Hi, i know there are posts that deal with rooting, flashing etc but I must admit its a bit technical, so i thought I'd tell you my problem an dthen hopefully some one can explain plainly how to fix it. Everytime I start my phone I get this adnimation startup advert from my operator, I WANT IT OFF!! I did root the phone hoping I can then access the files one normally cannot but the files listed are the same after the rooting, and I still have no access to the preinstalled stuff. So, how can I get this advert off? I thought I need to flash itthen but got very confused trying to understand the process, what should I do? thanks

If I am correct you will need to flash a stock ROM to your phone.

Youre asking how to install a theme?? Find once compatible for your rom. Stick it on your sd card. Boot into recovery, and flash it.
Post what problems you are having. Good luck.

im not even sure which rom to use, i have tried a couple but the adk is where i am stuck at, when i go to command prompt it isnt at the c://adk/etc.. like what all the write ups are at, its at c://user/applications or something of that nature and i type what should be typed in on the /adk part of it and says it can not be found. i tried reinstalling the adk again and same problem, im doing something wrong somewhere i assume or stuck in a spot that i keep doing wrong and not noticing. i just rooted it, so whatever rom i have i am assuming is the stock one since i havent gotten past this yet.
Your in over your head man, seriously, YOU put the sdk where you want it, me, I just put it in C:\sdk to make my life easy when changing directories.
If command line work is not something your familiar with, have patience, enjoy your rom as it is right now and wait until the super easy one click gui programs are created.
Did you buy the phone already rooted, or did you root it yourself?

You say you rooted it yourself, which is great, but the questions you're asking are so far out that it makes it urprising that you did.
UNLESS... you rooted using simpleroot or some ****? If sooooooo, that makes ur questions make a lot more sense.
Anyways you just boot into recovery, and flash the zip from that menu.
It has nothing to do with adb, cmd, or any of that other bull**** you're talking about. Just do what's bolded and stop going 3 miles outside of the box.

I agree, OP, you are way over complicating it dude. What is your build number? Settings> about phone> software information.
If I didn't know better I would almost bet you're trying to troll us. Being a brand new account and all.

I don't believe you anymore. Even Root tutorials direct you to install a rom after rooting, which would put you at 1.47.65 or whatever even without 2.2 upgrading.
Trying to flash a zip that isn't valid doesn't do anything at all to your phone... it just... doesn't work and sends you on your way. Absolutely nothing you type comes off as a "real" problem.
Anyways, I'm just going to say straight out, that I think you're trolling and that it's sad that you made an account just to waste your time.
I'm done with this thread.

think what you would like, im not a kid. ive answered your questions. computers or phones is nothing new to me. family works for sprint, but will not mess with the rooting part of it. so i was left alone on this. ive searched and searched and what u have read is where i am at. basically i am wanting a custom theme. i have tethering and all that crap that works fine. but a theme wont work and a rom to be 1.47 or whatever was never put on, i have what i posted and have everything a rooted phone should have. obviously im stuck on that rom part of it. no reason to be a **** or call someone a troll or say their trolling, when their asking questions. if ur intentions wernt to help, than dont reply. u wasted ur own time.
I bootloader on my moto g XT1031 BOOST MOBILE
i accidently deleted something wrong obviously when trying to delete bloatware
i have been trying to access a link for the STOCK settings... Unfortunately my backups were erased/never saved/non existent.
I am completely frustrated and would really appreciate someones help.
I am currently able to use the mobile device but with no wifi, no data connection, no apps on the phone. I am unable to do anything data/wireless on my handset.
Here is My situation as is....
I have windows computer, i have power cord for phone ( USB?) i can not access the ever popular link that says is currently unavailable, and thats it. PLEASE take me through every step assuming that i know absolutely nothing because i DO NOT. I cant afford a new phone. I need all WORKING links and to be taken through every single little step. I am on day two of trying to do this myself and have given up. Please help me before i lose my mind.
p.s I do have internet acces via my Windows computer.
Assuming you have a custom recovery already installed, simply download a custom ROM via PC, drag and drop it on to the SDcard of your phone where you can easily find it via recovery.. Boot to custom recovery, do a wipe and flash the ROM./Gapps. There are several basically stock ROMs with slight tweaks in the Dev section. There also may be stock flashables. This will at least get your phone back operational until you can do the research in to recovering stock firmware.
There are many helpful people here, but for the most part you are encouraged to do your research and know how to recover from situations such as this without asking questions. All the info can be found on these forums with a few mins of research. I don't mean to come off as rude... But if you're dabbling into the world of BL unlock, rooting, flashing, modding, things happen and you will need to know your way around your device.

Like i said i have been trying to accomplish this for two days now. I really feel like there is nothing i can do. I just simply dont understand what im doing given my current level of knowledge pertaining to the aforementioned query. I do not think you are coming off as rude and i appreciate you taking the time to share you imput with me. Its just that when you say "flashables" and "Boot to custom recovery" i become confused as to what that means. sigh
as i have previously mention my level of patience has grown thin which in turn has raised my level of frustration. If you wouldnt mind taking the time to point me in the right direction it would very much be appreciated.
thank you very much

1.) Follow this guide to unlock bootloader/flash a custom recovery via PC: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684234
2.) Here is a link to obtain a STOCK flashable zip for the Boost Mobile XT1031, along with a "optimized" version which has already been debloated. Whichever you choose. Download the ROM and move it to your phones SD. Boot into the custom recovery (above guide tells how). Once in recovery, do a wipe or factory reset. Install/flash the .zip you put on your SD:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688
Hopefully this helps and you can also learn along the way. All of the information you need is on this forum. It can all be confusing and frustrating at first, but once you get the hang of it there's really not much to it.
There may be a better way of going about this, but these steps will get you back to stock in the easiest way I can think of with little to no knowledge of customizations. Once you get more familiar with everything and do your research on whatever result you're trying to obtain, it will get easier and easier to understand and do.
Hi guys, I'm pretty new to rooting so tell me if i need to give more info etc cause I know i can be a bit vague.
So I rooted my phone no problem via the all in one kit thing and installed cyanogen, but this was right before the big android update so I wanted to switch back and update to that, but somewhere along the line i got rid of all the Roms (I think)
The stage it's at now: I can boot normally but the startup wizard fails, I assume this is because the stock operating system isnt hooked up to run, regardless I can't find a copy or figure out how to run it. (before my TWRP seemed to stop running on startup)
Bootloader: I don't know how it ended up relocked after I'd unlocked it but am guessing that is why i cant access the custom recovery at the moment (twrp)
If anyone is able could you walk me through, or point me to a guide to show:
How to unlock a relocked phone,
How to get a Stock version of Android (anything after 4.0 I guess because it will auto update?) running on there
Tell me if I'm being dumb in any part of this (apart from pissing about with things I don't understand, haha)
OK, So i'm unlocked and back onto TWRP, that was easy though, What I do need help with is working out how to install the factory Operating system again, last time I tried that is what caused the relocking etc so any help would be amazing.
Thanks, Simon

No, I don't.
I consider this [Completed] and have thread closed.
If you really want help or have time to help me, you must know the full story
Guys please, I want your help, I am very, very tired of this problem
I had rooted my SM205F
I put it on "ODIN" and it really worked
And I rooted successfully
Now there is a problem
When I restart the phone or turn it off
Or when it runs out of battery and put it on charge
Suddenly back to Download Mode
And when I restart my phone, the same thing happens, which is going back to the Download Mode again
I thought for a while and said, "Ok, let me put the root file again and flash it, I think I'll get out of this mess." I did this and it worked, then I restarted my phone and then found myself also in the same place..When I put any file it really works, I am still in the same place and the only solution is that I am working completely software for the device
This means that I always delete everything on the device
This went on for two days and I couldn't bear it anymore
So I found another way to root
Which is to install "TWRP" recovery on the phone and root it instead of the "ODIN" program, and I did that today
And I succeeded in making a root
But I found out that I was still stuck too
I tried to find a way out by using "TWRP" or writing code, but it didn't help
I don't want to delete everything on my phone and do the same routine every day. This makes me hate my phone and hate something called root.
And I came here because I heard that this place is wonderful and that there are people who help each other solve other people's problems
This is a beautiful thing
Therefore, I want your help and benefit in order to overcome this problem
I have no problem getting stuck here
The problem is that I don't want to delete my phone data let me say for the 11th time
If you have a solution .. please help ..
Right now I'm still stuck, but I'm not going to do anything. I want your help
Thanks.
Hint: Add "SM-205F " to front of this thread's title thus mainly owners of such phone get addressed

Ok thanks
I'm searching these forums, the web, every single website, and I still haven't came across a solution. Cyanogen, clockworkmod, they don't want to cooperate. I really am desperate now.
I'm trying to find a way to easily run a ROM on my phone, or maybe just install it. I'm aiming for Kitkat, but I have no idea how, as almost all of the posts on this forum contain broken links. Please, someone help!!!
Alex
Tell me about your fone.
Whats your skill set, as in do you KNOW how to unlock bootloader? Do you know how to root?
Firmware creators are too busy creating firmware. And fixing Bugs.
If your a noob, I can handle that, in effect, I need more information, because all those broken links are irelevant when what you actually need is found in millions of posts here..
The very reason developers dont answer

Okay.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy W. It's model number is SGH-T679M and it is currently running Gingerbread.
And so I wanted to change that version because... Gingerbread is unsupported, right? So I landed on this forum first, trying out all the ways that I could, and most of them lead me to dead links as I said.
So I went on different web pages, the Android subreddit, all that. Ended up finding this zip file supposedly containing KitKat or something earlier.
I tried to install it how they told me. Already knew how to go into recovery mode, then it told me to go to the apply update from sd card (used the internal storage instead because i could) and it said the MODEL NUMBER WAS WRONG.
It was for the Samsung Exhibit II, model I8150, and that makes no sense. Because they are LITERALLY THE SAME PHONE.
Thought this was gonna be simple but it was being rough on me. This is why I need help, because I honestly don't know what to do anymore. It is so confusing.

correct the link above copy n paste in your browser
Then say if you can handle the work, nothing more. If you are up for it, your best here
