Is there a way to hide the demo games? - myTouch 4G General

I tried playing asphalt last night and it said my demo had expired. Is there a way to hide any of these as I don't really play games much? I tried using titanium backup but didn't know how to use it or do it if it was possible...thanks

This question has been answered so many times, please do a search next time before posting a new threat. You might even stumble upon a step by step guide I just posted yesterday.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App

just tried it. couldn't figure it out. was typing everything exactly in terminal but they still show up.

I posted a [how to] on how to do it with titanium backup. Can't link it right now cause I'm on my phone not computer. The thread is called [How-to] vanillarize your MT4G or something like that. Should find all the info there.

Want the new Android Market?

http://www.androidcentral.com/grab-new-android-market-app-while-its-hot
You might have heard that Google was rolling out a new Android Market, complete with book and movie rentals. You also might have heard it would coming in the next few weeks. Well thanks to an anonymous source (possibly with a time machine) you can grab it today.
Hit the download link, and install it from your SD card like any other app. Fair warning -- we don't know if there will be any complications from doing this, but we haven't seen any so far. Use your best judgement. Discuss it in the forums!

Seems a little cluttered but i like it mostly. I'd recomend using something to backup your old market app in case this one doesnt work for anything, in the comments on that post some people said they were having problems uninstalling/updating apps.

Yeah, I just uninstalled and installed an app no problem too. But all of my apps are up to date so I don't know about updating.
Do y'all have the video/movie tab?

Why bother with any software or plugging your phone in to install an APK? It all seems a bit unnecessary. I just chrome-to-phoned the dropbox URL and bam app installed.

If your running tpgb ninja your rooted, so you don't need the sideload machine, just go to settings>applications>and check unknown sources. Then put this apk on your sd card and use file manager (an app installed in ninja) to select it and install.
Oh, and i am running ninja 7061. but i think i might just go back to stock CM
FOr people who want old market follow these steps:
(Originally Posted By:Chris Chavez of Phandroid)
Go into your phone’s Settings
Select “Manage Applications”
Select the “All” tab at the top
Scroll down to Market app and select it
Select “Uninstall Updates”
Now have your old Market back!

If that fails, install gapps via rom manager>download ROM>gapps

It's not a "method" really, it's just.. installing the app, the same way you would any APK. Doesn't matter how you get the url to the APK to your phone (email, chrome to phone, typing it in by hand).

Question regarding market

Hi guys, I wanna know whether something wrong with phone/market or everyone experiences the same thing. The issue is market shows maybe 1% of the total hits. For example if I search clock in the market then it says 21000 as result but when I start to scroll down it shows only 2_3 pages and stops there as if thats it, no more apps.
I did not experience this with the old market. I have gs2 and no root.
Anything I can do??
Thnx

Noone has the same issue? I really appreciate an answer.
Thnx

I have the same problem and have not gotten an answer either. Say I search for "root" 50 apps will show up, but at the top out will say 2000. But I want to see them all. I don't get it.

I deleted all cache and data etc and same thing even deleted market and reinstalled så need some advise here.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I did that too. the only way to get it back to normal is to install the old market. Your going to have to root to do that. Just revert back and freeze the updater
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I don't like the new market. So many developers are loosing money by not having their apps visable. Plus google isn't any help. Tried that too
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using xda premium
I have the same issue. Also, some of the pictures are not working.
If I check out a app the small preview pictures are fine but if I touch them to fit the screen I have problems viewing them. Usually the second one is only a black screen.

[APP] Android 2.2.1 Launcher("Froyo")

Here i present to you the original, complete and unabridged android Froyo launcher. works, and looks like the real thing. its system name is: com.android.launcher so it is legit. i don't take any credit for it because i did not make it. i simply found it on filecrop.com named launcher2.apk
It is in .rar format, its compressed inside of it. so please get either the unrar app for your android, or get winrar archiver for your computer if you haven't already.
How to use: once app is installed, get a launcher changer of the android market, clear the defaults, and press the home button as your default. if it does not work, i am not responsible but i have been using it for couple months now and it works fine so don't be scared.
Have at it, and enjoy!
oh ya, forgot
PLEASE THANK IF U LIKE
the other android froyo launchers that you find on these forums dont work (for lg optimus one series and most other phones), already tested them out.
PLEASE REPLY AND GIVE FEEDBACK ON WEATHER OR NOT IT WORKS, AND DESCRIBE THE EXPERIENCE OF USING IT.
It works on my sense 3.5 Rom .
Did u not have the stock group, it was replaced by HTC, just like LG put LG home on mine and got rid of stock.

"Suggesting" is not the same as "advertising". You're clearly doing the latter. And that's not allowed
OK u know what, drop the subject, if u just want to pick a fight go outside and punch someone in the face. But putting a link on the signiture and suggesting is a form of advertising. Or do you not understand that. Clearly, it seems you do not.

[GUIDE][HOW-TO]So Samsung Crippled Google Search's Local Abilities? Get them Back!

PROBLEM:
Samsung Rolled out an update that crippled the local search of contacts, apps, or other locally stored on the phone items.
Wait, what? Why?
The ongoing litigation between Apple and Samsung. Basically, Apple holds some patents related to how mobile phones are searched and to avoid future issues this was removed.
The Verizon variant of the phone STILL has this removed, although the international version has purportedly had this function restored.
SOLUTION:
First of all, the credit for this is not and should not be directed to ME, I am simply pointing out how to get it back based on my experience.
After getting help here several times, this is one of the only ways I can give back.
If this is in the wrong section, I apologize.
Because I have not seen many mentions of this, but there are new Galaxy S3 users every day I am creating this thread to feed to Google in hopes it helps future people that may have this problem.
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE:
-=HALT... If you damage your device, brick your phone etc etc etc dont blame me, okay? THANKS=-
A Samsung Galaxy S3 (this is for a Verizon version, I am sure it works on all other versions but cannot say.)
ROOT Access
Some sort of custom recovery that allows you to flash mods to the phone.
A bit of patience
**AS ALWAYS MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP. IF YOU MESS THINGS UP, YOU CAN FALL BACK ON THAT.**
1. Click on THIS LINK which will take you to a thread by cajunflavoredbob on how to install Google Now on your ICS based device.
2. IMPORTANT-- Download the M6 "Offline/Online" package. You need the offline version although it is larger, because it will help you search OFFLINE items.
3. Follow the instructions in that thread in step 1. It works, and is fast and simple.
4. Once you reboot, and check that its all set up, hold down the menu button on your device... I thought I had not installed things correctly... You will need to hold down the menu button in order to get the Google Now application to start. If you tap the home button twice it will simply bring up the Google voice dialer. This is not the same as google now.
5. Last step, if you want to do it... visit THIS THREAD created by Killer-B and install the custom ICS google search bar widget that he links to.
This last step allows you to add the search widget to the home screen, but when you click it NOW you get local search of all your apps, contacts etc.
HOPE THIS CAN HELP A FEW PEOPLE.

Of course. Glad it helped someone. All I'm doing is pointing out that it's the way to get local search back.
The real devs are the ones who made the threads I linked here, they deserve thanks.
My happy discovery is just that this way helps get local search back

Edit double post sorry
This isn't as difficult as you are making it.
It's installing the Google now mod, making sure it works, then activating it and adding the optional widget.
Basically it ties into step one, in step two I'm telling you which file from step ones link to install.
Step three is saying to follow instructions in that link from step one to make sure it's all set up correctly.
