Moved from Wildfire to Optimus 3D

Hello everyone Today bought Optimus 3D. I was very pissed with wildfire, laggy phone.
So i have some questions.
Wich phones now are best?
1. 3d evo
2. galaxy s2
3. optimus 3d
?
SHould i unlock my phone like wildfire and instal other roms? But i like default rom very much Wildfire was rooted because it was slow, i wanted to find fastest rom and good battery, but this phone is fast enough.

If you bought your Optimus because you are interested in 3D contents IMO you made the best choice available.
The Evo 3D doesn't have good stuff 3D at the moment so I don't really see the point of HTC developing such phone without stuff to download.
Now if your thing is not much 3D so I would go for the Galaxy SII.
I haven't rooted my phone and I'm very happy with the stuff that I've got so I guess it's a personal thing do it or not.

Agree 100%. LG is sooooo bad on updating their devices and without the right software we cant get the best out of O3D.But 3D is great.

what is O3D ?
Yes, im interested in 3D What cool things i can get? Can u say? Because all i got is from default rom. What is better with rooted?

O3D is Optimus 3d, also known as the Thrill in the United States.

Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS Upgrade Schedule

LG will be offering the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OS upgrade for a range of LG smart-phones which were introduced this year. The global upgrade schedule will begin in the second and third quarters of 2012, which will be followed by a global roll out.
During the second quarter of 2012 upgrades will begin for the following smartphone models: the LG Optimus LTE, Prada phone by LG 3.0, the LG Optimus 2X, the LG Optimus Sol, the LG my Touch Q and the LG Eclipse. These upgrades will be followed by upgrades for the following smartphone models during the third quarter of 2012: the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus Black, the LG Optimus Big, the LG Optimus Q2 and the LG Optimus EX.
LG will be taking all possible measure to offer a smooth OS upgrade in a timely manner. The exact start dates can vary by market, as each country can have different requirements, depending on the carrier and the smartphone model.
LG would like to thank its customers for their most valued loyalty and support. Further details on the ICS OS upgrade, including their exact start dates, will be released prior to their commencement. Please stay tuned for more updates from LG. Thank you.

There are two reasons I don't mind that it is 6 months away.
1. CM9 will be out before then
2. It might possibly be an actual upgrade not just a "here you go have fun and stop complaining" like GB was for us.

Hmm, 2Q ends June 30 -- sounds like "by summer" to me!

That's the point. Carriers don't make money by updating phones, they make money by selling new ones.

The G2X is not listed, why didn't LG list them with their LG-P designations too? Looks like the G2X is an unwanted orphan.

Optimus line I believe almost all Cell companies LG, Samsung, HTC, they care more about their Euro versions more when it comes to advertisement. I'm about 90% sure we will get it and it is not the orphan child, cause we got GB (even if it was a poop build) before Optimus 2X did.

No. Carriers make money by keeping subscribers. Selling phones at subsided prices doesn't make them any money.
Keeping existing customers is also much cheaper than getting new ones.

I am very dissapointed...wish i had the money to get a Nexus Galaxy...its very unfair that our devices will only get the upgrade near the end of its life....there will be no point updating to ICS in 2/3rd quarter of the year...everyone would have either upgraded to something with ICS...or moved to a device that will have ICS much sooner.
LG you suck, and you need to start focusing on making tvs or washing machines...or what ever the hell else you do...stop making cell phones..you suck at it.

LG just confirmed this means the G2X. Clarifying Optimus 2X = G2X
G2X owners are too vocal to be ignored. If with lackluster T-Mobile sales.

Crap!!!! I am done with this phone. On my way to Verizon to get me the nexus I love T-Mobile but they stop getting good phones now new year new carrier.

Where is the confirmation from LG for the G2X? I checked the official announcement which does not mention the G2X and don't tell me it is an Optimus 2X cause it isn't.

Doesn't matter. Most of us will have a new phone by then.

Link please. Despite what PhoneNews.com and some here are saying, 2x does NOT equal g2x. The g2x actually had gingerbread before the 2x and roms are NOT compatible between the 2. Unless LG themselves say specifically G2X then there is no guarantee of an update.

In Canada the P999 and P990 go under the same name, the Optimus 2X. The only one with a license to call it the G2X is T-Mobile because they wanted to continue their G line. I assume that LG wants to go by the name it was originally intended to use. It'd be much clearer if they just used model numbers.

If what you say meant anything for updates then explain why the Wind version never received an official update to Gingerbread considering it is even fully compatible with the G2X? The carrier has to request and test the update.

There are like 20 different models that are considered galaxy s phones. The 2x is probably better than all of them but if you are talking about a galaxy s2, the 2x can't hold a candle.

You can't compare Optimus 2X to Galaxy S (1). If you want the best of the best, buy Galaxy S2!

Obviously the lg 2x. GPU wise they might be on the same level, but cpu nope.

2x to benefit of dual core ( talking about speed if you want )

But you can't compare the LG's phone and the first Galaxy S.

because O2X have dual core processor n SGS I just single core
but if you want buy anyone, I think O2X with dual core good
but LG too long repons for update the android device

The Optimus 2x is WORLDS better than the galaxy s, I have the G2x which is the exact same thing (not even kidding, they're exactly the same) and it's very fast. As long as you're willing to put some work into making it perfect then you'll love it.

That case is for the LG Optimus not the LG Optimus 2x/G2x.
The one on the website is way smaller than our G2x.

Odd, I thought they had the EXACT SAME form factor.

Optimus =/= Optimus 2x

Also the top and bottom are rounded not flat, the Flash would be covered and no port opening for the HDMI.

Hey guys;
Just wondering in your opinion which phone is better as I had a recent offer to trade?
I don't so much care for the 3D effect as I own an Optimus 3D, but I hear the specs on this phone are much better(dual core vs single core for example)
Mostly what I care about, which phone has better roms and developer support? Better battery life? Better display? Things like that; since this isn't device specific I decided to post here. Be glad to hear your thoughts on all.
