[THEME] PreXperia

Theme is up. Download link and screen shots below. Also, theme was built on Aloysius 2.0.3
This theme is a minor port of the Android UI built for the Sony Ericsson Xperia x10:: I ported the task bar, related icons, and Dialer from the system dump for the XperiaX10.
What's included:
New taskbar -- ported
New task bar icons -- ported
New Pull down notification -- created by CaNaRi0N, modified by me
New Dialer skin -- ported and modified.
New Roise buttons - created by me
New Font
New Boot screen
**To get my boot screen to work on this ROM, please do the following first before flashing this theme.**
1. Connect phone to computer
2. Open command prompt
3. Enter these commands:

Lastly, there were requests in another thread to either port or skin the Nexus/Droid Dialer to our phones. I did some searching here on XDA and a member from this site has already created an alternative, which IMO functions extremely well. If you want to try it -- go to the Market and search: Dialer One

Excellent! The one icon that irritates me the most is that damn original HTC 6 signal icon. Does anybody else notice that its lopsided when its at one or two bars?? That bugs me the most. LOL

Hahahahaha, I see it now. I had to seriously put my face to my monitor to actually see it though, lol.

all I did was add some grey pixels to the bottom of each bar...
Edit, download these and change to whatever color you want.

Awesome! Will keep an eye on this. I havent used a theme on my phone since Dartkstar on Gumbo Bare and this looks like it might replace stock look.

Another thing, did Sony Ericsson shoehorned live wallpapers onto 1.6? If you look at the background on almost every picture, it seems like it was moving.

I'm positive there not live wallpapers, I haven't seen any actually. I've included the wallpapers below though.

First, and probably foremost, I need to make some acknowledgments:

The images contained in this file are based off of the work originally done by Yukfoo Animation Studios and their talented team of artists. They had no knowledge of my creation of this file, nor took any part in it's developement or modifications to their images. So here's my bootanimation I created. I've never really done one before, nor do I have much 'photoshop' experience either, so go easy on me! I truly have mucho respect for those that excel and are efficient with these programs.
I had some strange issues creating a transparent background for the red and blue version, so they have a full screen black background. Also, by not having transparency, I can save in jpeg format which is *MUCH* smaller, and noticeably snappier. (UOT who has this converted it to png)

Here it is in the OG green , but it has a white backgound and doesn't fill the screen...It's black on top and bottom, similar to a letterbox look.

With my feeble photoshopping skills, I'm afraid not any time soon. It took quite a long time to get this one to look half way decent, and now I'm behind on other work (gotta get caught up on my statics homework, lol )

Well, I wish I were able to. When contacting the creator, I learned that the character was built, rigged, textured, lit and comped by a team of people. I doubt I could create anything nearly as good from scratch. Those that can have my sincere admiration.

Hmm, it runs almost perfect on mine. For a 'normal' boot cycle (after the rom has been loaded, and dalvik all set up), it runs for one complete cycle slower, then on the subsequent cycles it speeds up. It's 112 frames long, which is certainly within a normal range for a boot animation. Just turned my phone off/on and it ran through a good 4 cycles.
Now if I stop the core to push a file into the system partition, it gets chopped when I start core again, but that's different.

I can run a simple batch file to recolor it if you'd like. It takes literally less than a minute for me to recolor this. I can make a new one if you'd like. For example, I made a blue one with a diffused glow for effect:

I like the green, too! Here's the first version I did that's in the original colors, and with a white background. **The white background does not cover the entire screen, there are black bars above and below**

I've changed the folder placement to /data/local/, as after reviewing AOSP, it looks like it checks there first anyway, so unless your bootanimation command has been altered. I'll update the Red version here shortly as well.

You're right it is easy to do a simple hue change. However, where I ran into difficulties was in the black background. For some reason, I had trouble introducing strange artifacts that only showed on the phone, not in the individual images. Here's a highly compressed/downsized example put into a gif:

Had similar problems with the red version. I think it has something to do with how I changed the background, as I never really had too many problems with the original version. But since you got me started on it, I'll try to get it finished

Thanks. The green is my personal fav, too..I think it shows his texture, and 3D like qualities better.
Ideally I'd rather have a transparent background, which I would think would show as black. But having him on a transparency like that would make it easier to do other things later. I just haven't learned my way around the image editing stuff very well...but I'm learning.
I've got a couple other sections of video I *think* I might be able to isolate with some work. Some of this stuff if pretty tedious though (for me anyway). That android guy I put in for an avatar earlier... I had to reconstruct the right 1/3 of his head as it was covered by something else on the screen. And as long as I spent on it, I'm still not near as good as what the original creators did.

i just pushed the green version with white bg, it woulda been fine but then now the top 1/3 and bottom 1/3 of screen is black and the mid part is white

Oops, my bad...I guess I didn't really explain that. Yes, that's the correct display. The area of video that the base work was lifted from was a 16:9 aspect ratio, and our phones are like a 9:15 aspect ratio the other way. As that was my initial piece, I was more concerned with getting the animation smooth sized right. But after seeing it on the phone, I actually kinda like it the way it is.
I'll update the op so that folks are aware ahead of time. Work is planned for the green guy for sure...

and when everything smooth out you should add strobe lights for the robot to dance to or music notes... something in the background.. idk.. lol

I tried with AmonRa (1.8.0.1) with error "no installation script" or something like this.
Then I copied the bootanimation.zip file directly into /data/local
both 2 methods didnt work for me...

Well, I'm not sure what to tell you. What rom are you running? I know one of the desire ports is putting it in /system/customize/ or something similar..can't remember.
Try pushing the file to your /system/media/ folder and see if that works...

I have redone most of the animated .png's "from scratch" in Photoshop, including the 120+ battery icons, the spinners, "Connecting" call icon, downloads, etc. as well as a LOT of the static icons and .9.png's. So these icons will be unique to this theme unless someone likes them and ports them to another (feel free themers, but please give credit!). Bootscreen is from the interweb (sorry, I forget) & is not the ideal resolution but really "matches"...

I figured I'd get compared to that theme. the resemblance is unintentional but I take it as a great compliment!
The 'glow' on mine isn't a part of the status bar, it's a shadow I tweaked. You can tell in the 1st pic where the notifications are down it moves

First off, HOLY CRAP!!! Sir, nice theme.
And I don't think just because this is a green theme that makes it similar to the greenglow theme. This one has a more metallic look, and it's very polished and professional (not knocking greenglow here, it looks great as well).
And I think he thought you simply forgot to add a screen cap of your lockscreen, but it seems you are redoing it.
As for 2.2, I am using Free X10 and I've opened it up, the framework-res.apk looks very similar to 2.1, but the names of all the images are different, Sony renamed everything for their ROM, so you can copy/paste many of the images, but you will have to rename them all... considering how many there are... it will most likely take some time. As for the phone and messenger and some other apks, those will a little reworking, because they are slightly different from the Sony versions (mostly the messenger).
I would love to see a 2.2 port, because I am really impressed with this.
However, may I suggest perhaps changing the notification pull-down background, the chain link looks nice, but it seems a little busy and doesn't seem to fit the rest of the theme all too well, maybe a transparent dark green brushed metal look, something similar to the default background. But it's really just personal opinion here. I don't know if this is possible, because the background is usually tiled, maybe just a solid, transparent, dark green.
As for names, I suck at naming things, lol... But I get an industrial feel from this... maybe "Industrial Green", or "Industrial Hunter".
Keep it up, this looks beautiful.

Even if I do not use the theme, you (who made it) deserve congrats. It is well made, beautiful and posh. As I have and love my luster white x10, some colors seem not to match it. Its is personal, I know. I would love having a brown/golden theme, or even a Violet one.

[WALLPAPERS][UPDATED] Time to kill and happy to make wallpapers

Hey folks.
There are literally zillions of wallpapers out there, but my issues with all of them is that, well, they aren't exactly unique.
I'm offering to create you folks whatever wallpapers you would like.
I wouldn't class myself as a graphic artist, but I know my stuff - I have worked with Photoshop in a professional setting for about 3 years now, and have some time to kill over the next few weeks. I do mostly 2d, but have (VERY) limited 3D experience as well.
If you want a custom wallpaper, either post in this thread or send me a PM - I will post everything I create here for everyone to see.
If you can be as specific as possible on what you are looking for, it helps a huge amount - don't say something like 'I want one with my forum name on it', go for 'I want my forum name in xxx font or like xxx font but with a cool shadow on it, but my name has to be in the top left, and pretty small'
Things like that at least give me somewhere to start from.
I'm not asking for any cash or donations - it is as much an exercise in design for me as it is an open offer to you.
In the same way, please don't be sour if I can't deliver exactly what you are looking for; I'll always do my utmost to get you what you want, but I can't do everything.
Anyway, if this goes nowhere, no worries. If there is a great demand, I will work on a first-come first-served policy.

ok i apologize for this...but... do you think you could just post me some of your other work and some other wallpapers i cant seem to get ahold of any randomabstract/video gaming wallpapers everytime i do they are the right size but pixelated and just nothing seems to be working... im not asking for anthing in particular bt if you just want to post the pictures or zip files either way is fine =] im just having trouble with this and im tired of wasteing alll my time looking for some wallpapers lol please and thanks =] but if the video game wallpapers need to be something special then i pick zelda =] anything from twilight princess and older =]

ok i apologize for this...but... do you think you could just post me some of your other work and some other wallpapers i cant seem to get ahold of any randomabstract/video gaming wallpapers everytime i do they are the right size but pixelated and just nothing seems to be working... im not asking for anthing in particular bt if you just want to post the pictures or zip files either way is fine =] im just having trouble with this and im tired of wasteing alll my time looking for some wallpapers lol please and thanks =] but if the video game wallpapers need to be something special then i pick zelda =] anything from twilight princess and older =]

i've really been wanting some transformer movie wallpapers, I utilize multipicture live wallpaper so if youve got a cluster that'd be cool. and with all the little components from the transformers its rather difficult to see my home screen icons so a black border on top and bottom would be cool... just a thought.

multipicture wallpaper is super amazing =] and on the other wallpaper forum they have some it should be like a post or two above this one...called wallpaper(s) and LINKS TO ONLY thread they have them there =]

I'm not sure what you want me to tell you regarding my request for a wallpaper - but I would REALLY like a unique Batman wallpaper. One that looks good portrait mode as well as landscape. Darkly themed - If you get creative with it I'm sure I'll love it. Maybe showing a collage of his enemies?

I sure would love to have a nice single screen wallpaper of the original Star Trek Enterprise 1701..
I cant find anything like that that will work with my TF

would u be able to do something with this? ive cropped the writting off the top and just set the Asus part using picsay. It would be nice with some kind of extra imaging relating to Prime rom - im using scars theme along with it so its all black and electric blue.

Zelda wallpaper is done - did a few variations. TRhrew it together a bit quickly, but it's a WIP.

I've done TF one, but I'm not happy with it just yet. It needs to be brought together more as an image. It's a bit... 'meh' as it stands. Give me time and I'll get these looking ace.

I've done 4 variations of the idea I had... all based around LCARS interface.

Hmmm... it's up but having a play on the TF one, I'm not convinced I got the ratios right - I'll have a play about wiht it tomorrow, but it is nearly 1am here, and I gotta get sleep some time!

I want to contribute back to this community somehow. No real incentive for me to learn how to dev, so instead I'll contribute by posting 200+ perfect fitting wallpapers for the Amaze. I thought since we share the resolution, I'd hop in and post this here as well.
I got really upset when I need to crop an image, and it gets distorted/blurry when it's set.
There's 2 folders, the 540x960 folder, which will fit your phone PERFECTLY, and the "Others" folder, which has some nice wallpapers but don't fit as perfect.

Most of them are compressed pretty badly and when you set as a wallpaper image is looking really ugly, low res even though it matches the resolution. Some of them are squeezed and look unnatural. Plain backgrounds/abstract images such as carbon , blue and green lines are quite good tho.
Thanks for the putting them all together even though I did not enjoy most of them there are some hidden gems

TBH they all work really well on my Amaze, none of them look compressed at all (I'm pretty OCD, I went through all of them on my phone.) Thanks for the honesty though
If anyone else has the same issue, please don't hesitate to post. I'll look into it, remove those wallpapers and add some more for the next reiteration

Make sure you're using HTC's gallery to set the wallpaper as opposed to other file explorers (fixed the problem for someone else)

Didnt the ics update sorta mess around with setting the wallpaper ? Instead of giving you a vertical crop area, it gives you a squarish crop area.
At least thats the answer I got when I asked in the Q&A. I had to use Wallpaper Wizardrii just to get a vertical crop of my wallpaper.

What about amirror like mediafire? Depositfiles says that I have reached my limit...
