[Q] Server DLNA for Diamond 2? - Touch Diamond2, Pure Themes and Apps

Somebody knowns if exists a server DLNA that runs on Diamond 2?
I tried this Samsung sw that runs also on HD2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629247
but it don't work on my device.
This software could be very useful to see the videos or pictures saved on smartphone, on PC or TV DLNA compatible.

i have a td2 (Windows Mobile 6.1) and dlna works fantastic.
have you changed the samsung-mediaserver.ini?
i changed all directories because the path of my storage card is "Speicherkarte".
i changed the root dirs for pictures, music and videos.
it didn't work.
i changed the setting "ip="
it works.

Thank you very mach for your advise, now I have setted in .ini the ip address of my device and it works!
Now I see correttly the pictures and the music of my device on tv connected by wifi.
I can't still view the videos, but I will try to do other tests, changing coding or others parameters.
Do you see the videos?

Yes, video works. Maybe it depends on the client. My videos are mp4 videos.

I got it working on the blackstone, and should be working on the Topaz too.

PPC video out

Is there anyway to output video playback from the ppc?
The spectec SDIO card is only for pics and presentations, I'm looking for something that can output real video.
I know that you can do it now with slingbox, but I want something portable that i will be able to connect to any TV (like a SDIO card).
Is there any product that can do that?
regardless, I read somewhere that you can stream video from the ppc to your TV using an HTPC (Home Theater PC) and some program called ORBIS. Do you have any idea what are they talking about? I can't find the link for the discussion...
Thanks for any help
There was some news story recently where the reporter was "shooting" video live on his phone and it was being broadcast on TV. This obviously means it's possible, but turning your PPC into a server is a different story.
There is the ActiveSync Remote Display, part of the Windows Mobile Developer Power Toys, but I never tested it to stream video. If it works on the some technology as Remote Desktop, you won't be able to stream video. But try it out.
Good luck,
Matt
oh, i m not alone. i m looking the same thing as well. i m looking (still looking...) something (not SDIO) that can output the pda screen display (and also sound) to tv or monitor. i m using o2 atom, so the only "connection" is either via a special usb cable or a bluetooth device.

Please make sure you follow my articles. CoolCamera is what you're looking for - it's the best solution for this.
I don't recommend PC -> PPC controllers because of speed issues - not even the, in this respect, fastest (read my remote controller roundup, it has been referenced several times in my articles cross-posted to here) Soti Pocket Controller.
I don't know if this has been discussed anywhere else but...
Does anyone know how I can get the video from my Tilt to show on my Pioneer AVIC-D3 display? I have my Slingbox setup and working on my Tilt and I can get the audio to play through the Bluetooth to the receiver, but I don't see a way to get the video to transfer over. Maybe a wired connection to the Aux Video Input jack?
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks to all...

It's http://orb.com. It turns your home pc into a streaming media server. Hands down better that slingbox.
With ORB you can connect your TV via a TV Tuner Card, or Have Live Secure Webcams with motion capture.
Also If you would like to stream and capture cam video from you mobile device to web you might want to check out comvu.com
You Must Never Ever Owned A SLINGBOX!

You must not own a SlingBox, Orb will never ever be better than the SlingBox. Orb buffers all the time, with the SlingBox you get perfect video all the time, don't you know. The newly just released SlingPlayer mobile software is the 8th wonder of the world, Orb don't even come close dude.(LOL)

[APP] Youtube got Mobile

Youtube got mobile (http://m.youtube.com) and now streams 3gp files via rtsp. Unfortunately WM10 cannot play these streams, but there exists a HTC Streaming Mediaplayer which plays it just fine. The app is posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1315644&postcount=553
I copied it to my Vox and it works, except my browser still opens WM10 when I click on a video.
Does anyone know how to associate HTC streaming media player with urls of type rtsp:// ??
EDIT: See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1322849&postcount=20 for getting this to work on S710
EDIT2: Try installing this cab here first, before trying the manual install procedure
HTC Streaming Media Player Older Version Works Best
The HTC streaming media player, the older version v2.10 build 1025.621 works best. This version is found in "Core 2.0" and Faria's "Real Thing". That's the application we all need! Now I do have it on my MDA running the Core 2.0, it connects to http://m.youtube.com very fast, works great, but I want to put the app on another device. That Touch streaming media player, looks good on the T-Mobile Dash, it tries to connect to rtsp://ect.....!, BUT THE SAME PROBLEM YOU ARE HAVING, WHEN YOU TRY TO CONNECT TO THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS WMP10 COMES UP, WILL NOT PLAY THE CLIP!
The link I posted above V2.10 Build 518.700
Don't know if yours is newer.
I just tried it with this link: rtsp://rtsp.youtube.com/youtube/videos/JBWbJLYfrgs/video.3gp
and it just quits the player.
Where do I find "Core 2.0" and Faria's "Real Thing"?
Wizard Wm6 Threads
Look in the wizard wm6 section or do a search, it should be easy to find! The 1.7 reload has that streaming media player also!
Thx! Have u tried the rtsp link above? does it work for you?
I think I found the reg keys for handling rtsp.
Should be something like this:
Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RTSP]
(Default)=URL:Windows Media Streaming Protocol
URL Protocol=
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RTSP\DefaultIcon]
(Default)=\Program Files\PacketVideo\PVPlayer\PVPlayer.exe, 0
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RTSP\Shell]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RTSP\Shell\Open]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\RTSP\Shell\Open\Command]
(Default)=""\Program Files\PacketVideo\PVPlayer\PVPlayer.exe" %1
I found that here: http://www.hkppc.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=2422
The funny thing is that there seems also to be a PVPlayer (PacketVideo) which can do rtsp ??
Missing Complete Link Data
All the rtsp url info is not there, but I can connect to mobile youtube easy and fast and watch all the videos! I'm watching the Paris Hilton jail video via wifi!
The Pvplayer Will Work Also
A major breakthrough, but where do I find the download. I do not speak Chinese. The registry stuff find is awesome guy! Will the pvplayer just work on Nokia phones, but the above registry data is for a windows devices!
I just improved the link where I found it:
http://www.hkppc.com/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=2422
I think you must register to be able to dl it
The Hack Makes The Pvplayer The Primary Player
I've use the above hack before to make the TCPMP/player the primary player over wmp10 to watch Orb on the TCPMP/player, it works!
I'm glad I could help you, but so far I haven't got anything to work
Perhaps you can reply on the PM I just sent to you. Also you say you are running TCPMP. Which version? And can it do RTSP?
I'm using Coreplayer which works great, but can't do RTSP yet
The Hong Kong PPC site which has the registry tweak talks about the Pvplayer platform4. Seems hard to find too. See:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=286803
Í found it and attached it to this post.
Maybe it's the same as this Philips Platform4 player for PPC (doesn't install on SP, prolly need manual install or cloning from PPC emu):
http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=513
Would be nice if someone manages to install and test these apps on S710
Below are the registry settings for HTC Streaming Media Player.
Ýou find it in the distro which I linked at the top, it's in a68b298c-c2c5-409c-a145-3113bcf2baa1.rgu
I'm a bit worried that there are keys missing, in particular MIME settings for .3gp files
PS: Who knows a good registry tool which can import files?

A Major Breakthrough Again
Do we still need to do the wmp10 registry hack?
That hack from hkppc was actually intended for Pvplayer.
In fact you see similar keys in a68b298c-c2c5-409c-a145-3113bcf2baa1.rgu
For example
Code:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PROTOCOLS\Handler\rtsp]
"CLSID"="{EA48DF9C-1362-41F2-BD83-B97507F9484B}"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EA48DF9C-1362-41F2-BD83-B97507F9484B}]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{EA48DF9C-1362-41F2-BD83-B97507F9484B}\InprocServer32]
@="RtspHandler.dll"
"ThreadingModel"="Free"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/sdp]
"Extension"=".sdp"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\URLProtocols\rtsp]
@=""
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\rtsp\Shell\Open\Command]
@="StreamingPlayer.exe %1"
But I haven't been able to test it, because I'm looking for a registry editor which can import files. Do you know one?
Total Commander
Do a Google search for total commander for ppc. I believe that's what you need!
I've got TC, never knew I can import reg files Thx for that!
EDIT: Import doesn't work when I copy a .reg file to \\\registry it says "function not supported"
I'm using TC/CE V.2.5PB
Btw: did you already try Pvplayer and Philips Platform4 player ?
PvPlayer Opens At Youtube Mobile
The Player open when I click on video, but no video will play, but I believe we can get this to work. It's just a matter of time, because it picks up the rtsp url. I will have to take a brake, maybe one for hr. I will be back later! We will get this player to work! I have this player install on a Dell Axim X51v, connection, wifi. The Playr is beautiful!
Pvplayer Trying To Connect
Something is blocking this player from connecting to the Youtubue videos!
I'll try them in the M$ PPC emu t'morrow.
Enough for 2day
PvPlayer Smartphone Version
Do you have the pvplayer smartphone version? The ppc pvplayer version is suppose to work with YouTube mobile, but for some unknown reason it will not connect!
I managed to install the HTC Streaming Media for Smartphone Version 2.10 (Build 518.700) Copyright 2005-2007 on my S710
When I start IE and go to m.youtube.com and start a video, the HTC player is correctly started and plays the videos
I must say I'm not so impressed by the quality but alas it works fine
Okay, here are the steps to install the player on your S710
1. Download the HTC player from here. Unpack it and copy all files to \Windows
2. Install Resco Explorer 5.32 (it's the registry editor you need)
3. Download the registry key which I attach to this message and import it with Resco reg editor
Have fun!
EDIT:
1. also works fine from Opera Mobile 8.65b
2. you can operate the player buttons with Fakecursor (altho via menus it also works perfect)
3. you may want to reduce the pre-buffer time (default 7 sec)

Video Streaming Question

what is the most effective way to stream video on your PPC
i ve got a tytn II.
my question:
1. How do I use the 'streaming media' program that asks for rtsp:\\?
2. I also want to stream video directly from my PC from my tytn. i had to set my PC as a VPN server for my tytn to view the shared media file but it wouldnt play anything. I could only view the files.

I have the HTC network plugin installed which allows me to view all my shared files and folders from my desktop on my device. I use TCPMP to access my desktop shared files and folders to view my appropriately converted videos and listen to my desktop's music collection. (All this at home over WIFI connection.
When away from home but still using WIFI (any open unlocked WIFI hotspot) I use Winamp remote which I can leave running on my desktop at home. Logon to winamp remote from winamp remote website using my internet browser on my device and access my shared folders (had to direct to these specific folders using Winamp remote from desktop first) and view videos or listen music on my device which are on my desktop computer at home.
thanks for the reply. i tried the HTC network plugin. it looks like a promising little tool but it fails to detect my PC i am afraid.
i am also curious as to why I can ONLY view the shared files on my PC while doing a search through the 'file explorer' over a VPN connection seeing that my Tytn II and my PC are on the same network? this seems unneccesary and I think is the reason why the network plugin wont detect any PC on the network.
not sure what I am doing wrong.
p.s. the TCPMP woulnt install on my tytn II either.
I installed the tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab . it gives me an error msg "unexpected program failure.please send crash.txt to developers"
i am using WM6.1

I'm surprised it won't install. Download it from another site and try again.
strange strange - i tried the network plugin with a XDA Ignito aka HTC touch diamond and it worked like a charm. was able to detect all devices on my network and was able to run all media file using coreplayer. PERFECT
gotto thank hotrod101 for pointing me in the right direction.
so i guess i need to sort out my tytn II out - i cant say i m very happy with the device. i ve had problem with it ever since i ve updated it with WM6.1 and prior to it.
still looking forwarding to hearing from someone about the rtsp:\\ streaming media thingy bobby.

Android app DNLA Client???

Hello. I fount, that I can serve the media content from android phone through Twonky server to my PC. But I want retrograde app - the android DNLA media CLIENT - to play the streamed video or audio on my Android phone - from my PC media library.
Any idea?
Thanx!!!

I don't know much about Android...
...but I'm interested in getting an android phone, probably the HTC Desire.
Can't you just link your phone into your home network, like I've done with my WM6.5 phone? That way, you can just browse to the relevant media folder on your network from your phone and play the file via the relevant app on your phone. I do that for video and music on my WM phone.
Or does Android not allow you to link into a PC network?
Linking to a PC network over SMB/CIFS is not straightforward AFAIK:
You can browse and copy files with applications such as ES File Explorer, but that is not integrated into the file system for all applications. And You can use xyflash to stream from the network using certain protocols such as http and ftp, but not in a very user friendly way.
I'd love to see something being able to browse and stream using DNLA/UPNP or mount a SMB path in the android file system, but I haven't seen it yet. Though the latter may be possible if you device is rooted, I haven't checked that out...
Are you looking for something like AndroMote, or to go the other way around?

Just saw this post; I've been using this for a while (originally just to test it) it works well with my Buffalo Linkstation's Media server.
As I can see, there is no news about video dnla app client - only audio is possible now :/

Not necessarily.... If you have a UPnP server on your PC (TVersity, Playon, etc...) you can use PlugPlayer (plugplayer . com) as your client...
I've spent some time recently to look for a UPnP stack solution for android, so perhaps my exploration can be of use.
I found out that EyeconTroller is a nice media renderer. I only tested audio but EyeconTroller is supposed to handle videos as well.
I've tested it with two android devices: the first one runs iMediashare (media server), the second one runs EML UPnP-AV Controlpoint to act as a remote controller, and EyeconTroller runs on both devices. Using EML I was able to stream from iMediashare to EyeconTroller on both devices.
Next step is to stream from my linux box, but i don't expect any issue here (granted it is on the same subnet, which it is not for now), considering that EML discovered the iMediashare and all EyeconTroller instances without problem.
Note that for now EyeconTroller is free but might not always be (see eyecontec site).
I have a lcd tv samsung C550, they have dlna with name 'allshare', they can display music, photos and messages, but I think this only work with galaxy S, would be nice if any android phone can send text message to tv.
skifta is a great dlna client
i search for a audio only dlna client, they are all audio and video and i just want a small case to plug to my audio mixer.. without any drive i wan't to stream music directly from my phone as i can do on my tv with any NAS and skifta.

Stream pictures and videos to tablet from Mac?

So I was wondering if there was a way to stream my pictures and videos from my Mac to my Transformer. I have google music for my music so that isn't really an issue, however I'd like to be able to hook my tablet to any tv and view the pictures on my Mac. I know it's probably easier done over LANwifi but it'd be nice if I could do it anywhere.
I assume once I get my mini hdmi cable it will be easy to hook it up to the TV, but getting the media is where I am stuck.
I use Subsonic (http://www.subsonic.org) to stream all my music and video's to my phone and tablet (or any other device)...
The server can be a mac, you can access your media via the web or via an android, iphone, pc widget/app... there is a lot out there...
It doesn't support image viewing (by default), but there is a mod which enables picture viewing support...
You can take a look at http://media.schattorie.nl, apps are available in the market...
does it cost monthly?
So I just got Plex, seems to work thus far. 4.99 for the app and the server on my mac is a free d/l. Just need to see if it works over 3g now...
