well if you just want to downgrade you could try flashing a previous rom or something (or using odin to go to a previous state). theres alot of ways to go with it i think. did you try clearing all the system data? do you have a nandroid backup?
i would appreciate it if you show me how to. a link or a video. thanks.
i think u didnt explore more in xda developer about sgs update. there is a bunch of froyo version u can choose n try on. depend on what version of u sgs. try download jpk or jpm which is very stable n compatible to any version/region sgs people using. try seach at youtube.com maybe there u can find n watch how they update. i like to teach u if u are willing to learn.

Dear Friends,
I happened to have a perfectly working rooted SGS running JPK on Froyo until a while ago. When I tried installing fonts with typefresh. This is where everything went haywire. The phone now doesn't want to boot. It says SGS I9000 and vibrates there 4 times and repeats the vibrating cycle. I want the phone to be working again else my mother will murder me. I tried going to the recovery mode and tried to do a factory restore but that didn't help. Tried to reflash the custom ROM I downloaded from this site (can't find that link) using ODIN but it doesn't work either. While reflashing I did not check the repartition tab. What are the possible solutions here?? KIES doesn't detect phone in download mode. Is there any link from where I can download the factory shipped froyo rom and try reflashing the same via ODIN.
Guys please help it has now turned into a Black Screen Of Death. Though I can still go back to Download mode....please help guys this is getting from bad to worse....
Update: The phone now only goes to download mode...
BUMP! Please guys a few hours before mom comes home from work...
Try flashing a 2.1 firmware with Odin.
Google samfirmware.
Sent from my GT-I5700 using XDA App
You could also try flashing
Froyo that does not brick
and then flash to JI6
EDIT:
Do you have the drivers set up for your device?
Also, What device are you using? The SGS line has many phones. My advice above was dependent on it being a Vibrant
Yes I do have the drivers for my device. I'll be trying 2.1 in a while. What are the chances of Samsung giving me a replacement for the device??
I live in India. We don't get the Vibrant here. It's just plain old Samsung Galaxy S GTi9000

If you can reach download mode, find you favorite firmware in one of the guides on XDA, and using Odin flash it.
If you know what firmware you were on, you can also just reflash the PDA file of that firmware. The PDA file is Packages inside the rar file you download from samfirmware.com
Best thing is to find a guide, and follow it.
I'd JPK before things went haywire. I'm wondering what's the difference between JPK and JPM. Which one should I go for??
I'm planning to flash to JM8 then doing either JPK/JPM. Is this fine?? Or should I directly flash with JPK/M and forget about JM8? Which one is better K or M? Anything else I need to be aware of before I take the plunge??

Hey pal.
It really doesn't matter which firmware you flash. Over the time, I realized that what works for one does not necessarily work for the other. It really is a very subjective thing.
Between JPK and JPM, the later (JPM) is the latest release. If froyo excites you, go for either JPM or even JP6 (JP6 being a day newer than JPM and recommended i suppose). If eclair suits your use, I would suggest JM9

Eclair - JM9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=802909

It really is not difficult flashing firmwares on the i9000. Just follow the instructions from the thread to the dot and you are all set to go. In the same breath, I would also go as far to suggest that you stay away from custom ROM's till you get familiar with the process of flashing ROM's and troubleshooting (in case anything goes wrong). Stick to the stock ROM's and you should be good to begin with.
Do update on your progress.
Cheers.....
Fixed it. Flashed JPK everything working now! Thanks for all the tips and inputs!
I was trying to flash a kernel that i found in a forum, i tried with Voodoo, my phone was already rooted. Then i heard a female robot voice saying something about "partition" and a process that was gonna take like ten min. From then, the google logo pops up and nothing will happen. i cant put it in download or recovery mode. now the robot voice isnt even saying anything basically just stuck on a google logo screen. I have no idea what to do. can someone please help me.
What kind of phone do you have? (Assuming Mesmerize or Showcase?) What version of Android are you on? If you come to (http://webchat.freenode.net/)(#samsung-mesmerize), it be easier to help you out. You'll need to Odin back to Stock before going forward to Voodoo lagfix.
I once biffed my phone up flashing an incapatible kernel and took it back to the store. They were happy to re-flash it for me. I also was not able.to get in recovery.
I simply told them I was trying to perform the 2.3.5 update which was listed on the site and something went wrong.
Just FYI, The voice was the kerenl enabling voodoo lag fix (a very good thing)!

Im having a problem with my Mesmerize, and I think this could help me out, but the link wont send me anywhere, can you help me out?
I think i can help u out.
K so if ur having any problems wit ur mesmerize, i'd recommend flashing back to stock rom.
Now to do this, your going to have to go to rootwiki and find the mesmerize forum.
Go to the first thread on the page, and there you can find a link to download Odin 3.1, Eh09 and Eh20 radios, and CWM 4.
To find the stock roms, theres another thread on rootzwiki that has the official USCC stock froyo and gingerbread roms.
With those downloaded, ur just gonna want to flash them on ur phone through odin. Plug phone into computer while holding the down volume the get the phone into downloading mode. Import the two files and there you have it.
Hope this solves ur problem
Blah
This phone is annoying me. Lol.
First post, and I'm sure you get this alot but I truly am sorry if this is something that's asked 20 times a day. I've spent a good bit of time searching this site and the www but can't seem to find something that addresses this specifically.
I bought a new LG Nitro from att, flashed it to ICS. Now I want to return the phone as I'm still inside my 30 days. I'm assuming I'd be better off putting Gingerbread back on it, but can't figure out how. What's the best way to do this?
Thanks again
Also, if anyone happens to know if At&t doesn't mind accepting returned phones after they've been flashed then let me know! (their return policy doesn't say anything about it)
Did you flash it by Odin or with the official Update Software brought to you by LG?
If you took Odin you really shouldnt send it back to your provider cus they might recognize that you flashed the sw.
You can downgrade your FW:
Download the Gingerbread Stock Rom you want to flash ( search in the internet or in xda )
Flash it via Odin (If you dont know how to do this --> search in the xda )
Hope I could help you =)

Did you install the adampk rom?
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda app-developers app
no I haven't...
so far , what I did is
root the pone with the one clicker (wich was a success)
did the recovery with the clockworkmod recovery thing,
restarted and exectued this website's tutorial to jellybean (start with WWW stuff.androidauthority.com/g2x-p999-t-mobile-cyanogenmod-10-cm10-unofficial-115536)
and then, look like it failed..
this morning, I managed to get back to the recovery boot screen and found that if I press the house icon it show up a menu.. but this menu giving me access to reboot, wipe cache, data or install update.zip (which was supposed to fix my problem) but this menu is blued out and unaccessible..
dunno if it helped..
right now, I am trying to get acces to my phone doing the no battery boot thing but my pc doesnt seem to recognize my phone + I am at work hehe so I am pretty much limited in acces due tu the it protection and firewall stuff
I am gonna try to redo that stuff tonight at home but meanwhile, if any of what I described may give you a clue on how to help me, I really appreciate the effort!
thanks again for the support guys, I know it can be a pain sometimes to help people screwing some beginner stuff like I probably do right now

I say you needed to use the g2x android development forums on this site to find a suitable jb rom, not this other site. The one click method isn't very stable, so nvflash is most definitely what you need to try to get working. There are very thorough tutorials on how to get that to work. Do you know which clockwork recovery version you have installed? Should be 5.0.2.0. Once you get home, I suggest you read read read. Do as much research you can to make sure you can follow nvflash instructions to the letter. I know I personally spent about a week researching to make sure I had a solid understanding of the procedure.
I recommend getting nvflash going to get clockwork properly installed, then download a rom from xda, nowhere else. I would even say use a gb rom before trying a jb ...the jb roms are hackfest versions, so they have (from my experience) much poorer battery life, and lack hardware acceleration. Netflix and many 3d games won't work. You can use adampk or mazout's roms but they don't have working radio, i.e. no phone/SMS functionality.

Boot into recovery, there should be an option to format or wipe system. Do that then flash the ROM. It won't boot if you flash it over stock.
Also, use the paranoid android rom found in the development section, same cyanogenmod base but works better.

Ok, wait I think I understand what you're saying now. If you can, pm the op of that thread you used to unbrick. Ask that person if you need some kind of different file in that .zip file to work on your carrier.
I remember having to use that guide to get back to stock. Glad to see you're making progress. I know it can be frustrating when devices get wacky. Good luck!

hehehe sorry, I am not fully used to the right terms so I rather stay in the gray zone by using words like ''thing''
but I can now oficially say I was talking about ROMs
finally, I managed to bring back my phone to the stock mode everything seem to work!
now I can brick it again!
thx for the help!

this, or... putting the simcard in the properly? !!
Ok here goes i played around tryin to root my phone the other night i used every different app on google play on all the forums and really just installed them all ..
Reason why i was tryin to root my phone with out using a pc. ( theres alot of apps going around sayin it can be donee. Anyway ive made a complete an utter mess of it.
Wont even with my telstra sim in ring msg or connect to internet. The phones useless and its my fault. Try make a call to any number and i get a msg sayin ( not registered on network ) msg same thing. Also done a full factory reset and still same thing.
So im guessing i need to some how get the s8 + sm-g995f adk original from Australia (telstra) to have any chance of my phone working again.
Please i need help with this i dont mind donating money to the xda fund or something.
Appreciate the time for who ever reads this.
Corey
Go to settings and look and see if you still have an IMEI number. If you don't you could be screwed...
Ouch....that's not god.
Rooting is easy, if you follow instructions.
As per the post above, does the phone show an IMEI?
It might be worth flashing the latest Telstra firmware. Get it from here: http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=AB08410B7CA611E7963AFA163EE8F90B
Flash using these instructions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3582175
And if you do get it working again, let us know. We can tell you how to root it properly
