm, I think that's what was intended being a 'system' app.
If there's a cwm flashable file try that, if not try manually moving it to system/app instead of installing it like a regular apk
Did you find a solution for this? I really liked the MyLibrary app, I have tried installing as a zip, manually putting in the zip folder etc. There seems to be a few of the Asus apps that won't install. Alternatively does anyone know of a good app that organises PDFs in a similar way to MyLibrary?
I haven't tried flashing via cwm yet, I need to get to my laptop so I can yank the stuff I don't want out of the zip.

[edit]I just thought about what baseballfanz said and decided to give that a try. I used Root Explorer and moved the apk to /system/app and it was in my app list, no reboot needed.[/edit]
I tried moving the apk into the app folder but it didnt work. Are you using the apk from the revolver main post?
Yes, extract the apk and use a file explorer with root access. I used Root Explorer, find the extracted apk and long press on it select copy or move. Then navigate to /system/app and then touch paste.

I tried the exact same thing about 10 times and eventually it worked by renaming the APK to MyLibrary.apk. Very odd!
It's definitely the best app for displaying groups of PDF in a library view that I've found
Thanks for your help
Glad you got it all sorted MrMuz.
I just went and double checked mine and it is still AsusReader.apk
AsusReader on Lenco TAB-9701
Hello MacFett,
I have tried to install the AsusReader.apk as both AsusReader.apk and MyLibrary.apk in the system/app folder, but it does not seem to work.
The icon shows up but when I tap it I get a message that the application has stopped (after 2-5 seconds). I'm using a Lenco TAB-9701 tablet.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I really like this app (I've used it on other tablets) and would very much like to get it working.
Furthermore, does anyone have information on how to root the 9701?
Thanks in advance for your help.
It maybe that it is fc'ing because these Asus stock apps for the transformer.

Hi everyone, I am looking to root this tablet to get rid of google bloatware more than any other reason. I found firmware in the form of a zip with everything organized the same way as a cwm installable zip. Is it possible to just add a SU apk to the system/app folder in the zip file and flash as device recovery to get SU? Are there any other files I need to add to other locations? Is it just easier to use the method recommend for another Proscan tablet such as this?

Any thoughts on this is greatly appreciated.
