Hi,
I Recently I upgraded my Samsung galaxy S from Eclair 2.1 to Froyo 2.2 with a custom Rom, (SztupY_JPM_JP6_NORFS_ROM_0.2) and works amazing!
Unfortunately I had some problems with my phone and I need to deliver it to the dealer, and I will lose the warranty if I deliver it like that.
I need to roll back everything urgently.
Can some one help me to downgrade to Eclair 2.1 (clean) again, and also where can I download the files for it?
Thanks in advanced.

Hi there,
I recently used the "eugene" froyo update on my new unlocked samsung vibrant from t-mobile. it still lags sometimes and i was kinda hoping to find a way to make it faster.
I don't know if the eugene froyo update rooted my phone or not. under firmware version it says 2.2 and build number says FROYO.UVJK2. I don't know what the build number means either.
I wanted to downgrade from this 2.2 version back to 2.1 cuz i wanted to wait for the original release of 2.2, but i couldnt find a way to downgrade. I want to make the phone faster if possible, that is why i am posting this.
If anyone could help or give me a solution, please let me know.
Thank you very much.
I updated to froyo 2.2 (leaked version) on my samsung captivate, and I was wondering if there was a possible way to downgrade back to 2.1.
*The only reason im not liking froyo 2.2 at the moment i cant seem to learn our find out how to root it...
Wanted to root to rom a custom rom?
"noobie question"--> if i was to downgrade to 2.2 back to stock 2.1 and root it to have super user, i could then be able to install a custom rom? OR what would other people suggest doing?
Could someone point me in the right way with a link or two maybe, or some suggestions?
Update for Samsung vibrant is available for t-mobile using kies. If upgrade unlocked Samsung vibrant using kies to froyo 2.2, will it lock the phone again?
No, it will not.
I have recently done the same thing.
I am using my Vibrant on AT&T as we speak with stock 2.2
I would still recommending using a custom rom though, I am testing stock and it has occasional lag spikes, which I cannot explain. And I have not found a reliable lag fix for stock 2.2 yet.

Yes I agree with whoever is above me.
Stock shouldn't mess anything like that up, but there is a possibility. I would recommend using a custom rom also.
As a noob what would you recommend as a decent safe custom ROM?
Hi,My phone is a unlocked Apollo i5801. I can't get 2.2 updated from US ( using newest Kies ) My carrier is AT&T.
Are there any newest rooting tool or easier way to get the Froyo 2.2?
I am new to Android OS also new to this forum.
Second question is: Can Apollo i5801 upgrade to 2.3 directly without getting 2.2 first? Is it possible?
I will be appreciated if any one can help me out.
Thanks in advance.
Hello Guys,
I just bought a Samsung GT-S5570 Galaxy Mini. It's running Android 2.2 and I want to update it to 2.3.3 and get CyanogenMod on it.
I wonder how can I backup the stock rom, so I won't void the warranty after a rom update? If I would need to get it to warranty back with Android 2.2. Cause I can't find the stock rom nowhere.
up~ Any ideas anyone?
You probably already know this, but you would have to get the factory ROM directly from Samsung or your cell provider. If you do some searching around you might find it posted somewhere online. Best of luck and happy hacking!
