Custom Transition Animations! (video) UPDATED WITH METAMORPH - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

Taken from here. I spent several hours today (at work lol) blending fold, fly-in and bounce to get it how I liked it I'll make an flushable zip for people upon request because everyones framework will be different with themes/roms etc.
this is a link to a zipped anim folder you can replace by
Code:
adb shell
# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
#exit
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Then open up the res.apk with your choice archive manager. Replace the /framework-res.apk/res/anim folder with the one I've provided.
Reboot into recovery and
Code:
adb shell
#mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
#exit
adb push yoursdk/tools/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
I hope this makes sense and you guys like it
Here is a ****ty vid of it running on my Epic (also runs on my EVO)
I've attatched a zip for MIUI 1.29 with the auto-brightness fix included.

Would this work for my incredible Running virtuous 3.1.0 with rule the air? Looks really sick and would love to have this on my phone

this looks great, but i get boot loops also. I have a sense deodexed rom from the 10/13/10 release. does it work on this rom? Also i used the zip file transition.zip and used metamorph. i would really like to get this installed.

Ive use this with the skyraider 3.3.2 with success. No boot loops. Keep up the great work.

How long do you watch the loops before reboot? Set you're phone down and wait awhile

flashing an update.zip with these files will undo any theming you have done that involve your framework and you will be stuck with the other persons framework. Its really not a hard process to get these working without using a flashable zip. Are you familiar with adb?

[THEME] Gala S Ported CM6 Stable Updated (Complete!!) (10/11/2010)

So I'm getting closer to making a hdpi to mdpi porting method. This is really just a teaser and I might post it as a WIP tonight or tomorrow night for CM-6 stable. Soon I might have a way to port more of the HDPI themes and not have any 9 patch issues (excited yet?).
All credit goes to Haxzamatic for the awesome theme he created, I'm only responsible for the port, and every one should thank him for a very well done theme. This is the op for the Original Gala S Theme
This is only ported to CM6 stable I doubt I'll do nightlies. I will include all the gapps and the font in the next update. Then it's off to other HPDI themes. I'll take request.
Update 3: Worked out the last final kinks and this theme is completely ported. I left out the gallery theming since it seems to be from a different gallery3d or atleast the res folder structure and where and what pngs are themed doesnt match up. Gapps are fully theme since gapps has hdpi and mdpi folders the script was getting confused with this when porting the pngs over.
Update 2: Ok everything is ported over, this means all 9 patches. The dialer and the keyboard now fit along with a whole lotta other stuff. I will probably be moving on to another theme to further refine my theme porting process (some day I might release this). I also have various other scripts I will release to help the other themers. I also renamed the file with mdpi instead of hdpi... it makes more sense.
Update 1: Well its seems that my 9 patch porting does work but the apktool recompile does not (wasted the whole day trying o understand this). This has made is some what harder to transfer the ported 9 patch files. All gapps are in the the update.
The framework-res has been ported 9 patches and all, I have the other apps 9 patches ported but I'm super tired and crashing but I'll push them tomorrow give some feed back.
Install:
1. Copy to the root of your sd card
2. reboot into recovery.
3. flash the zip file.
4. give Sprint the finger.

Thank you sir, The porter is coming together, but I might still have to hand do some of the 9 patches here but most of them came over fine.
I have been working on a way to shrink 9 patches with out screwing up the 9 patch info... its not totally working correctly but I have not pulled all the tricks out yet.
The porting script though works great. I don't have the patience to do full themes, as a developer I need something more focused, so this has been a nice challenge I just sit back and watch the script do all the work . I do enjoy gimping and maybe one day I'll sit down and make a theme its just that when I do think I have a good idea I look around here and some ones already done it, like the f-ing Simpson's.

HoneyComb Boot Animation

I'm not sure if this has been posted here and I'm not taking credit, all I'm doing is bringing this over from AC
Boot zip(place in system/customize/resource folder) using root explorer or something similar.
Using CM roms, place zip in system/media - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NMC0ZHLC
DON'T FORGET, IF YOU'RE MOVING THE ZIP, TO ALSO RENAME OR MOVE WHATEVER BOOTANIMATION ZIP YOU ARE CURRENTLY RUNNING
Enjoy!
EDIT Removed the link for the flashable zip since people are saying it's not working. Again, this is not my work and I simply moved the bootanimation zip using root explorer. It's very simple.
Thank you ill flash it right now
Let's take a look...
Thanks for posting, but this really isn't anything new. I've seen this boot animation on several ROMs before.

You have to use an app like root explorer or adb because you are replacing protected system files. You wont be able to just copy and paste through windows.

[ClockWorkMod] for the SGS4G Public Beta 3 [05/12/2011]

Code:
Beta2 change log:
complete rework of recovery.fstab.
rework of recovery source
CWM now fully up to date with latest version
and more
drhonk and I are proud to bring to you CWM3 for the SGS4G.
Now, before I post this, We are not responsible for any bricks.
Issues:
/system mounts, however it doesn't unmount to be able to format during a restore.
What works:
FULL ROM FLASHING!!! Backup, Advanced Restore of Data and Cache, Flashing zips (mods, boot animations, kernels, modems, etc), Error reporting and everything else but full restore due to the system issue.
How to get to recovery: Power Menu Mod, Quick Boot App, adb reboot recovery, 3 button salute.
What you will need to do:
Use Root Explorer, Android Commander, Droid Explorer or what ever else is out there to replace the recovery binary in /system/bin with the one attached. This will allow you to flash the update.zip from stock recovery.
After the file is replaced reboot the phone.
Put the update.zip on your external SD, boot into recovery and choose the 2nd Option to flash update.zip from SD.
This will boot you into CWM.
Biggest change from 2.5.1.2 to 3.x:
your normal zips will not work on this CWM or any future CWM for that matter. CWM3 has been updated to only allow edify updater-scripts. You will need to modify all of your update-scripts to be in the edify format. I will need to find a link on how to do this and post it in this thread.
More updates to follow. This is just to hold everyone over for now. Again, please do not complain that you can not restore or ( flash a full rom (untested)). This is a known issue, and is actively being worked on. drhonk and I worked on this all day and are tired.

[BOOTANIMATION] DukeOS Bootanimation (Duke Nukem Forever)

Hey guys...
Thanks to despotovski01's thread "How to make your own bootanimation" and a little magic (thanks to the pre-release demo of Duke Nukem Forever), I was able to create something awesome... the DukeOS Bootanimation
I may borrow despotovski01's instructions (sorry pal)...
Root Explorer method:
1. Rename your boot animation to bootanimation.zip
2. Put it on your SD card
3. Open Root Explorer and copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media. This will replace the existing boot animation
4. Reboot your phone
ADB method:
1. Make sure you have downloaded android sdk
2. Put android sdk in C:\
3. Set the directory of command prompt to C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools. Click here for a video tutorial.
4. Rename your boot animation to bootanimation and put it in C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools
5. Open cmd
6. Type in order:
-adb remount
-adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
-adb reboot
it is available in both lo-res (takes less space and loads way faster)
and hi res versions (seems to load faster? )
lo-res: http://www.multiupload.com/860L1GJE31
hi-res: http://www.multiupload.com/D9ON73WTG4
http://www.stilbruch.at/2011/06/bootanimation-dukeos-bootanimation-duke.html
preview:
I hope my dear friends from Gearbox software aren't mad at me for that... It is just another promotion for the awesome upcoming Duke Nukem Forever (10th July 2011 International, 14th July 2011 US)!
I don't own any of the rights on the graphics!
BTW: I think it would perfectly fit honeycomb
good bootani....thanks!!
This works good. Thank you.
I get a faster reboot when I use the hi-res boot animation. I like this.

You are using stock rom, have u root your Tab? If not, you will never have the chance to use this wonderful boot animation.
If u want to root, use Chainfire CF root which support the bootimation inside the /data/local/ this saveu more space in /system.

I suppose you could try changing the boot animation.zip to bootani.qmg, but I'd either change the old bootani.qmg file name to oldbootani.qmg or backup elsewhere in case it doesn't work.
Use root explorer to copy it to the place you need (it allows you to change permissions from R/O to R/W).
Easy...
Hmmm... I'm afraid to try it and get into a boot loop. CWM isn't playing nice and for some reason doesn't want to backup my current rom.
I also dont have a working comp to odin fix it if it does screw things up.
Dang it. I really want this bootup too!

Just drop the zip file into the media folder. Make sure the permissions match and I'm 90% sure the rom will just use it instead. At worst you be no better off if you follow but I'm sure it will work. Absolute system tools has a feature that does it all for you and has 100s of animations.

Just tried the absolute app. It's very cool but doesn't even see where the bootani is either.

The high res seems to work on and off on my CM7 nightlies Evo4G. But the low res works without a problem. Both seemed to load about the same speed without any hesitations (when the high res would load). Nice work though, thanks for the work! I even like the fact it loads in landscape instead of portrait!

Its best not to push with ADB if you can avoid it. Use the flashable version and flash via CM Recovery. I've run into a lot of issues with pushing framework-res.apk. Its much more reliable when flashed, and leads to fewer errors and crashes.
