Anyone have the stock froyo fm radio apk they can upload? I have fresh's rom and its removed. It seems fresh provided all the apks to re-install if needed, but that one wont install for some reason.
Thanks
here you go.
Keep in mind you will likely have to install via adb..

That might explain why this doesnt seem to install correctly either. Usually I would click on the apk via astro and click on file manager and install it manually. Via adb do I simply push it to the system/app folder or is there a specific install procedure?
Thanks
(p.s. thanks martijua foir the file)
You could just copy it into the \system\app folder using RootExplorer and set the proper permissions, reboot into recovery, wipe dalvik, reboot.

Ok, used root explorer, put in the system/app folder. Rebooting to recovery and clearing davlik is cake. Where do you set and what are the "proper permissions" ??
Thanks!
Ok, found the permissions, just wanna make sure i checked the right options. Read, write, and execute. I checked them all, hope that was right. Thanks again!
Um, try getting the virus roms removed apps. Maybe those work? I'm not sure if fm radio was removed from that rom

Hi!
Probably, most of you have experienced that Titanium Backup can't be used in some ROMs because of (for example) the incompatibility with ext partitions. That is why I make this mini-guide about how to restore apps (maybe on other ROM) previously saved with Titanium Backup :
What we need
Previously saved apps, on a external SD (Obviously )
ES File explorer (It can be downloaded via PlayStore)
NOTE BEFORE STARTING: You can't restore the data of the app, only the app (apk).
Let's start:
1- Enter on /sdcard/TitaniumBackup/ and search the app you wanna restore:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2- Let's asume that we want install "Flash Player" (for example). When we find it, we can see that there are three files with (moreless) the same name:
3- The only file we need is wich one that has the ".apk.gz" extension (normally it appears like the 3rd), ensure by long pressing it and then entering in "properties":
4- Once we have our desired file, we press on it and we will enter on the ".apk.gz" file. Then, press again and we will get the installation screen:
Ta-da! Magic!
Hope that this mini-guide helped you and of course, you liked it.
Thanks for the info man! I was using CM7 but it had not full superuser and ext support, so i couldn't work properly with it... Now I can install my saved apps.
Regards.
Big help, a massive thank you.
Obviously this would take forever, but thanks!
Thanks for the info but it's not working for me. I tried this using ES file explorer. I located the file alright, but when I tried installing it, it said install failed.
DId I miss something? or is there something wrong with the file?
Again thanks for the info.
neat but one question
Hey man i find your idea cool, but however that does not recover lost data, or am i doing something wrong?
Sorry for the necro, but this thread really helped me so I thought I'd chime in.

My Titanium Backup kept crashing everytime I tried to restore an app. I fixed this by following this guide and then going to the Titanium Backup to restore data. Once you installed the app with this guide the app shows up in Titanium under backed up apps. Then just click the app and ONLY restore data. No crashes and you get your data back!

It worked for me! Try out

Ok, used those apps. Both don't show the .com file from the xda app. Don't think that one is one my Nexus S
Found this thread by Googling and wanted to share a solution that worked for me:
Browse to your /data/ folder and find the name of the app you're having trouble installing. EDIT: Might also be /data/data/
For example:
/data/com.touchtype.swiftkey/
or
/data/com.redbox.android.activity/
and delete that folder. then install the app from Google play. It worked for me.
I used Root Explorer (from the Play Store) to get to these directories.
[ Keyword loading: error code -24 google play, unknown error code during application install -24 ]
Just found this cool recovery file manager so thought should share.Find the original post here.
Aroma file manager lets you manage the file system(copy, cut, paste, delete, make new folder, etc) from both sdcard as well as the root of the device just like any other file manager out there but hold on here's the catch you can do all that from the RECOVERY(well custom recovery to be exact).
The best part is it has a nice touchscreen interface.You can touch and hold on the file to set permissions too.It even has includes a terminal emulator.And you can set themes in it and fonts etc etc.
So all in all a great option to have in case you mess up.No more flashing the whole ROM again just because you messed up with a few apks or files and ended up bootlooping.
So to get started the installation is pretty simple:
1.Copy the zip into your sdcard.
2.Reboot your device into recovery mode.
3.Choose install from sdcard.
4.Select the AROMA Filemanager ZIP.
And there you go the file manager will start up!!!
Edit: To access the system and other folders which are not showing you'll have to mount them first.it's just a one time process actually.
Go to settings and select auto mount all devices at start.apply and reflash the zip you'll get access to everything.!!!
Find the download in the attachment below.

This is to have the custom recovery without installing bootstrappers like bootmenu manager or atrix 2 bootstrapper?

No bro..
This can be flashed only on custom recovery like bootmenu or bootstrapper.the thing is if you are doing some modding or playing around with your system and end up bootlooping(while having the custom recovery)you can correct your wrong doing by this.or even if you wanna copy something to from sdcard while in boot loop or softbrick this will come in handy.

Thanks for testing this out! Wasn't sure if it worked on the A2.. could come in handy.
Sent from my phone's mind
Hi everyone,
I have a rooted my Samsung galaxy s3 mini ve. Because it was permanently running in background, I backed up LogsProvider using ROM toolbox and then I removed it.
Now when I open the phone app, it says "contacts has stopped". So I can't dial a number, but when I open contacts I can select and phone someone.
I already tried wiping contacts data, no success. I tried reinstalling LogsProvider, it says : " LogsProvider wasn't installed ". In logcat I see " dexopt failed"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Vinz243
How please?
Logs provider is a system app, it is not installed with the package manager. You need to copy it back to the system app folder with a root file manager.

and change the permissions to rw-r--r--
Thanks guys I copied LogsProvider.apk into /system/app and set the permissions but the app isn't installed after a reboot: (
So you rebooted and tried the dialer again? Did you double check that the Apk is still in system app folder, and has 644 permissions? Try 777 and reboot again.
Also did you remount the system partition before copying it over?
The dialer did not work and the app were nowhere to be seen in system app. This is the LogsProvider.apk properties:

}
How do I set 777 permissions?
777 is rwx for all three permissions. Also try group root.
I did it and reboot, but it looks like it messed things up. I'm not sure because I also installed or updated several apps, but now the xposed framework doesn't work anymore and on each startup, out asks me which launched I wanna use
Sounds like you gotta reflash to stock (or custom rom) and start from scratch re rooting and everything.
Thanks. How can I efficiently backup everything in a stroke? I have a very bad experience of adb backup or other backup solution. Perhaps copying data folder would be OK? And secondly where can I get a tutorial in order to reflash the ROM?
I made this boot animation I wanted to share with everyone. Its made for 1280*800 resolution but should work with other samsung tablets as well. Hope you like

The Earth spinning one was very nice. Unfortunately I was unable to try the Night Sky one because every time I tried I got an error saying the files were too big, whether I tried to copy/move them simultaneously or individually. Yes obviously I have been setting permissions

I tried File Explorer and Root explorer with no issues. I copy past all the files to system/media and over write the existing files

I tried both ES file explorer and Root explorer, those are my go-to tools, and yeah that's what I do, overwrite the existing files. Worked fine for spinning earth but not for night sky, even when I tried restoring the stock boot animation first (I always copy the stock files to a secure location first)
Not sure what to tell you. If its doing that with stock boot files too it would indicate another issue. Maybe clear cash in recovery
