Hi all, I was wondering, where does HD2 store the icons for programs installed?
Using a file explorer, navigate to Application Data (Device)----HTC-----ProgLauncher.
But what are you planning to do?

Why aren't you using JWMD or CSMI to change all the program icons??
It works a lot better than really replacing/renaming them by hand

That is what I have in that folder? activesync.bmg, adobe reader.bmg, etc. I opened that folder expecting to find png's???

I think it would be a lot easier for you to just replace the icons with JWMD or CSMI.
When you've replaced all program icons you wanted to change, don't forget to clear Sense's cache to get results.
You can either do it manually or by using SICC
Grtz,
Degake
p.s. Are you sure you aren't seeing ".bmp" instead of ".bmg"??

The reason for wanting the stock images, is if you cannot find a png on the net to make an icon. I know how to make icons, check sig, but I am wondering why they have a file extension of .BMG? Or is it something that is messed up on my system.
I would like to retrieve the icon images for B&L gps tracker, etc, so that I may create a custom icon out of the original. Sometimes the cab installer will have a png image in the program files folder, but not usually.

Hey guys, just made these images for changing the Topbar Task Manager Icon. Feel free to use openly. They are based off of the default Notification Icon for the Task Manager on Windows 7.
And, Battery Icons I'm working on...
Edit: Right-click and save as, than copy to kaiser/Tilt to view to see what it'll look like better. Has numbers for percentage that aren't showing in the thumbnail below due to them being white and too close to the page's background color...
why can't I see attched photos?
sorry, may this is not about your thread, but I am interested it.

They are very small, 16x16 Pixel, the size of the topbar icons. So they maybe showing up on your screen and you may have just overlooked them depending on your screen resolution.
I'm saving the battery icons atm, will upload a zip soon...
Here's all the Battery Images.

This is a very old thread now. The images need to be put into the taskservice.dll of an old build of the Task Manager. The new version doesn't support skinning of this type. Please see this thread for more information on the newer builds that use a binary registry value to control the icon.
Hello everybody.
I've installed a magnificent ROM in my HD2, I like it all but the changed icons set. Is it possible to have a CAB containing thge original Windows Mobile Icons set to replace the modified one?
Or where are the files to extract from the orginal HTC rom to override the actual ones to get the original icons?
Thanks and regards
Andrea

The majority of the icons you see in a stock ROM are actually the icons embedded in the applications themselves. Icon's are generally not stored as separate entities on your device. This isn't always the case, but it's normal.
The modified icons you see are actually tied into the shortcuts, not the applications. To remove modified icons, you need to look at the following registry key...
\HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\Start
In there you will find registry keys that have are shortcuts and have a value called "Icon". (Guess what that is )
You can delete things from there, and as long as the app has its own icon, it will use that instead.
Just PLEASE make a backup of that whole registry key before you start. I'm not gonna be your 1st line support for the next month if you gash this up lol.
Hope that helps matey
I believe you can use a simple way to restore.JWMD Icon Changer has an option to restore/reset the icon. PLease tell us if it works.

Is there a way of making the notification bar at the top of Cookies home tab (when the phone is locked) coloured? I have searched the forum but cannot seem to find anything.

Just to clarify - this only alters the notification bar when the phone is locked?
so, here the full menu
It alters the notification icons in homescreen and lockscreen (they are the same), the lock icon in homescreen and the battery and signal icon in the lockscreen.
Edit: Sorry, the cab in the post was an older version of the notifications (screenshot in post 7). Now it's the right version.

Thank you and sorry very much. This was an old version for my personal use. I'll change the cab.
I've got DCJLeo W.M 6.5 taskbar v4d green, on my main screen,
now i would like the same in the locked bar of co0kie 1.71
Does anyone know how to do that
Thanks

You have to go in the phcanOverbmp.dll (in windows directory). Copy this file to your PC and open it with XN Resource Editor http://www.wilsonc.demon.co.uk/d10resourceeditor.htm. Export the icons. Then you have to change the 6467A103_manila file (also in windows directory). Take my 6467A103_manila.png as a template for the icons and change it with for example Gimp or Photoshop. Second last step: Go with CFC GUI http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470798 to the directory of your copied 6467A103_manila file and replace the image with your changed picture. Last step: Copy this changed 6467A103_manila file in your phone's windows directory.

Hey Rat,
I'm curious about which of those .CAB files you posted earlier is the one that has the "Anastasia" glass-like design around the icons?
I'd like to use that, it would go perfectly with my theme.
Thanks in advance.

As I said in a PM to Reignzone, it was a slip by me and I changed it when I noticed it. This version was only for my personal use. I respect Dinik and will not post anything in his style without his agreement. I beg other users to do the same.

I cannot find the SRS WOW icon in the file explorer to edit it using any icon editing tools. Can anyone tell me how/where to find it? I see it in the start menu, but I cannot find it with File Exporer, CSMI, etc.
Easy way to fix it!
Most easy way to fix it is to just move the icon to another place in your setting page! after that you will be able to change the program.
that meens your icon changer program can find it!
By the way i am using JWMD Icon Changer.
