Hey,
First off, yes - I used the search feature. No thread actually asks whats the best screen protector is?
I'm looking for one that's easy to apply. HOPEFULLY not liquid based. The static cling ones seem to work well...
Either way, liquid-based or static, I'm just looking for the best feeling screen protector that does it job. Any links, personal experience, etc, would be great!
I've seen a few on eBay but I've heard that they don't have the proper edges to the screen and such... Like, it doesn't fit with the contours of the screen, how the Sensation's screen curves.
Anyways, TLDR: looking for the best screen protector based on personal experience.
I can tell you one NOT to get - the Martin Fields Screen Protector. Terrible fit
The best protectors I have used so far are the official htc ones. Great fit. But hard to get the corners down. i soaked them in water as it makes it easier to align and apply.
I just installed my phantomskinz. Got a few little bubbles and is a bit hazy. Need to wait a day or two before they go away, hopefully.
I will go for the official htc ones. Very smooth! But are fingerprint magnets.
I've got some official ones on order at the mo, hopefully arrive 2moro. When you say soak them in water do you mean give them a quick dunk or a proper soak?

I gave it a proper soak in warm water to soften it up to try and mould it to the corners.
It doesn't matter really. If you have lint stuck on the protector, you can wash it in soapy water and re-apply. Once applied you will notice some haziness due to the soap. It goes away after a day or two.
The hTC ones seem to be the favorite..
the only place i've found in the US to purchase them are expansys-usa.com and they are out of stock until August...
Anyone else know where we can purchase these??

dont use this guy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280703853817 the corners are not cut properly so they overhang the ridge on the edge of the screen leaving large air pockets.. just been on trimming one as 6 came and gave up, probs try another seller
i just bought two packs of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-X-GENUINE-H...LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item20ba80b999#shId
ended up being about $18. Not bad considering they're $11 each pack in the US, and they will probably get here earlier than the ones from expansys-usa.

I was the same way. but I feel that the universal ones are of a lesser quality and tend to scratch easier. Also cutting them just right is a pain.

I got my G2 yesterday and bought the screen protectors from T-Mobile. Didn't have them do it in store because I was in a hurry and when I got home and applied them they leave the screen looking very fuzzy.
Anyone else noticed this?

Did you get the anti-smear screen protectors?
If so, how are they... i am still shaky on spending 15 dollars on (2) screen protectors
Yes these are the anti smear screen protectors and I am taking them back today. It bothers me to look at the screen for too long because it looks like it really gives a green or pink tint depending on how you look at the screen.

How does the screen protector feel with this product? It it kind of like the invisible shield? or it it more of a glossy "glass" like feel?
I had the MyTouch 3G and i could buy these awesome glossy screen protectors that felt just like the glass. Fast forwarded to the HD2 (just wanted a phone to mess around with) and the matte screen diffusers really irked me, so i dont want more of those if i can avoid it.

Not only are they anti-smear they are anti-glare. compare the protector to another glossy type and you will see that the glossy will reflect, while the ant-smear almost does not. you gain anti smudge/glare , but know the protector is disturbing the clarity of the screen. I just ordered Stealth Guards. I had this on my HD2. Its a copy of the invisible shield. It does not include the solution for install, but you can make your own, instructions included. It's free right now , only pay shipping (same deal on my HD2) 4 kits ran me $8.85. My HD2 has had it on about 6 months and it looks great and gives a nice feel to the phone.
I've read nothing but good reviews of this screen protector, had to get some for myself. I can't wait for that glass feel.

All anti-smear/glare protectors give a grainy look. it is due to the texture of the material. since it diffusing the clarity of the reflection it also diffuses the screen. ask an employee at a store if they can open a pack for you, so you can lay over the protector on your phone so you can get an idea.
personally its not that horrible. i just have it on until my stealth guards arrive.
Just ordered some stealth guards
I have had success with ebay seller dcmugen but don't know if he has our model yet.
You can get pre-cut sp's for cheap but if you really insist on cutting it like i did because i had an couple of hd2 sp's laying around use the plastic that came on the screen as a guide. take an exacto blade to it. i didn't want to mess with 2 rounded edges so i left the flat side and placed it above the menu buttons.
i tell you this much though, if you cut them the edges will be lifted slightly from the cut unless you file it. needless to say this is just a temporary solution for me until i either decide to return it or keep the phone in which case i would buy a pre-cut one.

I ordered the same.
Pros:
* It fits perfectly fine.
* Looks sturdy.
* Application was easy.
Cons:
* Not smooth for sure. rubbery feel is reducing the feel f the phone.
* Back glass doen't look as glorious as it could be.
* Considering the cost they could send a spray to make the application process easier.
I hope its helpful.

Guys I wonder if you can help, I need a protector that covers the whole screen, the two ive tried are approximately 5mm to narrow (same as the factory fitted protector) I take it the reason being its because of the curved screen, the protector would lift, if cut to the edge.
Does anyone know of such a protector that allows for the edge curve and fits perfectly?
Thanks

I'm wondering about that too, so far the screen protectors I've seen don't cater towards the rounded edges of the screen. Instead the tend to leave a blunt cut just before the screen curves.
I personally don't like those either. I was looking at Martin Fields protector as I had one on my Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 7 and both worked fine. I am worried about the protector lifting though
I am seeing a lot of screen protectors coming out on amazon, that are from small companies, was wondering if anybody has ever tried them and which one is the best one? Should I go try some of them out or wait for Zagg to come out of one of their own for the Moto Z/Z force?
Never felt like paying the premium for Zagg stuff; I've been using Skinomi protectors on my last three phones (it's the same material as Zagg/GadgetGuard etc). Have the TechSkin on my Z Force and it fits PERFECTLY, right up to the edge. Tried the MatteSkin once, but found it de-contrasted my screen way too much.

Well crap. I thought it was the Force that had the 2.5D screen edges. We aren't ever going to get a decent glass screen protector for this phone. My S7 was just like this and as popular as it is doesn't have a good glass screen protector.

how is the fit?
I wish I would have come across this thread before I bought the IQ Shield Tempered Glass protector. Clarity and feel are amazing but the edges don't seal!! It really grinds my gears.
Just bought a generic tempered glass (I highly doubt it is real tempered glass, maybe just some plastic). It is really cheap, not prone to fingerprints, and it makes the screen look great. Adhesion is nice, no abnormal lifts from the sides. Here are some pictures and the price tag.
I'm jealous, that seal looks perfect! I paid twice as much and mine is lifted on the left, right, and bottom edges.

Installed today... The front screen protector is of good quality and attach perfectly on screen even if it is a bit small in size in all directions in my opinion. Great transparency and print resistance too...
The back one is like old screen protections and it's impossible to fit it without a lot of bubble...
Too much for me so I removed... It's a pity since it had a good print resistance too... that was really needed.
Anyone found a screen protector that covers the entire front?

Here are some photos to show how much it covers the phone: https://goo.gl/photos/fokxXnJzSq58zKAU6
I didn't get it on exactly perfect but if I did then I think it would have been pretty close to full coverage. I'm considering pull it off and replacing it. Also, I bought a full body protector so that I could put something on the back to protect from scratches and some finger prints. When I pulled it out and looked at it before applying it to the phone then I noticed there was no hole for the gold connection pins to pass through. I was very disappointed. Here is a link to the full body protector.

I preordered CrashGuard bumper.
Nothing yet.
All they said is the first half of August and there is still no update on the official launch date. Can't wait to use rhino shield, first time ever trying the product.
I had one one my Nexus 6P and absolutely loved it. I contacted rhinoshield about making one for the lgv30 and was super disappointed that they had no intentions to produce the case for that phone. Now here I am with a OnePlus 6 and am foaming at the bit for my pre-ordered crash gaurd to finally ship. I think the thing that I like the most about the case is that you get to feel the quality of your phone. With standard cases your left with some sub-par feeling in your hand and fingers. With the crash gaurd you get to experience the quality build of these flagships but still feel somewhat protected. I used to just roll without a case but my fiance is a phone wrecking machine. She's constantly knocking it off the table or magically scratching the screen. I don't even know how she manages to do the things to my phone that she does.
Tempted to oreorder the crash guard as well. Have the oem tgsp installed, hope it doesn't interfere. I feel the need to have this red back open and airee out. May just bite the bullet.
Is not available yet, is it?

I think the idea is that the phone never touches flat surfaces when the Crashguard is on. So, even if you drop the phone, as long as the surface is flat, you will never damage the glass of the phone. Unless you drop it right on top of a small rock.
Wait 1-2 days if you like, the shipping facility for my order is less than 300 miles away. I'll post a short review after I get it.

I still hasn't shipped yet. I think it may be on its way from Canada to a town in Illinois.
Arriving on Tuesday.
Lucky you! I received an email stating that Mine "shipped" on Thursday and as of Monday is still stuck in "pre-shipment". Waiting patiently over here...
You have been warned!

Use virgin oil with a cottonswab around the edges. Thank me later!
Im going to thank you for the comment but not for the advice. It would take way too much oil to cover all that up on this phone.

No it won't lol I have the same protector and same problem. After I applied it it looks like new. No oil leaks or anything. Had it for 2 weeks already and still looks good. All it takes is a swab.
Thank you thank you thank you. Can't believe I tried this and how awesome it looks! Didn't take too much oil!

Glad to have helped out. Looks pretty good!
But does it cover the entire screen? I purchased one of these a couple weeks back and received a protector that 1mm of viewable screen (not the bezel, but actual screen) on the left and right sides. I receiving a new one in the mail after complaining, but not sure if i'll use it as I purchased a Poetic case that comes with a screen protector that looks and feels really nice.
The olive oil solution worked for less than a week. Any other tips?

Weird.. mines still going strong.. 3 weeks.
Do the oil again it will hold eventually
Any type of oil will work. I used cooking oil for many phones already. Do note that if you apply too much pressure on the place where you used oil, the oil will come out and you'll have to reapply it again.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Etm...Phone-Screen-Protector-White/32853915703.html
(this one is liquid + a brush, aka a manual application)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hot...Liquid-with-Brush-For-iPhone/32826228492.html
(in a tube so it's less messy, I'm not sure if the tip is flat to fit between the screen protector and glass of the phone though)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/IMI...-Tempered-Glass-White-Border/32826325800.html
(pretty sure this has a flat edge)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Tem...or-Phone-Arc-Models-with-the/32864576034.html
(this one is interesting, never seen this type of brush before)
I received this with my PH-1 screen protector I got off Ali that wasn't full cover back when the Sprint deal was still going on. It's been holding all the way since then
If the prices rise above $2 (or even $1, some sellers like jacking up the prices), just go to Ali and search "tempered glass edge liquid" or some variation of that and sort by lowest price + free shipping.

There's absolutely no need to buy this crap when you can do this at home for free. Now you have to wait for shipping too? Lol ridiculous

I've had the phone since the Sprint deal when I applied it then. There's been no issues all the way up to now. Meanwhile with cooking oil, it requires you to reapply often, which is a messy pain in the ass.
Yes, cooking oil is free and available, but it's not really a permanent method. It's more of an interim method. But I've also heard reports of cooking oil lasting forever as well. But not in OP's case, it only lasted him a under a week.
