Anyone else experience an issue with MMS?
I receive an MMS from someone and instead of the preview of the picture, i get a "Play" or "|>" button instead. I can long press the play button and select attachment to save, but that is a hassle.
I'm on Tatuyama using Reorient Kernel 2.1.1
I can send myself an MMS and i can view the thumbnail from w/in the thread.

Ya I get this too. Happened on stock 2.1 and through each version of Cognition I've flashed (on 2.3b1 now). I think it's just the SMS/MMS app on the phone

Anyone else noticing that the messaging shortcut from the homescreen kind of does whatever it wants? Sometimes it takes me to the threaded view of my SMS message conversations. Which is what I want. But most of the time it either takes me to the last app I had open like the back button does, or it takes me to my most recent conversation and when I hit the back button to see all my conversations I get sent back to the home screen, or it just randomly throws me into email or my music player. Can't seem to figure out why its doing that.
Hello,
My contact picture is not showing up when I set a text message. I know in previous versions of AOSP you needed to set your own phone number in call settings.
I can not find that option in ICS.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Send a message long press your empty photo and then press menu button edit and add your pic
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Set Phone Number in ICS ASOP
Actually you have to fill in the "ME" section in Contacts and be sure to add your photo. When you go back to Messages you photo will show up.

I have tried what worked in the past on other phones, such as adding myself as contact with phone number and pic but nothing is working on my new SG S3. I use handcent SMS and want my picture instead of grey box. Any tips? TIA

In handcent press menu hard key then settings then handcent services and account pic

Also I guess clicking on the grey box or scolling to the right will get you there?
Hey all, I'm having an issue with my messaging app. It only started happening within the last week or so. If i open up the Messaging App and am talking to someone but happen to leave the app actively open on the screen and simply just hit the power button, any texts I would then receive dont notify me. I have to hit the home button or switch to a different app in order to get notified i have a new text. The app seems to be automatically "reading" the text and not playing my notification sound or adding a notification on the notification bar. I'm on the latest version of ParanoidAndroid if that helps any.
Thanks in advance!

Just to rephrase incase it was confusing wording: If i have the Messaging app open when i turn the screen off, i wont get any notification that i've received a text (icon in bar, sound, vibrate) HOWEVER, if i go back to my home screen or to another app it will all function as intended.
This just started recently and out of the blue (when i was on an older paranoid android build) so i updated my rom trying to fix it so i am now on the latest and it still seems to be happening.
Final Update: I just did a full reset and flashed over to LiquidSmooth to try it out, so unfortunately i didnt find a solution to fix that specific issue.
Whenever I receive a picture in the message app, I can see the picture in the conversation but when I press on it to see it fullscreen, all I see is a kinda broken image. The image still save in the storage and when I search the location of it, it is at /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/app_parts
thanks in advance!
