Cubed player issue..plz help - Android Apps and Games

I have a big problem with it.
Yesterday, it showed me wrong album arts for most of the albums. Today, it doesnt show the album covers, even tho I have them embedded in the ID3 tags of the mp3s. At the same time, all other players show the album arts properly.
I have also placed AlbumArt.jpg in each of the folders, so I removed them to see if there is some kinda conflict between the jpg in the folder and the ID3 embedded art, but its the same.
I tired uninstalling n reinstalling. I also searched for some kinda data/database on the SD card related to the cubed player, but cudnt find.
Plz help me.

I have the same problem.

Long tap on the image and you will get a list of optional images that are available.
The ID3 image should always be first - there is a setting to always use the ID3 image but a recent update seems to have broken that setting.
Cheers
Stu

This issue was solved long back when I chose "Get album art" in the menu. It assigns the ID3 tags properly after doing that.

Album art issue

had put a bunch of music on my Fuze and had just noticed last night that it doesn't seem to be pulling the album arts from the ID3 tags, I have a bunch of Misc X-X folders that are all just random singles i've downloaded not albums and it somehow pulled the album art out of one of the songs and applied it to all songs in there which being a album of a bunch of random singles isn't right, is there ay way to get it to correctly display from the ID3 tags or is it just not capable of it?
Several threads for this issue already.
Had tried search but didn't have any luck finding anything on it.
You need to put each artist/album into it's own folder.
Yeah that doesn't always work, all of mine are separated and still no album art.. while if i stick my card back into the 8525 there it all is. Either way, for me at least its not a big deal and I'm just living with it.

SOLVED: Album Art missing on most. (also Unknown Artist)

I transferred a bunch of music over using MediaMonkey, but most albums are missing album art. All the folders have a *.alb file, but no album cover shows up when i use the music player.
I have used MP3tag to view my tags, but nothing stands out as bad. 2 albums with all fields filled in, one shows album art, the other doesn't. Out of 20 albums i transferred over, only 4 show album art.
Any ideas?
Thanks
EDIT - other issues include "unknown artist" and it seems to be M4A files (AAC) Only.
I too use mediamonkey and the best way to have album art show for a song is to embed that art directly into the song's file. To do this in mediamonkey, sort by album, then highlight all songs of the same album and right click and press auto-tag from web. It will try to find the album art and you will embed it directly into the song. That way any media player will be able to show the album art.

I have done this and then re-synced. I see the tracks copied over - but still no album art. Very strange.
Solved it - also the unknown artist issue.
If I used MP3Tag and remove all tags, then save the files. Then use MP3tag to add new tags (pulled from Amazon); then save; then copy to phone all is good.
For some reason, Media Monkey is NOT refreshing what it sees, so it is not really copying the retagged files over to the device. Even if do a rescan, it isn't updating. Changing tags in MediaMonkey was not fixing it either.
Also, updating tags in MP3tag was not fixing it - i had to remove, save, add, save.

[Q] Music player album art

I am trying to get album art in the Xoom music app. In the music app directions is says to copy the album art picture into the subdirectory with the songs and name it 'albumart.jpg'
music\abba\gold\albumart.jpg
Has anyone else got this to work or any suggestions?
The album and songs show up in the music app but not the album art.
I have re-booted but that did not work.
3g/wifi Xoom.

I have had some issues with the cover art working as well. I downloaded "Cover Art Grabber" from the market and it downloaded and inserted the problem art.
Thanks for the reply. I tried "Cover Art Grabber" and another program but I could not get them to insert the cover art in to the default music app.
What I did do to get it to work was, after in put the 'albumarm.jpg' into the correct directory, I went to Settings/manage apps/ and cleared the data in the music app. After I restarted the music app it found the cover art.

There are a few apps that can do that. Do a search on ID3 and there are apps there that can insert cover art into the Xoom's media database (without having a picture file in the folder). Some of these ID3 apps can also insert covers directly into the MP3/M4A.
I've tried Cover Art Grabber, Cover Art Downloader, AudioTagger Free, MP3 Tagger (I think this can also fix foreign garbled ID3 tags), iTag, DroID3Tagger but I can't tell you which is the best as my Xoom is dead now.
Hi Guys,
I used the free MediaMonkey last night and it worked really well. I removed all the album art info that exsisted and then used the "auto tag from the web" which found the album cover and added it in the correct format. Now all my albums show correctly

[Q] HTC music player weirdness with ID3 tags?

The default HTC music player seems to do some odd stuff when generating album lists from ID3 tags!
Some of my albums are split up into 2 or 3 separate albums, I've reset all the ID3 tags and cleared the media cache to no effect.
Anyone else experienced this, anyone know a solution?
Yes, I am experiencing this issue was well... I copied around 3gb of music to my Sensation, and noticed the issue almost immediately. I cleared the media cache, and it *seemed* to fix it, but after a reboot it was back to weirdness.
Weirdness, as defined in my case, is where an artist will have the correct number of albums, but when selecting an album, I am given a track listing from either A) A different album, or B) The album I selected, plus a bunch of different tracks, with incorrect thumbnails for the album... Very strange indeed.
Another bit of weirdness is, once I realize the track list is jacked, I hit the BACK button, and I get a Force Close, with a 'Tell HTC' button. I've hit Tell HTC everytime in an attempt to annoy them... hopefully it gets through.

Do you have different album artist? I have a soundtrack on here and it's split up because the songs have different album artist. Not Artist, Album Artist

Not to speak for the OP, but in my case, the answer is no. I am taking about single artists albums...
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
Update... Winamp doesn't exhibit these oddities, therefore, I am switching. I really like the sense player, but can't live with the broken listing. I am sure it will be fixed in the update... Or at least I hope.

You just need to make sure you have the correct album artist and it works fine.

I do have the correct album artists, and it doesnt work... No changes to the tags, and winamp works fine... YMMV.
even if it says the right artist under 'artist' in the tag, it may have something else under 'album artist'
you can use something like mp3tag to read & edit the tags

Just having a toy with this, on mine looks like i had differing composers.. Just testing to see if that fix's it

[Q] Android Music Database

I am looking for some clarification on how Android generates the Music DB and in particular how it displays track and album info and artwork. Right now I have some music in a "Music" folder on the root of my sdcard. There are several tracks directly in that folder, and some others organized into subfolders by artist or album. I'm having several problems getting the info to display properly.
My first issue is album artwork. Does Android display artwork that is embedded in the file? Some of them are showing up correctly and some are showing album covers from other tracks. Some of the things I've read suggested that everything be organized in folders by Album and to have an AlbumArt.jpg in each folder. While this is doable, I haven't gotten around to reorganizing my library and would rather the phone just read artwork from the file. I have checked the id3 tags of some of the problem tracks, both with an app on the phone, and from my pc, and everything (including artwork) looks fine. Both the stock music player and several 3rd party players are displaying the information incorrectly and identical so it seems to me like Android is caching the data incorrectly. I've tried to delete the albumthumbs folder on the sdcard as well as Settings->Manage Applications->Media Storage->Clear Data. It just gets regenerated incorrectly.
I think this is related to my next problem. It seems like the tracks that do not reside in their own album folders and sit directly in the Music folder are having the most problems. In particular the songs where there is no Album field in the id3 tags. The phone seems to think these all belong to the album "Music" - must be resorting to looking at the containing directory if no album is found in the tags. What's odd is that even though it thinks several tracks belong to this Music album, its now showing the same artwork for each of them.
What is the ideal way to organize music for playback on Android? Would sorting everything info folders by Album solve my problems? Do I need to make sure I don't have any blank Album tags?
On a side note, is anyone familiar with how iTunes stores its Album art? I'm looking for an easy way to maintain consistency between my iTunes library and what is on my phone. I'm thinking of developing a small application that can scan both libraries and detect differences to keep them synchronized. All of my music is on my old Macbook which I hardly use, but I listen to it pretty much exclusively on my Android phone. The problem is we also have an iPad that I'd like to keep the music on so I can't ditch iTunes entirely.
Thanks for any advice.
