NOTE: THIS IS A STOCK WWE RUU, IT WILL INSTALL WITHOUT A GOLD CARD FOR USER WHOSE ORIGINAL ROM VERSION WAS X.XX.405.X - ANYONE THAT WAS ON A DIFFERENT ROM VERSION WILL NEED TO USE A GOLD CARD

Quick first look would appear to still be HBOOT 0.93 - which CAN be rooted using unrEVOked (I did it first time using Windows 7 x64 Ultimate)

Flashed, runs fine, no new Sense and can't really see anything else new...needs Flash, Maps, Gmail and Facebook updated so not patched either...might be good to someone though

Can you upload the rooted rom would like to give it a go.

I'm not a dev so don't know how to do that...you'll have to wait

That RUU contains the last HTC Sense stock update (2.29.405.2) and the last radio update (5.11.05.27) right?
Actually I already have both of those, but that RUU could be usefull to do a fresh install?
I mean if I run that RUU will erase all (hboot, ROM, kernel, radio, data, ecc) except SD? Is like a factory reset (but with latest radio included)?

2.29.405.2 hasn't gone out on OTA AFAIK (no one reported it yet) and yes it's the latest radio. Using this RUU will return the Desire to stock so yeah it's handy to have in case you need to send it off for a warranty repair

Can i use this without root ????

Yes as it returns the unit to stock, but you can only use this on x.xx.405.x handsets (unless you use a gold card)

My software build is now 2.10.405.2
Radio is 32.44.00.32u_5.09.05.30_2
so i can use this update on my device ??? .... because i didnt receive anything from htc lately.

Well, I think this is for European unbranded desire only

I flashed it with succes
I installed it but it failed because the ruu installed some driver and needed to reboot, i thought i bricked my device ... but after pc reboot and run the ruu again the phone got updated

I have 2.10 version too. Any changes to this version?

Yeah new kernel version, new radio version etc.....i can't say anything about the battery yet

I installed now, didn't noticed anything new yet.

Nothing new is added....read my last post what got updated.

did anyone look for performance changes?
maybe they fixed broken things in the old kernel, like SD speed or bug fixes?
the version number is odd, 2.29.405.2, we had few things added jumping from 2.09 to 2.10

Random reboot nomatter what i do ??

Hi sensation forum...
I am new to sensation, but not new to android or HTC, as i have 4 different phones with custom firmware on them...
But the sensation give me a lot of problems for some reason...
I have tried ARHD 5.0.2 and Insert Coin 4.0.4, i have also tried Virtuous Inquisition v1.3.0 and HyperSensation CM7.1 v1.2.
The last one is not even ICS based...
All of them give me random reboot cycles...
I have tried 3 different radios also...
Nothing have helped me so far...
I still have a lot of random reboots...
(about every 2-10 min)
When i flash the firmware i use ARHD´s super delete script, but to be shure, i also format everything from within Recovery...
What more can i do here ??
Pleace,if your phone is stable, can you tell me exactly what rom/radio/kernal/ril you use...
My phone was rock stable with factory firmware....
Hey,
When installing roms on the sensation, make sure you follow the guides in the particular thread. It is also important to match recommended radios and rils that go with the specific rom. Make sure you are S-off and cid 11111111. When you are switching roms, you should only have to run the superwipe script, it will set all the partitions for you so that you can flash the rom you choose. Also, before you install ICS, it is recommended that you superwipe BEFORE installing the actual rom to prevent unwanted isssues. Before you do anything else, give me a rundown on what you are currently running.

I have exactly this issue.
I installed ICS Revolution. I had successfully got S-OFF, Installed ClockWork Recovery (updated to latest version), permanently Rooted & obtained SuperCID. I updated radio as recommnded by mike1986 in the ICS post, and wiped the phone with Revolution Super_wipe_Sensation first.
It seemed to run fine apart from Doplhin HD which refused to run properly (so switched to Opera Mobile). However I started to get random reboots.
After a bit I thought to try Insert Coin ICS instead.
I have noticed no real difference in performance and have the identical issue with Dophin HD (back to Opera mobile again).
However I also still have the identical random rebooting issue with this ROM. What else can I do?

I did that with Revolution as well as with Insert Coin this time around. Running the latest version
I'm having the same issue. Did a text book install of AHRD. Everything went super smoothly, but getting these reboots. I have tried to swipe everything, have the latest radio and recommended fw and keep getting these crashes. Not only it's driving me nuts but it makes the phone unuseable... I can't believe we're just 2 to have these problems... Isn't there some king of log we can pull to see what's causing the crash ?

I suspect it has to do with processor speed that's been tweaked in these roms, but can't seem to find a way to tune it back to stock on the ICS rom...
sorry for the late reply, been busy with holiday stuff.. anyhow, make sure you are NOT installing any mods that are not compatible with the current ICS build. I have had no problems switching between ARHD 3.6.10 and ICS 5.0.2. As long as you have s-off and CID 1111111, you should be good to go. When I changed up from 3.6.10 to ICS 5.0.2, I turned off my phone, went into bootloader, selected the option for recovery, then flashed the superwipe script. After it finished flashing that, it rebooted back into recovery. Following that, I went to install from zip, flashed the updated RUU, cleared cache and dalvik, then flashed ICS 5.0.1 and the 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 update. Everything installed smooth from there.

That's exactly what I did. Can't find anything different between your story and what's I did, up to when I switched to Insert Coin
I also don't think it's related to CPU speed. My phone is the XE model which ran at 1.5 Ghz on stock ROM and only did about 3 random reboots in 3 months; (now it's every couple of hours).

Good luck. Hope it helps. Let us know the outcome. My nandroid backup is corrupted so will need to do full wipe of my SD card and phone I think. Then add in a stock ROM

I'm still getting the reboot on the nand backup (OrangeFR), this sucks big time. Now I'm thinking it may be due to the fw I had to install to use AHRD (PG58IMG) and the new radio. This is where I'm lost. How can I return everything to standard ? If I understand well the ROM doesn't contain those files, they are separate ?
Was thinking that my random reboots were radio or firmware related.
Strange thing is mine have stopped, and all I did was reinstall revolution ICS 5.0.1 then upgrade to 5.0.2. Didn't even wipe first. So even my apps & settings all of which I had installed & configured since I had installed Insert Coin ICS, are all still there. Haven't had a reboot since.

I switched back to ARHD 3.6.9, did a factory reset+wipe, flashed radio 10.59 and all is fine, I'm somehow reluctant to try again...
I found a solution that worked for me... At last...
I am REALLY sorry that i didn´t answer here before, but i have been really bussy, and actually forgot all about it a few days....
NOW, i also thought that i had some CPU spped issue with the roms, becource i can actually get the same kind of reboot problems on my DHD when i run it over 1500 Mhz...
So i thought that i would lock my sensation to max 900 mhz, and then see what happens... NO change... Still random reboot... Strange...
I then installed a Android 2.3 rom, just to get my phone running again... STILL random reboots...
hmmm....
Now i was confused...
At last i tried to flash a different radio one more time...
I found a radio in some other sensation thread... Flashed it and now my phone works stable...
At least with Virtuos Inquisition 1.3.0... (Proberbly the 1.4.0 will also work, but i have not tried it yet...)
The Radio i had the problems with is the one from mike´s thread...
I actually don´t know why, as i have allways had great success with his roms and his releases on my DHD...
The Radio i use now is 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035-02_2...
But sorry, i can´t remember from what thread...
Ok, this is what i have discovered on this reboot issue...
I hope it make some sense, and that this perhaps can help other with the same problems...
Try turning your phone to recovery.Backup if you havent already....Wipe Data/Factory reset then turn the phone off....
Remove the back cover and the SDCARD.Turn the phone back on and see if it runs ok without the SDCARD, if it does reformat the sd using 4ext recovery and it will also align it.
I spoke too soon.
My phone didn't reboot for a day after I switched back to Revolution ICS 5.0.2 for about a day, then today it began doing random reboots every few minutes. I had not changed any software, just the area (which might have changed signal and frequency the cell tower uses). So I figured it was time to change firmware and radio.
I had previously (prior to installing custom ICS ROM) flashed the radio to 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2 as recommended by Mike1986 in the Revolution HD ICS thread, and had HBoot 1.7.1111 on my device.
I then downloaded the firmware he posted on his thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
This has put the phone back to HBOOT 1.20.0000 and radio 11.15.3504.16_M
Now it's working well and no reboots yet.
Here's hoping.. time will tell.
No matter what radio or Rom combo I get random ass reboots
Super annoying. I did notice the battery goes from 100% to 10% during this reboot
I have calibrated battey. Wiped stats. I'm lost.
I have even tried a new battery. Wtf. Any ideas?
i cant even flash stock ruu I get a 171 error!!!!
Im gonna throw this phone at the f-ing wall in a min
if you flashed newest radio 11...x.x..., you have to have newest hboot also (1.20.. , i guess). otherwise, you will get random reboot. I had this issue before, and i just flashed order radio( i don't want to update hboot version). problem is solved

[Q] GB to ICS & BACK to GB....Possible?

I am very much interested in ICS ROM, but one basic question:
If the Radio is not good for my region, esp. the voice clarity thing, and I wish to revert back to the GB ROM with the current RADIO which is on my sensation....would the Nandroid thing work on it???? Or anyway to download the radio which is currently there in my sensation...if yes, How do i find out the Radio for my sensation??
Someone please guide me...
I was flashing ICS ROM yestarday, but things didn't go right. Restored NAND and everything is working, and i still have back my old radio.
I have seen a few reports of going back to a GB ROM over in the InsertCoin thread, so it would seem like reverting back would be an option. It would also depend on whether or not you did the full process of upgrading to an ICS ROM including updating the firmware, because I believe 4.0.1 can be run on the original firmware but 4.0.3 you must update it. According to what I have seen regarding InsertCoin anyways.
Also, I want to say that you can find your radio information if you boot into hboot. (Take battery out, hold VOL down and power). Not 100% sure though, I usually just use it to hop into recovery.
Hope I helped
I flip flopped a couple times now, just make sure u reflash gb firmware if u upgraded for ics, and always use the radio reccomended with the rom. I've had no issues.
Here's my last 4 roms, in case anyone cares.

I am currently running android revolution 5.0.2 without updating my radio or firmware and it is running very well. If I want arhd 6.0.2 then I would need to install new firmware. So far I am keeping my option to return to gingerbread without any hassle.
Flashing a rom or backup doesnt change your radio. You have to go through your bootloader for that. I havent heard any bad news about going back to GB as long as older 10.xx radios are flashed as well. And people have actually gone back succesfully while keeping newer firmware and hboot. And by people i mean me lol. I have a insertcoin GB 3.4.5 backup on tap i use regularly cuz we all know ICS is still learning how to walk on our sensations

Did you flash the radio separately? I am having the problem now as I did a NAND restore to GB, but the radio is still 11.xx...I think the battery is draining more with it. So I want to revert the radio back...but how did you do that? Just flash the radio? I flashed the recent firmware from December in HBOOT and even though it says the custom radio was flashed, the radio still says 11.xx

[Q] What do I need to get OTA Updates?

Hi,
I just sent my One S to Vodafone because of the chipping issue (it wasn't very much but if they change it it would be nice) and I expect to get a new flashed phone back from them.
At the moment I have (or more had) the Virtuos 1.4.0 Rom installed because I kinda like the Sense look&feel more than the AOSP way but I wanted to have the 3-dot menu mod.
As the Mod is now available for odexed 1.78 ROMs and the Virtuos ROM isn't updated I'm thinking about keeping the stock ROM, clean it in parts with the ROM Cleaner and then apply the Mod (and maybe some other also) to still get OTA Updates.
My Question now is: What does the phone need to get the OTA Updates?
Somewhere I read that it would need the default recovery, is this true? and what else does it need? I want to have CWM to make nandroids etc. - would it be necessary to unlock the bootloader, flash CWM and reflash the default recovery if there are OTAs?
Also I'm thinking about changing the phone from a branded Vodafone one to the default HTC Eu version like this. Does this make it possible to receive OTA from HTC after flashing an RUU and what do I have to consider?
With an official ruu (eg. EU) you should always get updates. Although devs update moreoften.

Thank you for the answer!
But what can you modify and still get OTA Updates? I'm thinking as said about if the CWM as Recovery etc. affects the "OTA-Ability"
You need stock recovery, Stock ROM, All the stock bloatware. you may even need re locked bootloader.
its easier to run an RUU or wait for ROM devs to include the update into the ROM

Okay, so no chance to modify it a little bit without affecting the OTA ability
I have a nandroid of the default ROM so then I think I should be able to make an OTA by restoring the nandroid, flashing the signed stock recovery and then give it a try?! - As said the Phone is brandet so flashing a RUU would be a little bit more riskier
Mh... I'll just try it when the net OTA is there
My Problem now just is that the Virtuos ROM isn't up to date and every other ROM doesn't fit my needs
The MoDaCo is very "*****y" (doesn't want to boot sometimes) and misses the "Facebook for HTC Sense" and "Twitter for HTC Sense" apps...
Oh and if somebody is interested:
I got my phone changed without any discussion from Vodafone. They just sent me a new one and the delivery boy took my old back to Vodafone.
you could certainly try the Nandroid way ! lots have people have successfully done it this way

OTA Update to Android 4.0.4 ,Ver 2.31.401.5 & Sense 4.1 for S4 is Out!

Update: the first users got this OTA update on their stock, non rooted, untouched HTC One S (S4). Everyone could choose to wait to get the update in the normal way.
Required
- CID HTC 304 (some kind of universal carrier ID/ region, named the 'developers region'). Everyone can install CID HTC 304, if you're on European users. Ofcourse you can always restore your original cidnumber if you want.
- The stock 1.78 WWE ROM (d-h.st mirror or hotfile.com mirror). Also everyone need this ROM and everyone can install this rom if you have got CID HTC 304.
- Back-up of your files on computer. This update will format all partitions, even the sd card!

Don't know if I did this right, but because I am rooted on stock 2.21 ROM , I flashed stock recovery.img from 2.21 RUU over CWM recovery.img, and checked for OTA in settings and got that there are no updates available. Is this the correct procedure to do OTA update ? Don't know if I messed up something
Seems we can't get OTA from 2.21 ROM, we'll need to wait an RUU to upgrade...

I found this link and it states that it is for new OTA, but don't know for sure.
HTC released 2.31 OTA for One S, New OTA has Sense 4.1, Android 4.0.4 and new Radio.
http://fotadl.htc.com/OTA_Ville_U_I...1.78.401.2_release_275773ape8z1mahr0gt8fg.zip
I got the update earlier today (I had stock 1.78 before of course) but I think there might be a problem with it. It may be a coincidence, but I did not receive all SMS sent by a friend today. I'm not sure how many of them I didn't get, but I did not get one long SMS for sure (long like 3 SMS's) and maybe one or two others, including one sent by someone else.
Another minor problem I spotted: if I want to send a long SMS, the bar with word suggestions places itself right in the middle of the typing zone (in landscape mode at least).
My network operator says there is no known issues with SMS services today, that's why I thought about an issue with the update... Anyone else having this issue after the update?
Why do people keep posting this stuff in Q&A? The new radio is working great for me.

New baseband, new kernel. Didn't have the time to figure out the rest by now.
and still no solution for the home button issue. The reception seems to be beter in 2g and 3g modes. Still I'm able te reproduce the home button issue in 'gsm' and 'gsm/WCDMA' modus, only 'WCDMA' mode prevents the home screen from flipping.
HTC One S Android 4.0.4. Sense 4.1 update 2.3.1. stock, no-root, no-unlock.
I hope this fits in here:
I just got the notification for the 4.0.4 update on my One S (in Germany) and tried to install it. My phone is rooted and I have ClockworkMod v5.8.3.1 installed. After rebooting the installation is cancelled with the following error:
E: unknown volume for path [INTERNALSDCARD: Download/OAT_ville_...zip]
E: Can't mount INTERNALSDCARD: Download /OAT_ville_...zip
Installation aborted.
Du I have to install the update manually using CWM? Will this wipe my user data?
Thank you for your help!
You have to use stock recovery to apply an OTA update.
It should not wipe anything, but be wise and make a backup before...
Im on 2.21 locked, non rooted stock. How can I apply this update?
to return of stock download this https://dl.dropbox.com/u/89172728/R....27_2_10.08.50.04L__release_271119_signed.exe

This OTA only for the RUU 1.78.. and 2.21 need to wait..
Can confirm 2.31 update (from 1.78) on my Stock non-rooted Euro (HTC__E11 CID) One S [Netherlands]. Current phone info:
For those wanting to know what's in the OTA from what I've tinkered around with:
Current device info:
Android: 4.0.4
Sense: 4.1
Software Version: 2.31.401.5
Baseband:1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L
Build: 2.31.401.5 CL90817 release-keys
Kernel: 3.0.8-01575-gbcda118 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
What I've noticed:
*Smoother transitions on home screens
* "Tabs" button in browser
*Back/Forward buttons rearranged in browser menu
*Recent Apps button can be configured for recent apps and "menu" in any order (touch/touch and hold)
*Less H/3G switching, higher data speeds in same network area
*Slight improvement in battery performance
*Transition for Recent Apps improved
*"Rescue" and "EA Games" app available
Other observations:
*Quadrant score improved from 4600 to 5480
*HTC System apps open much faster
*Screen rotation faster'
A weird glitch though, anybody noticed this: When the battery gets low and the LED starts flashing, if you touch and release the status bar, it triggers a LED flash. Like, by repeatedly tapping the status bar the orange LED flashes very rapidly upon touch. Anyone noticed that?

I don't think its a software problem. When I run ROMs based on the old 1.78 or new trick droid ROMs I don't have the problem.
I think its a actual hardware problem with the antenna at certain frequencies making the screen think your touching it.
The 2g/3g antenna is right behind the home button almost.

Cannot make phone call after flashing s4 RUU (Europe version)

"com.android.dialer has stopped unexpectedly" shows every time i try to call.
this happened after i ran 4.1.1 RUU (europe version). however, i switch back to Tmobile version, still counter the same problem.
my phone:
- Tmobile version S4 HTC One S
- S-OFF w/ superCID (11111111)
- now running CM10.1 (phone call features works on this but not on any RUU)
i really want to switch back to official RUU since i get used to sense interface instead of android native.
please suggest! thanks a million!!!
Did you restore any apps, like with TB or ROM toolbox?

You might want to try running the RUU again, since it might be a one-off thing.

What about downloading one of the RUUs again. Do any custom ROMs work?

i tried viper also...still doesn't work.
i will try to re-download the ruu...wish me luck!
Did you run this one?
ya, seems to be a version for the S One SE if you read through the thread...
So return to latest JB RUU and check for the JB OTA then. You should also perform a full wipe from custom recovery before.
