will do first thing in the morning. downloading the rom from megaupload says it'll take over an hour. going too slow. if it finishes i'll upload the clock.apk to my web server so you can have a direct link. any other files you think you'd need?

I'm going to download the Rom because it looks like I'm going to need some framework files.

I've got a lot of files for the Mytouch4g In my DropBox Folder I'll post a link to the folder so you can grap the Needed Files.

I added 3 files from the framework. Let me know if you need any other files
http://www.4shared.com/file/477baA-z/Framecomframep.html

I tried pushing it through adb in recovery and the app force closes when I try to open it.
can the dependencies in the framework files be added to our existing framework? I would like this app but not willing to let go of my heavily modified framework...
Swyped from my HTC Evo 4G on the MetroPCS 1X network!

The force close cause sense to restart which I think is because it needs files from framework that aren't there. I will mess around with a bit tonight and see what I come up with

do you think it's gonna be possible to trick it into thinking the evo framework is the desire framework?

Replacing the existing one without root is impossible, I'm not sure how much it would take to make a separate APK that coexists, but it's as simple as editing a .png file.
It should be easily doable with Metamorph, if/when it works with the Nexus One/2.1
Its insanely easy with root access. Doubt anything can be done easily without root access.
It might work without root. Just open up the .apk (from a system dump somewhere), and edit the .png's to be transparent. Then repack the .apk, and try installing it with Astro. I doubt it will work, being that it's a system app... but hey, give it a shot.
Is the one on your screenshot from a metamorph theme? If it is, link me to it, and if I have any time soon I will see about theming the one for the Nexus (not the Dream port) with the same .png's, and upload it here.

I wasn't sure, was thinking the way Google Maps got replaced by the new version in the market.. but a different name would work, just a second one (we gots a little ram to play with now).

No idea, the person that posted the screenshot it never responded with people asked for it.
To get the transparent background, just open up the .apk, go to the drawable-hdpi folder, and make the 3 appwidget_dark_by.9.png transparent. At least I think that is the name of them. To install on /data/app/ it will have to be resigned and I still don't know if it will install to there with you still having the one in system/app/ because you can't rm it without root access.
http://www.mediafire.com/?yzlmjwmktdo
That's the transparent version. (I Pm'd him)
Whenever I try to install it on the N1 it says unable to replace.

Deinstalled the non-transparant version, installed this one and it worked perfectly (on a MT3G). Thanks for the link!!
the one that worked for the mt3g probably will not replace the images on the n1 because for the mt3g the widget background images are in drawable-mdpi, not hdpi. also, the easiest (well if you are comforable with adb) way to install is
adb remount
adb push AppName.apk /system/app/AppName.apk

Droid X Modified Gallery by WJD

I set out to edit my first system file because I was annoyed by it. The stock gallery in the Droid X has the worst background that should be fully black to help the rendering process. Instead of the application rendering some horrible gradient background it should just render the thumbnails, so I changed that real quick. Next up was the photo frame widget that the gallery uses. I love the black frame look seen in other gallery apps, so I took the white and changed it to a slick black gradient frame with a slight shadow. Granted this is NOT a huge modded thing – it will be a great addition to any Droid X, enjoy!
*Note – This may work with other FROYO devices out there – so please test and comment!*
UPDATE.ZIP Method proves to be working perfectly so try this method first!
Download ZIP File by going here...
*UPDATED METHOD*
1. Download Zip
2. Place on SD Card of device
3. Boot into recovery (clockwork recovery or other custom recovery)
4. Install Zip from SD Card
5. Locate “WJDGalleryMod.zip.zip” and click install
6. Reboot and ENJOY
Download APK File if need be - Here
Is this deoxed?
This is deodexed yes - and now the new update.zip method for clockwork is up
download link for zip appears wrong or its just me that gets the page cannot be found
Is it for 2.2 or 2.1?
2.2 right now... just updated link to file sry....working
Love it! Goes great with the theme I'm building for myself...
EDIT:
Found one flaw. On your zip file you put the MediaGallery.apk in the framework folder instead of the app folder. You might want to change that...
Works perfectly! The load time for media in the gallery seems to be greatly decreased! Thank you

Just realized, the two times i tried on rooted 2.2 OTA, I wasn't deodexed. You think that did it? I tried to just apply the zip from SD. I loved the look of the keyboard but it takes me so long to get stuff on my DX working, so I don't want to be stuck at M again (am now rooted and deodexed).
----------------
That must be it. I just tried on rooted/deodexed 2.2 OTA and it booted right up no problem.
So does this replace my existing Blackglass theme, or just replace the lame gallery? Sorry if that's obtuse, but I just started with this stuff.

[Request] Inspire 4G BIOS bootanimation

Just about every Android phone has this and I wouldn't be surprised if someone is already working on it, but could someone port it over? I'm sure the Desire HD one would work fine, but I would like my phone to say Inspire 4G.
Sorry, tried to make one for the first time and it just loaded as a blank screen. I will keep doing my homework and figure it out!

Generate one with the info you want and I'll alter the name of the phone for you. Just put the zip here I'll download it and get it back to you tomorrow night.
As far as an actual generator, I don't have a web site to host it on. I am currently leaning to Java script and visual C++. So I don't have the capabilities to make one but I can alter it for you. So all you have to do is paste it in your data>local folder.
Here they are, I went ahead and made one of each if you want to do both in case someone else wants the original loading screen. If you don't, I want the XP one.
I am working on them should be done within the next day.
update: currently looking for the a font package. Harder to find then you think.
any progress?
I still haven't found a matching font. If any one can find a matching font, and put it in a zip for me. I can have it done and ready to flash in about an hour.
I'll try and find it, looks like a basic sans, did you try Google Sans font that was made?
Update: Here we go, looks a little rougher but my guess is because it's a much larger size on my monitor.

Thank you I will work on it late today .

They are being beta tested right now. I have AR 4g w/xp & without/xp, and CoreDroid v3.2 w/my custom xp boot and without/xp boot.
update: as of right now after editing them the png files are to large for the extra xp boot animations but I am working to fix that with out loosing the quality of the png file.
NM, I got it.... the zip file cannot be compressed. lol
HI, could I just copy the zip file over the original bootanimation zip. I am using an att inspire 4g and the rom is a honeysense hd 6.2 rom

Search the forum for "bootanimation" first before asking please, but...
Backup your stuff!!!
It a good idea to first rename your original to bootanimationold.zip or similar then you can just leave it where it is.
You'll need to have a file explorer like es, or root explorer. Copy the .zip file to the root of your sd, then go into said explorer with root permissions, move the file "bootanimation.zip" to system/media/ then set permissions to rw-r-r, and reboot.

Honeycomb Wallpaper Gallery

this is my 2nd attempt at helping the evo community and i hope some of you guys can help me out with some small stuff.
What it is-
This is a modified version of the CMwallpapers.apk, instead of having the CM wallpapers though it has the wallpapers pulled from a honeycomb system dump since those wallpapers are becoming very popular these days.
a big props goes out to lost.eden in the G1 forums making me a wallpaper gallery when i had my vogue rom i used his modified version in order to make the custom changes needed to create this. along with Whoever made the apk for CM.
YOU MUST UNINSTALL CMwallpapers.apk before installing this or it will not install

apk is attached its signed so just install it through a file explorer, i might make a flashable .zip if i get time tomorrow.
IMPROVEMENTS: this is where i would like some help if possible from the talents in this community, since this has the same package name as CMwallpapers it cant be installed side by side but when i tried changing it in the manifest it FC's anybody have a solution to this. If i get this figured out i can make more galleries like this for other ROMS
installing now!!! very nice.. thanks dude!

I got it working fine on CM7 RC2 right now. Not sure about the nightlys. I dont see why not though.

Personally I find it a brilliant idea. Instead of posting various wallpapers on my theme threads due to requests from people using the theme, this creates a central location for the most requested wallpapers that go with the theme and it is now built into the theme.
As just a casual user, it may not be as practical as the wallpapers included don't match your style. But for people using my theme it is very useful.
On a side not, Rom's like Deck's version of CM7 for the Evo and AospCmod for the Hero no longer include CMWallpapers as they consider it bloatware, so deleting apk's there is not necessary.
okay so here is just a little update on this,
so after talking to a couple of people on here
so their is no way to make the existing .apk able to be installed along side of the existing CMwallpapers.apk so a whole new one would have to be created in eclipse, with my current skill level that is a bigger task than once thought, but if their is one thing i have learned on here its that anything can be done with enough tenacity.
again i know some users on here wont care at all but i figured i would give you an update for those that do

ICS keyboard finally using BlindType technology!! :D

It took me a while to start trusting it with predictions because I was so used to Swype, but I started noticing little by little how it just kept catching little typos and correcting them exactly with what I meant.
So I opened up a new text file and put it to the test. IT IS FKIN AMAZZINGG!! Pardon my excitement, but I think Google missed out by not promoting the heck outta this
Also, if you set the Auto correction setting to Aggressive, its even better.
Where did you find it?

Apparently a lot of ppl are asking if this is it too, based on a 'blindtype ics' Google search. After seeing the blindtype demo again though, this may not actually be thaaaat good.. but it's reeeally good I think.

Ok so after the kind person told me about the lib file lol i was able to pull and push it and BAM! working android ICS keyboard Lol i uploaded everything to a zip if i knw how to make into a flashable zip i would so ill tell you how to do it adb lol
unzip the files
go to your adb directory in cmd window
type adb remount
enter
then adb push (drag file into cmd window) /system/app
enter
adb push (drag other apk file in cmd window) /system/app
enter
adb push (drag lib.so into cmd window) /system/lib
enter
and from there you can fix permission in recovery or jus test with you fix permission
i did a fix permission to be sure hope it works
KBICS is a flashable zip, so put in sdcard and go into recovery and flash it like any zip, i would backup just incase, i took the update.zip from the theme section place the proper files, so thanks to the dev for that
