[Huawei S7 Tablet] Have root, need more system memory... - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

OK, so I have a Huawei S7 Tablet running Android 2.1 under a Huawei UI.
UniversalAndroot gave me instant root.
But of course I don't have a custom Recovery or a custom ROM.
After a small number of apps have been installed, the dreaded "Low on space" message appears. What can I do to get more "install space" (System?) ?
Can I do /anything/ besides uninstalling apps while waiting for 2.2?
I have a G1 with CM 6.1 RC1, with Firerat's A2SD and all that, and I almost have no memory issues (speed issues - yes) with it, but without a custom ROM for my S7 am I helpless..?

unfortunately I believe you will have to wait until the froyo release Q1 2011 and app2SD

Is a froyo release for S7 actually planned?
I asked support and they told me "we currently have no plans to release Android 2.2 for the S7" in September.

Has anyone found a way to free up more space to install apps? Or send them to the internal sd card?

[Q] [Solved] MyApps (com.android.vending) crashing

Got into my usual workflow in Titanium Backup, and guess I did something I shouldn't have on my Xoom... let it integrate all updated system apps to the ROM.
The 4 listed were Maps, Cordy, DunDef, and MyApps
I don't seem to have any issues with the first 3, but when in the Market, and hitting "My apps" I get force close of My Apps (process com.android.vending)
I have tried clearing cache & data on Market, Market Feedback Agent, Market Updater & My Apps... no help.
Is there any way to get/reinstall the original MyApps with out full a re-flash?
SOLVED: For a non destructive (ie no wipe) fix to my issue...
- First I flashed a root preped HRI66 system.img from roebeet http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995785 following his instructions.
- Second I re-flashed Tiamat kernal and modules http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978013
- Third I re-cleared cache for Market and MyApps
- DONE. Working fine again.
do you have at least 2gb of space available

Yeah. 17.9 gb free
I can install new apps from the market, but get weird notifications during download and after install. I would need to go DL something to find the exact messages.. but something like..
"1#% download"
"app already purchased or is still being processed"
"application failed"
Though the apps (a couple free ones) installed and ran fine.
rooted? 3g or wifi?
3g
v3.0.1 - Tiamat v1.3 Kernal - Rooted
do you have your sdcard?
I would just reflash. that would be the only way. if you have working sdcard i would back up all the apps to it
No way to just push that one piece eh? damn.
I figured out a non-destructive way to solve this. I am adding that info to OP in case it will help someone.
all you should have needed to do was simply uninstall the update to My Apps.that's what I did and it fixed the problem

I was unable to do that, the button was grayed out. That was the first thing I looked to do when it happened.

Getting a lot of "Application not installed"

When i try to install an .apk (especially 15mb and above of full games) from the sd card i get a lot of "Application not installed" when earlier it used to install. I have Dinc with Redemption Rom 2.4, froyo 2.2. I don't get any low space notifications and there is enough space all around. I don't want to flash my rom again. Is there a solution so i get to keep what i have and continue to install more apps. thanks.
Here's one solution that worked for me:
I installed Android Market 3.0.27 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166152
I cleared the market cash and Google services framework data as per the steps described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893538
Then the trick that did it was to disable app2SD under settings/applications.
I still am missing some apps in the market (Skype, Facebook, Google Maps, etc.) but at least I can install them from apk files now.
I hope this helps.
Cheers

Installing now. Thanks, Is this pre rooted? sorry i'm new to nexus 7. just got it for 3 days
There's a new Google Apps specifically for 4.2.2 now, if you didn't know OP
Also consider comparing other kernels like LeanKernel and M-Kernel, both were good enough to make me switch from franco.
Thanks, Updated to new Google Apps.
And overall performance of franco kernel is really good, anyway let me check those kernels.

yes, Its pre-rooted (adb), but you need to install SuperSu/SuperUser to get full access.
I have SuperSu installed in my device, but my device is still not rooted. Could you please tell me how to root my device? Would love to use your rom as my daily driver.
For SuperSU app to work, you need modified 'su' binary. So, Flash any SuperSU/Superuser's su binary and then try again.

Hi,
After i installed the ROM last night, im having problems installing purchased apps from the Play store. I'm getting an error message saying `Couldnt install to USB storage or SD card`
I've tried searching for the solution but most mention about unmounting the storage which, for the nexus 7, isn't an option
Oh, I'm completely new to all of this by the way!
Many thanks

Sounds like a permissions issue. I would format the drive. Or ask in the q&a section on how to fix permissions.

[Q] Lucky Patcher - trobleshoot

I got "insufficient storage available" on my android phone. I wanted to fix it with Lucky Patcher. But when I opened Lucky Patcher than I clicked on "Trobleshoot" I saw only "Install SuperSU(ICS)" and "Update Busybox". There was't option "Remove fixes and backups". Why????
My phone is Lenovo A328, android 4.4.2 KITKAT official ROM. And same problem is on Samsung Galaxy S II plus, android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean official ROM. I got root and SuperSU and BusyBox on both phones.

Although L********** has some legitimate uses, it has illegitimate uses as well, and thus discussion about this app and similar ones are under a blanket ban at xda.

Has anyone successfully rooted Huawei Y7 TRT LX2 ? Installed custom rom?

I don't see much in the Y7 forum so I'm hoping I can get help here since I can't post there yet.
I'm interested in doing so so that I can
- move apps to SD card ( internal storage is only 16GB and I keep getting insufficient storage errors in the playstore to install a 20mb app when I have > 300mb available.
- run apps in the background. Huawei doesn't seem to like to allow their phones to run apps in the background
- update to Android 8.0 or 8.1 if possible
If I can do these things without rooting or installing a custom ROM please let me know. Thanks.
Yes rooting is possible but no custom rom exists for these phones
