Hey guys,
As far as I have figured out, my touchscreen's digitizer is broken, I tried re-writing the ROM (had to skip calibration with software) and so on..nothing helps.
The problem is that I don't have money atm, and everything would be fine using the QWERTY but I can't even send SMS, the send button is on the touchscreen.
Could I do anything (reg changes or something) to make a QWERTY combination to send out sms?
You could use the key mapper & map a key to a mortscript emulating the screen tap for sms send button.
You can also hook your Raphael to PC.notebook via MyMobiler allowing your PC to control PPC via PC screen & mouse.
All software is linked in my signature.
perfect, this will work for me. I just ripped my digitizer off because it was pealing.
Would you be able to help me out with the mortiscript? Having a tuff time emulating the left soft key tap.

My send and end buttons have some how gotten screwed up. When I hit the send button, it opens contacts, calendar and the phone app. When I hit end it opens the contacts app and this obviously is creating problems. can not remap the button correctly through the button mapping control panel item either. It seems my D-pad has gone to hell as well.
I have hard reset the device and this is still a problem. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Any help that you could provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
db
Help! I'm having the same problem, a hard reset doesn't fix it.
I'm sorry, unfortunately I never figured out how to deal with this and my D-pad died so I got a new PPC. Best of luck to you though.
Not a solution, but as an interim, you can use my prog VJKeyPress to emulate the send and end keys.
Sounds like a hardware problem. The old ipaqs used to use resistor arrays to detect which keys were being pressed. Sounds like a screw up in similar hardware perhaps? Warranty time me'thinks.

Hi everyone,
I have an iPAQ 6340 with broken digitizer (screen works OK, but touchscreen is dead). I can make calls and send SMS with keyboard, so telephone is actually usable, but there is a problem... When I did hard reset, Windows wants me to do screen alignment procedure, but I can't do it... Is there any way I could bypass this?
Thanks

I've written two articles on this subject, listing all the alternatives; please read this
Yes!!!
Big thanks to all of you, guys!!!
if your touchscreen is dead, there's always other ways to touch your screen, like trueconnect and Fake cursor.
trueconnect uses your PC and your mouse to navigate in your PPC. something like a splitscreen from your PC. pretty cool...
fake cursor can be use navigating with your dpad or nav buttons when your PC not around.

2 options, use the directional buttons around the enter key, or install virtual mouse.
The directional buttons don't allow you to navigate to the 'Send' button unfortunately. At least, not that I have been able to do. I can navigate most other places with them though.
I will look into using virutal mouse tonight. Thanks.
I have the UK version - so i may be wrong here. Isnt there a txt key on the slide out keyboard?
Failing that, bind a key using something like AEB (remap button pushes) or gscroll (use the capacative touch on the buttons) - you can google them both!
And if you have trouble mapping to "create new txt" send me a pm and i'll walk you through it!
The send key and the end key work correctly every time after a fresh restart. But they both will "disappear" after a while of using. The "home" function will replace the "send" and the "backward" will replace the "end",
Does any body here have the same issues? Am I having a bad HardSPL, I had tried several 6.1 and 6.5 rom, no good news for me.
Update: installed the cleanRam program, the function of those keys work again, every time after Ram Cleaning. But, I have to say, keys malfunction after a while again.
question
1. how does the keypad work? send key and the home key they are too close? is there any sensor area around the surface?
2. If I keep pushing the buttons when send key and end key malfunction, the phone will dead. Indicating something wrong with the phone?
Thanks
Hello guys!
Since yesterday my touchscreen doesn't respond any more, obviously because of some kind of "bubble" just below the uppermost screen layer. It looks as if the upper foil had separated from the one below in a small area on the right side of the screen (as if it had soaked in air or liquid).
Now the only way for me to handle the phone is to make inputs via hardware keys.
Before I return it to my cellphone dealer for warranty repair, I want to make a complete backup using tools like SPB Backup or similar ones.
But unfortunately, all those backup tools require the installation of some program parts on the PDA, whose touchscreen isn't usable any more.
Do you have an idea how to get to those two buttons on the lower edge / bottom of the screen saying for example "Install" or "Cancel" just by merely using the flippable keyboard or the hardware keys on the PDA's front side?
Thanks a lot in advance!
Greetings

There's a program(Whose name I forgot, sorry D=) that allows you to control your pocketpc from your pc, via a usb connection.
It's a pc application.
Someone get the name of this for me? I'm not at home right now, so I can't get to my computer Dx
