[Q] Please help an Android newbie... T__T - General Questions and Answers

I have an LG Optimus One with FroYo and I was trying to move some preloaded apps that I know I will never use such as Drive and CarHome to the SD card. I followed the instructions here forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2955776&page=13 and used z4root to root my phone.
I was moving the apps to a backup folder on my sd card when the following errors started popping up endlessly:
1. The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
2. also (process com.android.mms) and (process com.android.phone)
I thought I erased something important so I placed all the files that I moved back into the apps folder in the system. It didnt help a bit. I then thought to do a hard reset of the phone which also did not help.
Now my phone is just lying down on with the keypad locked. When I try to unlock it, the first error keeps coming back. Someone please help... T___T How do I bring back my phone to life?

[q] htc hero failure!!!

I am by no means a computer or phone guru...just curious about things. Apparently i got a little to careless with my curiosity. I have rooted my phone using z4 and started to delete files I thought i did not need. At first I couldn't download anything from the market so I unrooted the phone and then reset it. I then got the message SORRY! The appication HTC Sense(process com.htc.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I have factory reset the phone, cleared the sense data in settings that was able to get to...but nothing changes. Can anyone help me with this problem?
it seems your home launcher program (sense) is the problem. try signing into your gmail and going to market.android.com on ur computer. then search for luancher pro, and click install. then once it installed on your phone, click the home buttom, and then check off "select as default" and then click launcher pro. hope this helps!
Or just re-flash the rom.. Don't delete data partition and you should be fine with all your personal settings kept when you re-flash.

[Q] Accidentally Deleted Market App W/out Backup

Hey everyone.
Like the title says, I accidentally deleted the market app without a back up.
I've downloaded the Market apk and Updater apk and installed both onto my phone.
However, as soon as I try to install or update something, it force closes and gives me the message:
"The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I'm seriously worried about my phone and I have no idea what to do...
Please help.
I have a rooted Xperia Ray and am on stock ROM.
Thank you.
Had this problem on my I9000, flashed a new rom cuz i couldnt find a solution haha
I think you need to backup everything with Titanium Backup, then re-flash
Then restore the apps and setting with Titanium..

Hy. My name is Steven. Yesterday i bought an Lg L Fino d290. I rooted it with purpledrake and i installed Titanium Backup. I restored some backups from my old phone (an Chinese one : Colorovo City Tone Vision). I restored Contact storage, Phone storage and some other apps. After I rebooted the phone an error pops up "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped". I tapped on "ok" and imediately it apeared again. I pressed ok again and still apeared again and again. I freaked out and i realised what I've done.. Then i delelted all app chache and rebooted the phone. Nthing changed. I entered in stock recovery mode ( i can't install cwm on my phone) and i whiped all data and cache. I rebooted the phone and nothing changed. The error dialogue is still there. I tryed to install Titanium Backup again to see what i can do but it didn't work because the error message poped up contiously. What shoul I do? I knnow i dit something wrong..
Hi,
Yes, installing system files from a different devices is not a good idea. It is almost guaranteed you will have bad issues.
Unfortunately I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device, other than trying LG's site for your exact devices firmware. And flashing instructions.
If you have trouble or future questions/issues, This is where to ask for help with that device,

Good luck!

Rooted LF Vortex VS660

I have a old lg vortex and I just wanted to use it as a remote for streaming music . I rooted it with gingerbreak and then installed root app delete. I guess I let the power go to my head and got over ambitious in deleting now I get a continuous error message " The application Dialer ( process com.android phone) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. To make the matters worse I thought a factory reset would fix but it didn't. When I ran app delete I did had the files just hidden but the factory reset deleted that app.
My computer no longer sees the phone tried on both windows and Linux. Any suggestions would be helpful
