http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=439399
will try now but.. use search !

Here is a simpler method.
1. Install CYBERDE Manila2D WeatherCities Editor_1.2.1 (Cab file attached below) to add whatever city you want to the database. I downloaded this cab more than a year ago from some thread of Elf/Elfin and still works like a charm on my Mega.
2. You'll need the Accuweather code of your city in the above editor, which is in this form "NAM|US|NY|NEW YORK" (for USA) and "EUR|IT|IT005|MODENA" (for other countries). To find the code for your city, go to http://www.accuweather.com/rss-center.asp, input your city name in the field "Choose a Location" and you will find the accuweather code in the field "Current Conditions & Two-Day Forecast URL". The code for Tauranga, for example, is OCN|NZ|NZ000|TAURANGA
3. Enjoy.

Problems getting weather updates

Hi hopefully someone can help me.
I live in Biggleswade in the UK and want to get weather updates for my HTC Touch.
I use HTC Home Customizer and have visited Accuweather and got the town code.
I filled in the details as follows
City: BIGGLESWADE
Location Code: EUR|UK|UK105|BIGGLESWADE (with no spaces in)
Country: UK (i have tried United Kingdom but with no success)
I then choose this as my default location and ensure the database is on custom as prompted.
I then cancel out (as there is no exit choice from the weather menu)
Then exit out of the customizer.
When i try to retrieve weather info it always says unable.
Any help please?

Add Cities to AccuWeather

Hello to everyone, i`m a newb here but i`ve found a way tho add new cities to AccuWeather. I´ve just upgraded my phone to TNT.20273 Series "BETA" (Vanilla/Official/Professional), and one if the thigs that i would like it`s to have my city on it, So searching in this forum and in the internet i found a simple way to do what i whanted.
I find the file on my phone called HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml that is in the windows directory copied to my computer opened with notepad, be carefull that it`s read only you have to take this protection off go.
"Then go to accuweather.com and search for your city. In the url in the address bar, after it says .com, there will be a section that goes something like /us/”state name”/”city name”, where state and city names are the names of your state and city. If you live in the US, you location code will begin with the prefix NAM and will be like this: NAM|US|”state name”|”city name”. Europe’s prefix is EUR and will be like this EUR|”country name”|”country area”|”city name”. It is similar for other continents and countries" (thanks to this forum for this part)
And i`ve added a new comand line similler to another that i have from my country
Ex: <city name="Leiria, PT" loca="EUR|PT|PO011|LEIRIA" land="Portugal"/>
the original was:
<city name="Lisboa, PT" loca="EUR|PT|PO012|LISBOA" land="Portugal"/>
Close notepad put the permitions on read only, see in your phone if the program (accuwather) is working or not on task manager, copy the file you have just made to the windows directory on your phone replacing the one that exists, soft reset and it`s done. It worked on my Wizard.
For security if something goes rong it`s better you make a backup of the file , in case you do something rong.
Hope it helps
On accuweather.com I can't find in the address bar the right code ...
I need the city: GAETA but if i search this siti the result is this in the address bar: accuweather.com/it/it/lazio/gaeta/quick-look.aspx?cityid=213297
Why????
same for me. I couuldnt see the country and city code in the url bar

[REQ] HTC Weather - Add a custom city

Android developers,
There is an app for windows mobile that allows users to add any custom city that has a code on www.accuweather.com see link below: -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=546141
I’m assuming that the database used for android is the same SQL Database, any chance a similar app can be developed for Android?
I’m sure it can be done manually using a SQL database editor, but for that the android device would have to be rooted.
better try Weather Widgets
There used yr.no database (huge one), as I tested this app, there were no mistakes in forecasts.

I too would love that someone develop this. My city is not listed in the stock HTC weather widget. However it does exist in the accuweather database. When I was using my Jade (WM) I could add my city using several apps. I've been searching all around in the android forum but so far to no avail. Thanks
Quiet a grave-dig, but searching the forum i didn't find another thread that would answer this question. Did anyone find a solution for HTC weather - how to add city to the database?
Please help, i am very interested for this solution, and just can't believe that Windows users have such functionality and Android doesn't.
An answer and a question:
Answer - The DB is in SQLite format and is stored (on my DINC, at least) in the data\data\htc.provider.weather\files folder as WP_0409WWE.db.
Get a SQLite editor (I got the free SQLiteExpert Personal edition) and edit the locationlist table. You can look at other entries to get the gist of the data entries you need. Just be careful that you get the timezone info and the Accuweather codes (in the "code" colum) correct.
Caveat - You will need a rooted phone and Root Explorer in order to copy the db to your PC and put it back on the phone.
Now for the question - Has anybody else had the clock/weather widget on the home screen get "lost"? The "current" location is usually right on the money. Just noticed a little bit ago that it is now showing Simpson Bay. By the temp and weather, obviously Simpson Bay, St Maarten (don't I wish!)
Everything else, Google, Google Maps, etc, shows my correct location (Charlotte, NC). But the weather widget insists that I am on St Maarten. Wishful thinking I guess...
Same here HTC Desire, a smaller town about 15 miles away, it's really random when it 'lies' but it is quite annoying, also it may be a conspiracy but it seems to mostly do it when I'm trying to show off the awesomeness of the phone to BB and iPhone friends.

walk in your own sketchup 3D model with google cardboard virtual reality

This post makes a link between subjects found elsewhere, to allow you to walk in a Sketchup 3D model.
- Install Google Sketchup 2016 (or 2015) on your PC, it's free on Google
- Install OBJ2VR on your Android phone, it's free on GooglePlay
- Unzip the file attached to this post and copy the file "OBJexporter.rb" in the folder "C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2016\Tools"
- (it is a simple text file with .rb extension, you can read the program in it, it will create a new menu item in the File menu of Sketchup.)
- Open Sketchup
- Suppress the character displayed in the Sketchup start model, otherwise it will be included in your exported model
- In Sketchup open the menu "Window / 3D warehouse"
- Choose a 3D model, not too heavy, not too complicated at first, and import it into your Sketchup workspace
- you can as well create your own 3D model
- Be careful to place your model at the axis origin, the best is to have the origin (0, 0, 0) inside your model, otherwise it may be difficult to find into obj2vr
- Save the Sketchup file in your preferred folder with a name not too long with no spaces
- In Sketchup select menu "File / OBJexport..." (just created by the .rb file), it will immediately create your OBJ model
- Wait for the end of all actions, you can follow the process in the status bar
- You will find a new folder within the folder of your Sketchup file, which contains .obj, .mtl (material) and textures files (if any)
- Copy this new folder in a folder named "3Dmodels" on the root of your SD card on your Android phone
- launch OBJ2VR
- put your VR Cardboard with your phone inserted into it
- select or unselect the option "scaled" top left to switch between 2 ways of walking through your model
- navigate into the folders and select the .obj file you just created
- you're in, aim the feet to walk, the arrows to go up and down, have fun
Dear Jean Dupont,
This ruby script worked great with Sketchup 2016 and the '3d model viewer for cardboard' app. The exported textures look great. I was able to walk around a few large models that I have built. The 'Glass/transparent' textures were the only ones that completely disappear.
If you zipped the attached ruby script it would be easier to download. As it is the browser opens it up and displays it as text.
I only wish the '3d model viewer for cardboard' app on the Play store had a more precise walking mode. When you get close to a wall the walking icon is projected beyond the wall.

Hello droidtomtom,
It is true that the OBJ2VR '3d model viewer for cardboard' is not the ideal walk through application, but it has the advantage to exist, and it is the only one I found so far. Any newcomer in this 3D walk through business would be highly welcome. The best would be an app that handles directly a Sketchup file...
I followed your advice and zipped the .rb file.
Regards,
