[Q] Afraid I bricked my Milestone, is it possible to undo it? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello XDA-members,
I hope you can help me, I've been browsing this forum for quite a while now and I actually am rather optimistic looking at the high amount of leet tweakorz populating this place :> Shouldn't cheer too early though.
I've got some details which might be required in order to analyse the situation.
About a week ago, I downgraded to stock Milestone EU ROM 2.1, coming from the G.O.T. 2.2.1 custom rom, due to the power drainage which I thought was the price of the custom ROM.
I browsed around the interwebz in order to find a custom froyo rom not sucking ma powaz, but in fact I found out that the power drainage could be caused by failing to clean out the cache (including dalvik, etc) before flashing a custom rom. So, before I installed the stock ROM, I made sure I properly did this, after the installation I cleaned it again and then installed the G.O.T. 2.2.1 again , through the new OpenRecovery v2.0.1. Rooted it, installed the custom theme they included with the ROM, and overclocked it to I think 800 Mhz.
After this, everything worked fine for about 1,5 weeks, although I noticed it started to suck power again (60% gone in a night of a nice, cozy, sleepy rest without any applications, wi-fi or 3g connection on background), so I did something incredibly stupid. Still a bit sleep-drunk, I went into the openrecovery menu and cleaned the cache, dalvik and (I think it's) clear settings.
After rebooting, I noticed the theme that GOT included was replaced for the standard layout for froyo. Also, the device was barely responding to my commands, for about 5 minutes. I rebooted it, and after about a minute of processing it worked fine.
I didn't get to know if this was actually increasing battery life again, because I went to sleep yesterday night with the phone having about 40%, and this morning I woke up and the phone was empty (at least, so I thought). A few hours ago I connected it to the charger, later I found that the phone wouldn't power up anymore. It simply doesn't react to the power button, screen doesn't show power or anything. I also tried power button in combination with x, or camera, but both methods didn't do anything as well.
So, that was it. Maybe those were a bit too much details. TL;DR: I installed a custom rom, cleaned out all the cache, and my phone won't start up anymore. I hope anyone knows this problem, and possibly a solution?
Thanks for reading, Bullehr

Men i have the same problem with my girlfriend milestone .
Try to take out the battery for a minute and then put it back again, that's do the trick for me .
Sorry for my English it's not my native language

The problem generally is given by the fact that the phone needs some power to "boot" in power charging mode. What you need is a second battery, or a little trick to charge the battery...

*URGENT* Please help with my Tablet, it is stuck on boot screen!!!!

I have the Samsung p6200 which about 4 months ago I flashed Jellybean 4.1.2 on it, I have had no problems, but today I was deleting a lot of apps and I freed a lot of space (1.8GB) it was slow when uninstalling apps and was freezing, also it was quite hot, I deleted a lot of apps (about 15) and thought that maybe I should restart my phone to speed it up, I restarted it and got a kernel panic error (It is not too uncommon for me so I never really worry) and restarted it, then it got stuck on the boot screen. I turned it off to cool down and have turned it on. It has been trying to boot for 5 minutes and nothing, it is just stuck, I do not want to format it at ALL, please help, I also was using NEXT 3D launcher, good news for me is that I can access recovery mode (I have installed CWM recovery on it). And another wierd thing, a few minutes ago I plugged it in and the battery thing started up and did its business, then I unplugged it and it was still going (quite natural) and all of a sudden the battery look changed from like a blue battery to a white squared like batter (actually looked cool) it was a 2D look and it filled up with white as it charged with a black background, interesting, I have rooted my phone and I hope to God that I kept USB debugging on in case. Any ideas????
I found a image

The battery was in that kind of style, it looked like that but was a battery
May not be too bad
I plugged it into my pc on its boot loop, detected it and installed drivers
Take a back up of the Rom..
Then wipe/factory reset.
Then try restoring
May be this works
Sent from my E15i using xda app-developers app
Ok it is fixed
It is fixed, I left it plugged in my laptop and took 8 minutes and 42 seconds to boot, it was as slow as hell and I lost alot of my apps data, I lost 700 of funny pictures I was saving over the year, I lost all my progress in games too, swiftkey kept crashing along with 13 other apps, I had to remove some and reinstall a lot 'cos of files missing, I lost all 500 of my contacts too, I deleted a lot of apps and opened and regave root access to the apps that needed it, all is fine now:good:
Glad you got it fixed.
Backups cannot be overstated, not even so much for things like apps as they can always be re-installed and reconfigured but more for pictures.
I use dropbox and when I take pics they are auto uploaded to my dropbox cloud account which I can access from my other devices / computers.
If I lose apps it doesn't matter although for those I do have titanium backups, the pictures would definitely hurt to lose.

[RESOLVED] Used Photon Q SOD on stock rom?

Yes, I used the search function...
no hits on 'wake up' and only 1 hit in all of the entire forum+sub forums using 'sleep of death' or 'sod' and it seems that
arrrghhh hasn't seen anyone with SOD issues on this phone.
I've got about 2 weeks left to return this phone if needed...
As stated, stock ROM (came with ...ASA-10 pre-installed, OTA'd to ...ASA14).
SODs on both.
Only seems to be occurring after 4 or 6+ hours of sleep (less than that wakes ok)
No, pressing power button several times does not wake.
No indication of changing volume if volume buttons are pressed (I've had devices that forgot to turn the screen back on when they woke).
HAVE to press and hold Power+Vol Down to hard boot phone.
Airplane Mode is on (phone isn't yet activated).
USB Debugging = on
Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and Sync = on
Should I even try hooking to ADB for a Logcat (that will be massive) or just try to return it as it is not fully funtional as is?
Should I just unlock bootloader, root, flash a ROM (probably JB for now) as I was planning to do eventually anyhow? (kinda waiting for a fully stable KK ROM so I don't have to try each one and then flash multiple nightlies until a stable comes out)
*Edit* Addtional info:
Bought in 'fair' condition, only minor concern was a half-peeled back cover (top half).
Issue has occured from day 1 (about 10 days).
Every morning I have to hard boot.
Plugged or unplugged does not affect any change, still SODs after 4-6+ hours.
Any reason you're not on the latest stock ROM?
That would be my only suggestion. However, from what you describe it sounds like a defective device. Have you tried doing a full wipe/restore of stock with RSD Lite?
Perhaps try that, and flash the latest FFW-8 or whatever its called.

Thought I was, Motorola Device Manager says there are no updates.
I wanted to make sure all was well before doing any S/W changes that may affect anything.
Will RSD Lite (using RSD Lite 6.1.5 + MTK Patch?) to asanti_c_sprint-user-4.1.2-9.8.2Q-122_XT897_FFW-5-6-release-keys-cid9.xml.zip and get back.
Well, RSD'd 4.1.2.
Turned off screen.
5 1/2 hours all ok.
Plugged in for the night and will know in the morning.

No dice, still SODs.
It's going back.
Thanks for all the help arrrghhh!

Recovering a bricked uleFone Be Touch

Hi all,
Recently my brand-new Be Touch was suddenly bricked, I don't know why but it was unresponsive to everything... they screen just didn't wanted to show anything even when I connected the charger or plugged it to my laptop.
I tried all the instructions I found (there are really a lot of just googling "recover bricked phone"), even the official instructions to flash a new ROM (http://ulefone.com/download/betouch.html) But again nothing... screen completely black.
I tested the battery with a multimeter and it appeared to be full charge.
Finally when I had already contacted the seller for a return, I found a very old post (2013) about recovering a bricked device using Ubuntu (I'm using Linux Mint).
So I had SP Flashing Tool open (not doing anything special because it didn't detect my phone any longer) and in the Options -> Connections -> "with battery" marked.

The USB cable was plugged and the battery on its place.
I pressed "Power + Home" buttons simultaneously for around 30 seconds. It's real, I had tried before for around 10 seconds and nothing happened... and arriving to the 30th second suddently the screen brighted once, showing for an instant a 0% battery and went down again... Hope was back
I left the cable plugged for some minutes before touching anything. When I pressed again (5min) the percentage was still at 0% but the screen response was faster. So I decided to boot the phone and it started
It was connected and still showing 0% battery. It started as on the 1st boot, asking me for everything, but everything working. I wait for around 10 minutes and... the battery was still showing 0% :-/ I decided to turn it down for a faster charge.
I left it around 45 minutes shut down to reach the 15% of battery (fast charge they said!) after that it started charging a little bit faster, I waited until 100% before turning it on.
Once at 100% it booted well, restored my config and everything seems to work well again.
Today I have installed a battery repair app (called Repair Battery Life free on PlayStore), and it has detected around 10 deffective units on the battery :-/ (someone in red) but after clicking on "Fix it" and wait for some minutes it everything appears OK now. So I will pay more attention to it working and the battery from now on.
I don't know if all that story was caused by the battery... but at least my Be Touch is back
I'm trynig to paste screenshots of battery recovery, but I can't :-/
PS: if you find this info useful, I would appreciate if you click on "Thanks"
Maybe this post should be on "Help & Troubleshooting" ?
Not sure...

OTG and USB port not functioning

So I was having battery issues when I noticed my OTG had stopped working. But what's worse was the USB port was not either, so now I have no way to use fastboot and RSD Lite. Not good. So I installed a new OEM battery and USB port. The battery would not even take a charge and phone just bootlooped instantly. Reinstalled original battery, which now seemed to be charging much better for some reason. But the USB port still did not work, although it will now register as a unrecognizable device on Windows 8. A pop-up says there's an unknown issue with the device and to try again. Drivers are fine. I really want to restore the phone to original factory settings, meaning the original boot kernel, etc. I had upgraded the fastboot, radio, and recovery to a material look and I doubt that is related, but I still want it factory so that it will take OTA updates and I can sell it to someone who just wants a phone which does what your average owner needs it to do, lol. So anyone have any ideas? Is the main board toast?
Delete the drivers and reinstall.
Already done. No help but ty.
I forgot to say that I have 2 Nexus 5's, I upgraded to the 32Gb when my original 16Gb started having battery issues, which, I might add, I resolved this morning by booting into bootloader and allowing it to charge in that state, so it stopped looping the "dead battery loop" as I called it, and charged up to 95% by the time I rebooted into the OS. Seems to be working fine now, will check battery drain soon, but focusing on the OTG/USB port issue. I'm thinking the battery issue is related. I think I somehow connected it to too much amperage and cooked the main board's USB infrastructure, if that makes sense. So it might explain the battery issues also. Now it has a new battery, and all is well there at least. Oh, and I get a screen I have no idea where it came from. It comes up only when the charger is connected but the phone is off. I will try to get it up on here.

Idk if that first try came out ok cuz I don't see it on my phone, so I put up a link, does anyone have any idea why that is coming up when plugged in and not turned on? Weird.
And does anyone want a N5 16Gb w/ unlocked BL, MultiROM flashed and stock, rooted Android 6.0 and CM 12.1 installed? Cheap money? It just can't be connected via USB except to charge. But battery is brand new, ? Great as a dev device, should keep getting ROMs and official updates for years to come, look at the N4, still getting love, and the N5 is far more popular.
Oh, and screen is mint condition, and casing is good but for a couple little flaws, but it's a great functioning phone but for the OTG and fastboot problem. But no matter, it can be worked around, just don't fully wipe it, lol

Xperia XZ Serious Overheating Issues

Hey guys in the past week my XZ has been having some serious overheating issues. Even just idling at the home screen it sits at around 40-45c. It seriously makes the phone unusable since when you open anything it just warms up quick and throttles hard. I was thinking it was the last patch that came out so I unlocked the bootloader and tried out a couple of roms like carbon rom which was buggy as hell and slimbit aosp. No improvement. Tried out eXistenZ 6.0 which is what im still on now and no improvement. I honestly have no clue whats going on if anyone can help me that'd be great. Do you guys think my battery could be needing replacement? The phone isint even a year old. I have also tried the FSCv2 mod and still no improvement.

Change habit that after clean flash instantly install everything that exists in the playstore , especially various CPU/memory/battery monitors.
Install one aplication at a time until you find the problem.
btw, carbonrom Is excellent rom like all the other AOSP ROMs for the XZ

I don't think its a certain app I installed since it just started happening out of nowhere after no new apps have been installed. Android battery menu doesn't show any excessive battery drain from apps either. Even after I did a clean flash it was getting super hot and throttled in the setup process.
*Edit* It actually got to 50c while simply replying to your reply in Chrome and lagged tf out of my keyboard. Literally about to throw this phone at a wall.
So I've undervolted the cpu and the phone still reached 53c after browsing Instagram for about a couple minutes. Im seriously loosing my **** at this point. Im seriously thinking that this phone needs a new battery or something even tho its less than a year old.
Update. Did a fresh install of stock rom using flashtool and it throttled during the setup process and still throttles with no apps just trying to send a text message or simply play a song using google play music. Seriously nobody has a clue what is going on? I literally have to have my phone next to a fan just to do anything on it.
I discovered that my battery is only at 38c usualy so I think its safe to say that my battery is okay. My cpu is constantly pinned at 45+ and I only get about 3-4 hours out of a full charge. Did google play services get an update or something? I have no apps installed in my phone still. I seriously need any help
