I have the Kenwood DNX8120 and it works fine with my Fuze (did have disconnect issues but just updated the Kenwood firmware which should take care of that) but the SMS feature on the radio doesn't work. I know only certain phones are compatible with this feature but on the Kenwood compatibility list there are several HTC devices that work. In any case, does anyone know how to enable SMS over bluetooth on the Fuze?
Thanks
I have the Kenwood DNX8120 in my car and have had no luck getting the Fuze to work correctly. It constantly drops connection. I updated the Bluetooth firmware and that only seemed to make matters worse. It will pair with the Kenwood, but either won't make a phone call or will take up to 60 seconds (or not at all) for the Fuze to recognize I it the call button on the radio. SMS, sent and received call history also do not work.
Have you had similar issues?
I can not get sms working. The only other issue I have is that after a call, it drops the connection. If I get another incoming call, it will reconnect and the radio will ring and handle the call. But, if I want to place a call, I have to either select "set as hands free" of something similar, in the bluetooth settings on teh phone and it reconnects and I can dial. I just upgraded to elite rc3 and the problem is still there. I havn't messed with it enough yet to know if it dials ok without having to bring the phone out of standby yet. I too have updated the bluetooth drivers from Kenwood and that didn't help. I also tried the jetware handfree extension and didn't see any improvement.
I called HTC about this, and they told me it only "officially" supports a hand full of car units. Mostly in the Audi and BMW. They don't "officially" support anything from Kenwood so they were absolutely no help on this. I've also noticed this phone drops all connections except cell and data when it sleeps. Wifi, GPS and Bluetooh all seem to go to sleep with the phone. This seems to make bluetooth pretty useless if the connection drops every time the phone sleeps and needs to be manually reconnected.
I haven't seen it drop the bluetooth connection during sleep. I see that the Kenwood supports some HTC devices but not this one specifically. The other wierd thing is that the first time it pairs it shows the battery indicator but after the next connect it doesn't show it. It shows the battery icon but shows it empty. The jetware extension however does fix that. I will play some more with it and report here.
After resetting my phone to AT&T's original setup, I am experiencing the exact same functionality as you. It now sync's my call history and phone book. No voice dial support or SMS yet. (These have never worked with any of my phones) It will disconnect after a couple phone calls and I have to set as hands free to reconnect. Also, mine still looses the connection to the unit when it goes to sleep. I'm keeping it on a car charger for now and turning off any sleep function when charging. That at least keeps it connected until I make a call. It's almost still not worth using with having to reconnect hands free. Maybe if a hands free quick connect shortcut could be created?
This is all really ridiculous that a phone with this kind of tech can't auto pair and be ready for a call. My LG Chocolate had absolutely no problems with the Kenwood. As soon as the Kenwood finished booting the LG would auto connect and be ready for a call.
I thought I found a workaround at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...ghlight=bluetooth+connection+drops+phone+call
But, once installed an trying to run BT Restart I get an error saying that I need .net compact framework (version 1 or 2) installed. Not sure what to do now, cant seem to find a cab for this.
I've used this package from another post on the forum. It has many useful apps including the latest version of .net compact framework.
http://www.tyguy.net/_xchg/PPC/@essentials.rar
Let me know how it turns out!
I will take a look but I have 3.5 already installed. I guess that app needs the older version. Not sure I want to mess with downgrading it.
Not Kenwood
Hey Guys,
I drive a Jag XK8 and it has the same issues you are mentioning with your Kenwood, but its an Alpine unit, it drops calls, and after the first call connects the second call rings on the stereo but you can only answer on the handset.
I also recently had a new Jag XF for a week. It had a full integration to the phone. It also only showed the battery status when the phone first connected then the battery showed empty. It would drop bluetooth connections constantly on some days (every 90secs) and then somedays it would keep the bluetooth connected without issue. Very unreliable.
The reason I bring this up, is just to let you know these issues are not limited to the Kenwood.
Dave
Just an FYI. I have found it easier to just go into setup in the Kenwood and reconnect the bluetooth from there when the phone disconnects. It's under Setup/Bluetooth/Set, then just click on the device and hit connect. It seems easier than fiddling with the phone while your driving.
I am having multiple issues with Bluetooth on TouchPro2:
Issue # 1 with no solution
When trying to end calls using the end button of Jawbone Prime, it does not work, you must end call using the handset.
Issue # 2 (New)
When ending calls with any Bluetooth device (in my case built in Bluetooth in Nissan Altima) the calls will not terminate, have to press end button many time before calls ends
Are there any Bluetooth registry hacks that may solve either one of these issue?

I see the same issue. Sorry no solution.
I confirm same end issue ....although until reading above i didnt know it stemed outside of the plagued nissan vehicles with navigation.
I have a lot of confidence that this will be fixed sooner rather than later since it is now affecting everyday bt headsets vs. one isolated group of nissan / infinity vehciles.
For those who own this phone and a nissan / infinity. we will take this partial victory as it has been a long two years since the last known phone from htc that worked correctly with our cars was a mogul with WM5 / before that the apache.
Its nice to have a working touchpro 2 and nissan ...even if its not 110% with the disconnect issue.
I have an 08 Nissan with the Bose/Communications/convenience package, and my bluetooth worked fine with my i760, xv6800, and Touch Pro. But I experience the disconnect issue as well now with my TP2. Must be the new HTC drivers.
We'll standby for a patch. But I'm pretty sure even though the time keeps running on the radio, that the call still disconnects. In any case, it isn't right, and I doubt we'll see it when we get patched to 6.5.
FYI, from my research this is the widcom stack on the TP2. I thought i read that in the tmobile TP2 forum.
That would explain why it works because microsoft rarely fixes things on windows mobile.
If so it only more confirms ms at fault and not nissan.
The nav radio was always different than the non nav bose radio in the nissans. Different BT modules i believe.
That would explain why you didnt have the problems that so many others did.
I might be wrong on the widcom stack but I woudl think the tmobile and cdma variety are using same chipsets and drivers. for the BT radio
BMW bluetooth
Same issues on BMW bluetooth
Having simmular problems with an JVC BT1 specielly if i use AD2P at the same time.. phone can lag for like 10-20-30 sec someethimes even more....
Getting VERY tired of this!
several BT issues
I seem to be having the same issue as most of the post on this thread ...my headset, and my Infiniti will not end my call , but has anyone else had a problem just trying to get the bluetooth to open from comm manager or settings ? When I try to turn on Bluetooth through my comm manager it says cant turn on bluetooth , and when I try trough settings it says cannot start the Blutooth stack ???? If i do a soft reset BT will work but if i disabale and try to connect again im having the same issue ....some one help me out
TP2 sprint
have exact same issue with my parrot MK6100
have to press end call many time on the remote to end the call sucessfully
Me too, also using Parrot 6100
The bluetooth is a nightmare. I have a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT with v3 software and I can't even answer the phone when it rings. I even sent to phone to automatically answer after 1 ring and when BT is connected it just freezes the dialer. Then when I hang up a call the phone freezes for about 20 seconds. It sucks so bad.
verizon tp2, jawbone prime.
from prime: I can initiate voicecalling. I can answer a call. I just cannot end a call from the headset.
I think the blue tooth issues are due to the locking of the fm raido they reside on the same chip they talk about this on ppcgeeks
I have issues with my Ford Sync as well. If bluetooth is on and I want to use the Sync system I have to turn off bluetooth then turn it back on to get it to work. Quite annoying. I never had any issues with my XV6800 so it must be the bluetooth radio in the phone. Hopefully they come out with an update or when 6.5 is out it gets fixed.
WITHOUT DOUBT THE BLUETOOTH on the TP2. I have the same issue with Parrot 3200. It may be that different drivers would help.
Anyone been brave enough to try anything else?
Ditto here, but I'll take it a step farther:
I'm using a Jawbone Prime with my Verizon Touch Pro2 and it's not only unable to end calls from the headset, but it will disconnect the headset at random in the middle of calls. The only way I figure it out is to pick up the phone when I can't hear anything, only to find the "headset disconnected, place the handset to your ear" message.
Annoying.

Same setup and results here, and additionally the redial last number feature is spotty at best.
When HardSPL comes out, I'm going to offer a bounty for $50 for whoever can get the MS stack working correctly on our devices with all profiles. Anyone else in with me?

Seeing exact same random disconnect issue with my jawbone prime and my sprint touch pro 2. It happened twice today. One time I was speaking and didn't even realize it had happened for several minutes! Any fix for this?
I contacted HTC over this. The more people that complain about it to HTC, the quicker they will release a fix.
MS BT Stack on TP2

I am in. I need the MS stack for my wireless keyboard and mouse.
just wondering if its possible to change the code on device to allow pairing with non palm handets?
Wondering the same. I tried Bluetooth to no avail.
+1 been trying to get some of the more talented guys on this because I would love this on my evo
Same here, my crappy TomTom can do it so why not tpad?

Yes it can.
I have a se X10a rooted android 2.3.3 and I got it to connect. I may not have gotten the full features since I missed the pariing code and my phone must have sent a 0000 pair which was accepted.
Anyway, my phone says that there are two options, Connect and Phone audio. Incoming calls show up on the TP with the dialer interface including caller id right down to the state and country. Audio transferred properly, so the TP becomes a huge speaker phone. Outgoing calls can be dialed and my phone asks if it should use skype or the dialer (as its' set up that way), but this doesn't seem to be working totally as there is a fail message that shows up on the TP saying 'unable to connect' or 'dial directly from your phone' when using contacts. I was able to dial my Google Voice mailbox.
I had to go from WebOS to Other a few times to get it find the phone. Just selecting Scan wasn't enough. I have Uberkernal (the latest as of this date 9/10/11).
I was also able to connect my SE D980 stereo bt headset but it only recognized it as headset not a phone device. The unit has music track controls on it and they work fine with the standard Music app and don't work with the AudiophileHD app. Track forward and back, stop/start.
hello,
it doesn't work with my DHD 2.3.4
when looking for a device on my phone the TP isn't found...
& neither when looking for a device from the TP the DHD isn't found.
There's a precentral thread devoted to it: http://forums.precentral.net/hp-touchpad/295862-first-non-webos-phone-fully-tetherd-hp-touchpad.html
I was able to pair it with my Droid, but can only use the TouchPad as a bluetooth headset. I can also dial with the TouchPad, but I have to use the phone to activate the TouchPad as a headset.

I've got a DHD as well but running MIUI V4. I wasn't expecting it to work but just messing around, I thought I'd pair it in WebOS and it worked without a problem. I can even make calls from the touchpad without touching my phone. It should pair as a headset normally. It didn't work with my LG KC910 though.
*EDIT*
My mistake. It paired and made calls with my LG, no problem at all. Nothing worked under Android though, just file transfers.

Hello Forum,
I have been searching the net for everything related to a true hands-free bluetooth headset and cannot find one. I am looking for one with a2dp technology, voice-dialing, voice-answering, and the ability to connect to multiple devices at once.
The best that I have found are ones created by BlueAnt however it requires that you hit a button on the headset to activate the voice dialing feature.
I even found a switch that could be added onto the bluetooth but it cost around $300, which is ridiculous.
I am looking for something completely voice-activated as I am in a power wheelchair and hate having to stop driving to either call somebody or answer a call. It is hard for me to reach for my ears. I even tried looking for a combination of app and bluetooth but to no avail. I have the HTC Evo running android version 2.3.3.
Hope somebody can find me a solution.
Thanks,
What you are looking for may be hard to find because while our tech has jumped by leaps and bounds in some places (voice recognition for instance), it has stayed relatively the same in others, namely battery tech. Your phone and your bluetooth device, could it be found, would die very quickly were they both to be constantly listening to and interpreting voice commands.
I have a Standard Tesco 16GB Moto G, and a Vauxhall Insignia with Factory fitted bluetooth for hands free use.
The Moto G pairs fine, but functionality is limited. Missing are:
Use of the steering wheel/dashboard controls
No phone book entries
No call lists
Call lists are generated when using the phone in the car, but are lost when bluetooth is disconnected.
Audio is fine over the car speakers, and radio is muted etc.
I have to start, end and accept calls using the handset.
I am never asked the question after pairing that the car wants access to my phone book & call history.
My previous Orange San Diego worked flawlessly in all respects with the car.
I've searched and found many other instances where there are similar problems with most Nexus, and many HTC & Samsung devices. The workarounds vary, but none have worked for me so far.
Anyone cracked it for the Moto G?
The other threads imply it's an Android thing rather than device specific, so might I be waiting for KitKat?
Don't have too much hope, as the older threads were hoping Jelly Bean would fix it, but never did.
Any update on this? I have similar problems although after re-pairing a few times I at least can answer a call with steering wheel controls but cannot hang up one?
I also have this exact same problem with a Vauxhall Astra and would be keen for an answer on how to fix this.
(I have a colleague with a Kia and his phone connects and can be used perfectly so maybe it's a Vauxhall problem?)
Update:
After unpairing and connecting again it seems fine now most of the time. Although sometimes my car will be able to see the phone call history and sometimes not.

Hi,
I have almost the same issue, with a Vauxhall Astra '12:
- I can call someone using bluetooth, works but I can not end the call
- If someone calls me, it's mostly displayed on the screen -> I can answer, but then the audio doesn't work so I need to phone by hand..
- I manage to get into the phone book & see numbers, but can not dial them
This worked fine on my previous S3 mini & on some older (non-smartphone) phones.
Update
After repeated pairing and deleting the pairing I was finally asked by the phone if the car could have access to my phonebook etc and so I said yes (don't forget to tick the don't ask again box!)
The phonebook now appeared in the car, but I couldn't select one and successfully dial it - only from the phone itself. No Call lists.
If I made, or received a call whist connected, I got full functionality via the console and steering wheel controls afterwards, in fact everything perfect.
As a workaround, once the phone has paired with the car I either dial myself or 0000 (from the Handset), and after a minute or so, the call lists load and I get full functionality.
If I turn off the ignition, then I have to start from scratch i.e. dial 0000 or anything.
So a partial cure, but still a pain.
I am following a thread from a developer who offers a Bluetooth phone book transfer App, but unfortunately it doesn't work with the Moto G yet. He has now bought himself a Moto G so hopefully he will crack it. If and when he does, there will be £1.19 of mine winging his way i can tell you!
I can't post a link to this but search for android rsap and look under Motorola phones in his forum.
Good luck guys.
got the same problem here, was reading older modded roms work, anyone tried a rom that works ?
This sounds like the problem is with the car's bluetooth kit, because my Moto G works flawlessly with the Parrot kit in my Mondeo.
