Hey all,
I've got mine on pre-order and have been looking around for ideas about what comes in the box. I found this: http://www.slashphone.com/htc-touch-...unboxing-16485 and various other links to the same sourse.
It appears you get a charger, headphones, USB lead. However, there is no case?
There were rumours around that the special self-cleaning case might be included: http://www.phonemag.com/htc-touch-di...deo-052706.php but this is not present in the unboxing pics. For a phone to come from HTC without a case is a little strange...
Anyone found anything more about this???
I don't think it's gonna be in the box.
The case is about €15
case
O2 Orbit didnt have a case either, maybe thats just O2 but it does show they will drop it if need be
I think the Orbit 2 does come with a case AKA Touch Cruise

true. bought 2 orbit 2's and both had a case. they came with co pilot too. so maybe the one's without copilot didn't have a case.
i really think this phone needs to be cased
with that back it won't take long before it gets messed up
Htc Touch Diamond
I just got my Diamond this afternoon in Hong Kong and confirm that the case is not included.
HTC Diamond is without the case, the german xda diamond you will get with the case!
The contents of the box is probably region specific in some cases.
It appears that it will be case-less. So, I ordered the HTC slip case for it - only a £10'er so if I end up with two of them no big deal....
Now, TomTom is another matter - let's hope that comes with it!

Take a look what is inside the box:

I have got a business version, which does not include copilot and extras ( car charger/mount). And mines comes with the pouch(case). Advice to users. if you have the orbit2 please do not buy crystal cases or screen protectors form ebay because i bought a case and a protector and they do not fit as it is different.
Please can you post a pics of your package with accesories, was it from portugal

Plenty of articles on this and HTC is not happy about it.
Especially as HTC Europe will NOT support Hong Kong import models (and they are easy to trace with S/N and Imei.
Wonder how long you gonna mis your Diamond if needed to send back (to Hong Kong) for repair.
Price comparison:
Bought mine in HK yesterday for 5600 HKD downtown . Should be around 700US.
Euro pricing avarage : 585 -600 Euro. Do the maths and understand why Expansys is importing (though they will mention it on their sites if it is UK / HK or whatever version normally)
Is there a screen protector included in the box? Some unboxing reviews I've seen included a screen protector; others make no mention of one.

Yes, there is a SP in the box, but the quality is bad. Scratches easely, gives like a fume - dusty look when in sunlight.
I wait for a better quality OEM version - to reccomend.

Yeah, most freebies that come in any package are generally crap to slightly acceptable quality. I guess it will do for the time being whilst I source out a full-body skin/shield or a good quality SP & case. Any word on Martin Fields SPs?

Hi
From what i've read on this forum, the Steinheil seems to be the best screen protector with others saying its invisible shield.
Could someone recommend where i can get either of these cheapest delivered to uk (ebay seems dodgy with so many fakes). And if i should buy a specific version of these (there seems to be many varieties, which has me confused).
Thanks
had the invisible shield on all my previous phones but the one for galaxy s really sucks imho!
Don't anywhere in the UK for Steinheil, just ordered mine of there website last nigh(Ultra Crystal) now just have to wait for it.Will post how long it takes.
Just seen a post by epicguy and hes found a site in France that sells them, may get quicker delivery

How much did it cost?
Can i ask why you chose the ultra crystal over the oleophobic?
Given the above users response about invisibleshield beind terrible for the galaxy s. I'm leaning towards steinheil now.

I´m located in denmark.

crystal clear since the other one dampens the color of the screen, not by much. but still.

Purely because it's cheaper?
Oleophobic is better than Clear Screen if you don't want to sacrifice colour to matte anti-glare.
I have tried both types of screen. Both the Oleophobic and the Ultra Crystal are very similar, oleophobic has a slightly more rubbery texture but it's barely any different from the other. I ordered mine from one of the sites on the forums here, exportprive.com. No problems so far and they fit the i9000M precisely.
As there is no Omnia forum I'll ask in here, which is a bit silly as the shape of the focus is different to the Omnia so cases aren't compatible.
Has anyone ordered a case for the Omnia yet? I'm looking for a clear plastic case that snaps over it to keep it scratch free but open to any ideas from other users.
I'm looking for something to protect that beautiful screen and can't find a thing - if you find something please update us hear! Thanks

I have ordered Martin Fields screen protector from Mobil Fun yesterday and received a despatched message today.
I got this screen protector on ebay, should be getting it next week:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Vikuiti-DQC-...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item27b5fe8306
I'm thinking of something like this. Not sure what it will be like though. Not in stock though, so will wait before ordering.
Anything similar to this

Forget what anyone tells you. You want the screen protectors available on eBay from the seller dcmugen88. I have no affiliation with the guy, but his product is ridiculously high quality, perfect fit, AND he sells a 4-5 pack for $2-3! I've bought from him three times now... twice for my N1 (the protectors last a few months at a time easy, but I wanted extras) and once for my GF's G2.
It's a static screen protector with a mild adhesive, and no wet install.... just peel and stick following the directions.
Here's the link to his eBay page and store... he's in Hong Kong though, so b/c of the Chinese New Year, he's not selling anything for another week or so.

This is the truth, i get all my screen from this guy for years now. I used the anti glare version and its bloody marvelous, dcmugen is the king of internet screen protectors, thank god too cause all his **** is like 5 dollars for a pack of 8 lol
I have used bestskinsever.com which is similar to InvisiShield. After a year or so it started to peel and get gunk it in the corners. It add's a nice grip however.

I'm not sure what's happening to dcmugen; they don't have anything for sell now. They seem to suffer some quality issue as well.
I've bought from them for 4 different phones, 3 of them were perfect cut (Omnia 2, htc Magic & Nexus One), but the last one (Desire Z) was just terrible. The screen protector size is "a lot" smaller than the screen, approx 3~4mm shorter and 1mm narrower. Then I read his feedbacks and found other people having similar issues.
Not sure if they are trying to cut corners or what. Hopefully they'll come back with better products.
In the meanwhile, can anyone recommend an alternative to dcmugen? Thanks.
Just fyi, dcmugen never sells thing this time of year..he takes a couple weeks off for Chinese new year. Wish I could recommend something else, but if you have a nexus one, this is the best there is IMO.

Invisible shield. The thing is noticeably thicker than most of the others. I've used my phone for a year and nothing has happened. It's just still there.

Those are from Zagg right? Someone told me that those are the best ones, I bought one on ebay, Ill receive it this sunday.
I like Clarivue's Crystal line, after trying others.
Hey,
First off, yes - I used the search feature. No thread actually asks whats the best screen protector is?
I'm looking for one that's easy to apply. HOPEFULLY not liquid based. The static cling ones seem to work well...
Either way, liquid-based or static, I'm just looking for the best feeling screen protector that does it job. Any links, personal experience, etc, would be great!
I've seen a few on eBay but I've heard that they don't have the proper edges to the screen and such... Like, it doesn't fit with the contours of the screen, how the Sensation's screen curves.
Anyways, TLDR: looking for the best screen protector based on personal experience.
I can tell you one NOT to get - the Martin Fields Screen Protector. Terrible fit
The best protectors I have used so far are the official htc ones. Great fit. But hard to get the corners down. i soaked them in water as it makes it easier to align and apply.
I just installed my phantomskinz. Got a few little bubbles and is a bit hazy. Need to wait a day or two before they go away, hopefully.
I will go for the official htc ones. Very smooth! But are fingerprint magnets.
I've got some official ones on order at the mo, hopefully arrive 2moro. When you say soak them in water do you mean give them a quick dunk or a proper soak?

I gave it a proper soak in warm water to soften it up to try and mould it to the corners.
It doesn't matter really. If you have lint stuck on the protector, you can wash it in soapy water and re-apply. Once applied you will notice some haziness due to the soap. It goes away after a day or two.
The hTC ones seem to be the favorite..
the only place i've found in the US to purchase them are expansys-usa.com and they are out of stock until August...
Anyone else know where we can purchase these??

One here, won't ship to Italy:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140567951769
dont use this guy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280703853817 the corners are not cut properly so they overhang the ridge on the edge of the screen leaving large air pockets.. just been on trimming one as 6 came and gave up, probs try another seller
i just bought two packs of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-X-GENUINE-H...LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item20ba80b999#shId
ended up being about $18. Not bad considering they're $11 each pack in the US, and they will probably get here earlier than the ones from expansys-usa.
