Greetings! I'm just new here and i haven't got an xda yet but im planning to get one soon as i finally found a forum where i can read alot of information on how to use it and great people to assist/help when i need one.
guys, may i know if the applications that work with my spv e100 (manufactured by HTC too) will be compatible with the XDA II? like the smart explorer or resco, World Time and other games perhaps? thanks very much!
manny
No, Smartphone apps are not compatible with PocketPC.
Thank you, griffog for that prompt reply. Any idea where to download free apps for xda2?
http://www.freewareppc.com
or open google and type pocketpc freeware then you should get a whole pile of sites
yah, smartphone apps are not fully compatible wid xda2, but som do run perfectly like tiny ebook reader, betaplayer, mobipocket, town compass, bdicty, pocket stars nd others. some games run but u wud find it hard to control, problem wid d interface, wasnt written for touch screen
Some applications may run.
yes, some applications will run on both e100 and XDA 2, are you a member of airfagev? well, he things i tested that runs are Pocket TV(but there is a free PPC version), SmartNES (but there is PocketNES and other PPC versions), Many games, but will only display on a portion of your XDA screen.
get in touch. PM me so we may pool our resources along with other KABABAYANS near us.
Got my XDA from SMART after much hassle and bleeding.
Im a previous e100 user too and migrating to XDA 2 is no problem.
thanks

Creating an app in a new tab

Hi guys,
I'm in the process of making an app for my HD2, which will be the first time I have ever programmed anything for a mobile phone
Is it possible to add a new tab? I imagine it is. So how does one go about adding a new tab? Is there some sort of HTC HD2 API documented somewhere that I can consult?
Much appreciated if you can help I've done a bit of searching on the forums and haven't found anything that answers my first question.
The only app. I've ever seen that is embedded in Manila as a seperate tab is found here
Maybe you can contact the developer?
Good luck (hope you come up with something useful you can share with us?)
Thanks, I've just sent the dev an email
If it works as I plan it to work, I shall share it
The dev didn't not create it
Manila TV PLayer is a tab to add in TF3D & TF3D2 but in this the landscape don't work properly.
This add-on is based on tab from orange tab tv i'm modificated to work with all languagues and other streams.
It's orange that created it

does all the apps from touch-screen phone work on non-touch-screen QWERTY phone?

i have installed some awesome reference apps like lexisgoo dictionary n wikipedia app n other utility apps. now im planning to buy htc snap, which is a nontouch-screen qwerty phone. the question is will these apps mentioned above will work on htc snap phone?

Hi,
They will work, but navigating in the interface will be 'difficult' if not to say impossible...
Dirk
As mentioned above, it depends.
It is possible to write an application that will run on either PPC Touch Screens, and also on smart phones, but the decision must be made at the design stage, and the application must decide which type of device it is running on and act accordingly.
Smartphones will not generate OnClick() events (.NET) or WM_LBUTTONDOWN messages (Win32), only key related events. If the app was written only for PPC clicks and not to react to key presses as well, you could be in trouble.

Are there any nice tools for the PS3?

I would like to have some tools on my HD2 for my PS3, e.g. see trophy's, friends online, use it as a remote control etc.
Is there someone that can help me???
Moved as not software release.
Oke, thanks.
Is there somebody who can help?

[Q] Question: How to remote control WMP

I hope this does not get to embarrassing, I have googled this site and almost everywhere else without finding any answer, but its probably still something easy that have been done before...
How do you control wmplayer.exe from the command line or through postmessage?
Specifically, how does spb mobile shell wmplayer widget control wmplayer.exe.
My goal is to intercept those messages and redirect them to s2p or my own radio application for the omnia 2.
Well, bring it on guys and gals, make me look stupid, please.
