Is it me or does astro manager lag a lot when scrolling through directories that have lots of apps? It seems like loading the icon beside the file name slows it down a lot, once the icon image shows up it scrolls perfectly fine. Is there a way to disable showing that icon by any chance?

Just a quick one.. the mycloud app looks useful, and I'd like to have it handy on my desktop via an icon in one of my circle launcher Widgets.. unfortunately, it appears to be the one app that doesn't appear as a selectable app in circle launcher's settings.. given that it is a selectable app in the main honeycomb apps page, its a bit wired i can't add it.. any thoughts?
crisis over.. its now appeared
Guys, this is probably a retarded question, but I've DL Circle Launcher and it isn't appearing in the widget's list. I literally can't find it.
What am I missing?
Just needed a restart.
in honeycomb i used folder organizer to add custom icons to apps and then i used the FO Item shortcut to add them to the desktop. now it had a custom icon and worked just like a regular shortcut.
now, in ICS, it's making them into widgets instead of shortcuts. or at least thats what i'm assuming. on a reboot the new icons all said loading instead of just showed up like my older ones.
additionally when you press on them, they don't get the slight glow around them like normal shortcuts, but instead get a box around them like a widget.
it was NOT like this in honeycomb so now i'm forced to find a new app to use. desktop visualizer works, but it shrinks all the icons down.
anyone have any apps that are working properly for custom icons?
So I've got a weird problem that I've never encountered before...
The home screen transition animations on Apex Launcher get very laggy and choppy after I scroll through 4+ pages in the app drawer. Everything else on the phone runs fine and smooth, it's just when I swipe between home screens that it's laggy. I know it's not a memory issue because I killed everything with task manager, and the issue presented itself with 300+ mb of memory free.
So here's the sequence of events:
-Start launcher fresh.
-Do literally anything on the phone, and it stays liquid smooth. Run apps, multitask, whatever.
- open app drawer and swipe through 3 pages and go back to home. Still super smooth.
-open app drawer and scroll through one more page. Go back home.
-laaaaaggg
Any ideas? I've uninstalled and reinstalled apex launcher to no avail. I really don't want to have to do a factory reset...

Same here. Change transition effects of honescreen settings from card stack to none and all is good lag is gone.
Just found a temporary work-around: select app drawer style as vertical continuous. No homescreen lag.
I'm still curious as to how many other people experience this, and why it's happening.

there is "files by google" which is on the play store. then there is also a "files" app with a white folder on blue background icon. similar to icons of the stock phone and settings app. is there a way have its icon on launchers?
There has to be a better way, but I found at least a janky work around.
Download "simple shortcuts - create Shortcuts" from play store
Open it and go to all activities tab
Search for files app
Click on it and select files activities action
Click the yellow button in the bottom right.
For me this works.
ahh, thanks for the tip. it turns out that app is also not ideal for me. still had to download a 3rd party explorer.
Chrome..is there a way to shortcut my entire bookmaks list through 1 home screen icon? Im sick of going through the dots bookmark thing everytime i want to see a new site.
I used to use Cmarks before Google blocked the Api
With Nova launcher, yes.
(Using it for DuckDuckGo; no reason it cannot be done for Chrome)
Is it like a widget in the launcher?

Click to collapse
Nope.
Just like a normal single icon on home screen (for the folder inside which are the shortcuts).
You can modify the icon for the main folder icon & the inside shortcut icons as you please.
Several shortcuts can be saved this way with either horizontal card panning or vertical scroll of shortcuts; background colour & transparency adjustable.
So that's close to what I've done as a temp. A folder with shortcuts in it. Cmarks was glorious cuz it had everything in a nice tight list and syncd with Google bookmarks automatically. It was like you bookmarks bar in 1 icon. I so miss this functionality.
