Hi there,
I recently used the "eugene" froyo update on my new unlocked samsung vibrant from t-mobile. it still lags sometimes and i was kinda hoping to find a way to make it faster.
I don't know if the eugene froyo update rooted my phone or not. under firmware version it says 2.2 and build number says FROYO.UVJK2. I don't know what the build number means either.
I wanted to downgrade from this 2.2 version back to 2.1 cuz i wanted to wait for the original release of 2.2, but i couldnt find a way to downgrade. I want to make the phone faster if possible, that is why i am posting this.
If anyone could help or give me a solution, please let me know.
Thank you very much.

[EDIT] - Now following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098586
My phone congratulated me this morning, saying that there was an update available from T-Mobile.
I checked out the forums and searched Google News and could find no information on the update or what it was going to do. Was a little paranoid it would help T-Mobile throttle my DL speeds or have some other negative effect. My phone is not rooted.
Got antsy at work and installed it.
Disappointingly, it is not Gingerbread. It says my firmware version is 2.2.1 my kernel version is 2.6.32.9 build FROYO.VUVKD1
Anybody have any idea what this is?

kd1 is supposed to fix the sms fail error, and the reboot issue, and is faster. Weve had KD1 for a while now, unofficially
old news
http://forums.t-mobile.com/t5/Samsu...for-our-Samsung-Galaxy-S-4G-users/td-p/839425
could have manually loaded it weeks ago. it was official from samsung and tmo. they didnt want to push it over the air all at once and cripple their network.
it's been good for me.
kd1 has also been out officially via kies u can find it in the tmobile sgs4g forum.... but i guess u chose to wait for the OTA.... and success100 said its also been out unofficially...

Hi, I've had the Infuse for some time now and I've been patiently waiting for the next official 2.3 update after it got pulled. I assume this wont happen and my contract will probably be over by then. lol. Anyways I'm kind of new to this and would like some help on upgrading it to gingerbread myself. I dont know if it's possible but can I put gingerbread without rooting? If so, that would be great. If not, can someone post all the instructions needed to do this myself and how to revert back to stock if I want to.
Thank you, really appreciate it.
Check out the Infuse 4G super thread to get you started:

that should have everything you need to root, flash, return to stock, etc. With detailed instructions on how to do it all, and what u need to do if u "f" up!
I just updated my daughter's Infuse with Kies Mini to the official 2.3.6 Gingerbread version today, April 24, 2012. We were having trouble with the phone messing up, so my wife called AT&T. They told her to update the phone with Gingerbread. I hooked the phone up to the pc and updated the phone. Working fine.
The other day I let the Samsung Company lead me when they said there was an update for my phone. Thinking that I would enjoy the lovely 4.0 ICS as a change from the Nice 2.3.6 GB. I let Samsung talk me into flashing my alltel phone. Low and behold they gave me a USC flash to replace my current Alltel network. This is the first time doing something this drastic to my cellphone and now I don't have any data communication on my phone. Does anyone know where I can find an alltel gingerbread flash for the Galaxy S2 SCH-R760. I've searched (what I feel as) Everywhere and can't find anything. My phone is only 2-3 months old so I would prefer not to root it.

I am trying to root.. I also have Alltel Samsung Galaxy S II 4.52 inch Model SCH-R760.. It's also running stock Gingerbread 2.3.6, and since there won't be any OTA Official updates for this particular model, I am going to try to root and update to ICS or Jellybean.. I have looked at several forums, and I have never root before.. Yep I'm a NOB.. Can anyone help me, who has this device and successfully rooted..
Of course I would rather not root, but to the best of my knowledge, it's the only way I will be able to get ICS or Jellybean..
I am looking for some updated information on the Samsung Fascinate 4G. I received it as a gift, it is unlocked from Telus and running on Rogers, but it doesn't have root. I have checked it with root checker. I have read every post in the forum regarding this phone, and I know it can be done, but the posts are all well over a year old, some of the links don't work, and some of the posts are contradictory. Does Superoneclick root this phone running Gingerbread 2.3.4, Baseband: T959PTLKH2, Kernel: 2.6.35.7-T959PTLKH2-CL455087? Some say yes, others have had problems. I am leery on trying it because I am not 100% sure I can get someone to help me get it back up and running because it is a bit of a lone wolf. I was all set to try Odin, but again I don't want to be stuck with a phone that isn't working and not sure how to get it running again. Can somebody help me figure out how to root this baby. I would love to see the potential. Thanks for your time.
Hello.
I have a UK T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100
It has been rooted quite a while ago, and i'm looking to get the phone back to scratch!
I've been looking at the tutorials/guides, and to be honest, it's all going over my head lol.
This is the info on my phone if that helps?
Baseband version
I9100XXLPQ
Kernal version
3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL223505
[email protected] #3
Build number
IML74K.XXLPQ
If anyone can point me to the correct files i need that would be a great help!
I'm not sure if the phone was originally gingerbread or honeycomb, hopefully thats not an issue?
Thank you.
