[Q] - General Questions and Answers

I'm currently using XPERIA x10. When i send a message using handcent, i will see a little green tick at the left of the message . So, does it means that the message is delivered ?
However, when the other party switched off his/her phone, the little green tick still appeared. Does it mean that it is delivered and not pending ? I suppose that when he/she switched off his/her phone, it should not appear a green tick. Rather, would it be a yellow clock instead ?
So, is there any applications, softwares to be downloaded or any other ways to solve this problem ?

I'm quite sure that it means the message was successfully sent from your phone. It doesn't matter if the other person has their phone turned off, as they will still receive it when they turn their phone on.

System Administrator Text Message

I have just recently updated to WM6 "the real thing" and now every time i send an SMS (i no longer have the option to send just a text, i dont know if they are the same thing) i get the regular message sent message, and then a couple seconds later i get a message from system administrator saying the same thing, but in more detail like to the phone number i sent it to. is there anyway to turn this off.

IM questions and maybe a little help?

The IM app seems to be working great. However, is there a way to get an audible signal/tone when I receive a message and the phone has gone to what I guess is standby?
i.e. I'm chatting on AIM. I set the phone down to do something, and come back a few minutes later. I open the phone to find a message stating "A message has been received would you like to open the conversation?" But I never received an audible tone.
Is there a way to make it chime even when the screen is black?

OK i use the S8+ and i HAD a huge problem with whatsapp notifications and the always pop up display. I like having the pop up appearing each time i receive
a whatsapp message, instead of that small blue pop box at top of screen. I tried everything to rectify the problem and even emailed whatsapp to sort it out.
As usual i just got a generic reply. All of the settings in the app and phone were all set properly and i was angry.
Besides whatsapp , i was also NOT getting proper text message notifcations, but the same old blue small banner at top of the screen.
What i did next astounded me. I DELETED whatsapp from my phone..................i reinstalled it straight away BUT..............................
Whilst i was installing it again, there are some TICK boxes to complete. The first was the usual stuff like allow all things like contacts, location, numbers etc etc......................the next box it asked if i wanted something to do with SMS settings etc (i forgot now)................i DECLINED this one or ticked NO.
Now.....everytime i use whatsapp i get the proper pop up screen......even in the locked screen, and i receive proper text messages as well. No more small blue banner at top of screen. So i guess if you accept the second box on installation you get the small banner preview box and it therefore conflicts against whatsapp..........and if you declne......you get a proper whatsapp and a proper text message.
Hope this clears everything up

That blue pop-up is most likely being caused by Edge Lighting being on.

Am I missing something with how message notifications work?

OK. I've had this problem on every Android phone I've ever used. Someone sends me a test message. I get a notification. I reply. They reply, BUT I GET NO NOTIFICATION!. Everything is quiet, nothing, nada, no indication that anyone has replied. I have every notification toggle I can see set to the ON position, but still nothing. Am I missing something here? Sometimes I get a text message, and there is NO notification at all. Like I said this happens with every Android device I have ever owned. Can someone clue me in?
open the application message, tap on the points at the top right, go to settings and enable all notifications.
I checked on my mobile.
excuse my bad english.
The first question what someone needs to ask is
Which version you on, stock rom / custom / root (yes - no )
