I could not find this thread up here so i guess i will ask the question although i think it is stupid ill still ask it. I need to know how to make my themes show up i do the cab file install it restarts and my old theme stays on the screen what is it that i am doing wrong? Also do i have to delete the old one or do a hard reset?

Hi folks,
hope you can help me here cause my beloved german forum is dying out..
After a hard reset i was able to restore all my programs and settings quite fast (got used to it cause hard reset solved many recent problems *g*).
But suddenly neither the original file browser nor Smart Explorer can execute cab installation file.
The only changes i made might be some settings with the OS RegTweaker or AmpTweaks but cant find any that would explain it.
Anyone know the Regitry setting that might prevent user from executing cab files so i can undo this limitation?

Have you installed Documents to go app??
Because i faced the same problem when i installed the app. I dint find any way to reverse it. You would need to hard reset it again. or you will have to install apps from activesync
sorry for my question but wanted to know if anyone can help, 7 days ago bought a acer stream, I made the root and then exploring delete files by mistake apk system, of course, many things do not work now. If anyone can help they would appreciate a lot. Thanks.
You're pretty much out of luck. If you deleted the files 7 days ago, they are likely un-recoverable. If they are on the sd card, and less than a day or so, you have a chance to recover them using GetDataBack.
Your best bet is to do a factory reset to get all the files back.

these are the files I needed but when I try to run with the browser gets me close to applied force and will not let me run it. There is some solution to this?
Factory reset the phone. If you cant do it via settings, try recovery menu.

I tried to start from the menu, I did restart buttons and no screen goes black and does not reset to factory settings with some other idea?
i have installed latest version on c0kie home tab with CHT .

Look through this section for the theme you want to install and follow the instructions in the thread........
If its a particular theme your having a problem with then whoever made it will usually be more than happy to help you sort the problem.
Most themes will be provided as cab files which you should place on your device and installed (by clicking on them) from there.
Always install themes and mods to your device memory and not your sd card.

i didnt get u i have try to installed many themes.cab files but nothing happend main screen is same lock screen is same nothing happend please help step by step or give me some links to ... thanks in advance

I don't know what you are looking for, but there are lot of skins here present (in cab files)
Just download the cab's, place the cab file to your sd, navigate with your device to your map on your SD where you have store your cab files, press on the cab to install, and select internal memory as installation path. follow by a soft reset, and all will works fine.
Perhaps if you could let us know what you have tried to install and how you did it then we can figure out why its not working.

hi i have Omega Rom nd then i have installed Co0kie HomeTab latest with CHT latest
nd then now im trying to install .cab themes but the problem is just clock and some options changes but main affect is same like lock screen isnt change and background is not changed whats the prob thanks in advance
nd one more thing when i install .cab file its not asking me that where to save it in sd card or where its installing automatically as u said install it in phone memory but its not possible becuase its installing auto i dont know where
ok first of all the wallpaper you l will need to change by yourself,
go to the cht menu and select set wallpaper.
make sure you have the cht lockscreen enabled by installing cht editor and enabling it using that.
if the cab is automatically installing then thats because the creator has set it to install to device so don't worry.
some themes come in separate cabs for clocks and other things so maybe you could post the cabs here and ill have a look at what they are meant to be changing.
try asking in the theme thread for help because if its an issue with the theme then someone else has probably had the problem before.

BE CAREFUL...
Before you enable CHT lockscreen... BE SURE you DO NOT have a PIN CODE enabled to unlock your phone....becuase you could be forced to do a Hard Reset.
I recomend you that you read very carefuly the CoOkie Home Tab thread to have clear how it works.
Then, as our friends said, you must ask for help in the thread of the theme you would like to install for specific instructions.

Before i start i just wanted to let you guys know, i did my best to search around the forum using the search bar and manually, read all of the guides and tut's, read other peoples problems and tried their solutions
nothign seems to be working.
im on a Pantech Sky Vega IM-A650S.

but nothing seems to be working. my phone is z4rooted, and now when my phone boots its just black and plays the original boot sounds.
im doing this through the ROOT EXPLORER method,
i was trying to get the alienware boot animation someone created here to work on my phone and it just stays black.
i have stretched the images like in the tutorial, used the "imageresizer/Boot animation Creator"
i place it on my sdcard, then click mount r/w and move it to the media folder where it replaces the original bootanimation.zip
- in an attempt i actually tried renaming it just to "bootanimation" (without the .zip) and placing it in my "bins" folder because i noticed that there was a file there as well. looks like it made my situation worse.
all i really want to do is learn that way i can start making boot animations other people may want to use.
0 i know it was stupid of me not to make a backup of the original bootanimation, but i have the files needed to factory reset this phone.
the resolution is 480 x 800 ( i tried this resolution as well as the others )
Help would be greatly appreciated, i only ever ask a question once and thats when im at a complete loss

- just installed i see that its kind of a manager for boot animations, but how would i get that specific boot animation to work.?

Bump, I'm on the same situation. Even the app for the bootanimations wont play the selected animation.
I'm trying via terminal, pushing the zip through the ADB, I've just modified the stock bootanimation images and saved as PNG-8, zipping the folfer with 7-Zip and selecting store instead of compressing...

hi. first I am still a rookie @ this. I have a phone that I have root access to. I would like to remove a few apps from the phone and add a few apps to the phone that I want to be there on the phone if I were to do a factory reset on the device.
how would I do that? I cant seem to figure out what I am looking for.
I found some threads on here on adding/removing apk files, but I don't think I am on the right threads.
