[REQ] TTS Locale for voice recog. App re deaf users - Android Apps and Games

Ok. My speech is not normal as far as Googles definition of normal American English dialect. It is "deaf" sounding. I've never been able to get my phone to understand me for any command. I tried EDWINs app and I've given up...so I come to you to see what needs to be done.
How do I create my own library?
Thanks

[huawey u8150] [zip update] voice commands offline

I managed a fully working voice commands for my huawei ideos. Thanks goes to 89luca89 from androidiani.com his version of the zip doesn't work on every device due to the lack of gscript.
so here's my version, I think it should work an any froyo device, just flash it and try it.
http://senotones.blogspot.com/2011/02/voice-commands-offline-on-froyo.html
If I flash and I want to revert for whatever reason, do I need to revert to a backup image, reflash my rom or is there some other way to uninstall?
you should be able to remove it by deleting the VsuiteApp.apk and GScript.apk in /system/app well I'm not sure because I use it often and I don't need to remove it.
I can try later
Thanks, just want to gather up the basics before I do an article (here) on this as this sounds pretty good.
What would make it golden (other than not needing root etc) to me at least is if you could somehow map the thing to be triggered by the wired headset buttons of most/all phones/nexuses and/or bluetooth.
Guess I should test it out before I start making suggestions. Thanks man. I tossed it on my server for you, let me know if you want me to take it down or if you've got another version: mirror.batteryboss.org/signed-Voice.zip
That would be FANTASTIC !!! What about a short video on youtube to demo what you achieved ?
I can try to make an apk with bt trigger next week. this zip is a leak that 89luca89 get from motorola devices.
can you explain what this app does ? I am looking for a old fashion voice dialer (which records a voice tag for each contact and then dials that number).
I am sick of crappy google voice recognition which always gets it wrong.
bump.........
this allow you to use voice commands to recall some function.
for example, once you run it, it waits your input and if you say: "calls john" it try to call john if john has only one number, if john has mobile and home, voice commands ask you wich number you want to call.
You can say so "calls John mobile" or "call 03236548"
or you can invoice some app "run gmail" and it opens gmail
the voice recognition is pretty good, you can also teach voice command to recognize your own voice
gave you some press.. mobilitydigest.com/offline-voice-commanding-for-android
thanks man

@zicoxx can you tell exactly what's the error log?
nitro-ale, does this app works (recognise the command) even using a language other than English ?
I'm using it in italian
any way to get it to work like old cell phone voice dialing ? i.e. you save a voice name for a phone number and then it dials that number when you speak it in bluetooth.
I really hate android's voice recognition, that never gets to recognize my accented voice. not to mention that it requires data.
I really think it's a good app, it recognizes 80% of my portuguese language. But in order to recognise 100% we must enter "adaptation" menu and repeat sereral words and phrases. Here, i cannot pass the "say 237354483" (number not the same...lol). App says to repeat the numbers and then it says that time expired....sadly...anything that you could do?? Say, record same things in the computer and then export into the folder?
Seems strange I Will take a look sorry I have no time at all in these days

[Q] Google Voice Actions

Is anyone having problems with getting Google Voice Actions to work? The language on my G2X is set to English US, and I'm in the US so I know that's not the problem. Nothing works, and the app is updated. If I try to say "Navigate to ...." it does a Google search for the thing I said to navigate to.
I'd love any suggestions
Can you clarify a bit. You said nothing works but it did search when you use navigation.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
The only thing it does is search by voice. It doesn't navigate, send text to, set alarm, or anything else. I can say navigate to .... and all it will do is google search for the last thing it heard. If I say send text to Joe, it'll google search for joe.
It works flawlessly on my nexus S, so I don't know what the problem could be.
Anybody have a solution, as I've tried everything.
I unrooted and restored to out-of-the-box state and it didn't help.
However, when I changed the language to English (UK) I was able to get the "Navigate to..." option working, but the other voice actions only work in the US as of right now, so it's kind of pointless. The person that this phone belongs to, really only wanted the navigation voice action so in theory the problem is solved, but she said she would also like the other voice actions as well and I'm completely baffled as to why all the other android phones in the house can accomplish the voice actions and the g2x cannot.
Are any other g2x owners unable to perform any of the voice actions, or am I the only one?
Mine is working just fine with voice commands. I tried a bunch of different ones to be sure and they all work appropriately.
I don't have any ideas for you but just wanted to chime in that its not a universal issue.

Ok I'd like people to check something for me.
On my Nexus S when I click Settings>Voice Input and Output> "Voice Recognizer settings", recognizer is spelled like you would see in the US, "recognizer."
However, on the G2X, it's spelled "recogniser" like you would see in a British spelling. How is recognizer spelled on your guys' G2X, is it "recognizer" or "recogniser"
Mine is spelled the American way with a "z". Myself I am rather perturbed at the voice dialing. My contact list has everyone with first and last name and I would like to be able to use nicknames instead of the long full name. Especially in the case of my father and brother who are Joe XXXX Jr. and Joe XXXX III. Don't know why I can't use nicknames instead and say Brother, or my friend Patty, instead of Patty XXXX.

Mine is spelled "Recogniser". I'm on Eagle's Blood 1.0.4 Froyo, for what it's worth.
I use mine all the time. I always use "Call dominoes (zip)" or "call jenna mobile".
I've used "text jenna i'm horny" but I'd rather just type it. It does work well in the car when I'm driving. I use call just to save me from looking it up, remembering the number, and dialing it.
I do use "map address" though. That works well too.
Overall it does work well for me. I'm on CM7 and I just downloaded it from the market (no GAPPS). "Reconizer" is spelled with a "Z" on mine too.

Well I'm officially out of ideas then. I'm going to wait for the official G2X Gingerbread update this summer and if that doesn't fix the problem, then I'll be putting either CM7 or one of the other Roms on it.

Just checked mine, its spelt recogniser. I'm using stock on my g2x. Apparently not much thought went into converting the overseas version to the US version, also apparent little QA was actually done on this phone to miss something that obvious.

[Q] Voice command app

Hi there,
I'm looking for a voice command app with the following features:
1. Activated via sound (no need to press a button or open an app)
2. Being able to record custom commands. That is, I'm looking for an app that does not use the google voice recognition, but one that allows me to record, say, "phone, shut up" and then make the phone recognize that as a command to mute.
I don't know if such an app is even technically possible, but if it does exist, I wasn't able to find it.
Thanks
I will be interested in this too. Trying to find this kind of apps.
The nearest app to your request is vlingo, but doesn't have the option to record custom commands for custom actions...

All vlingo does for me is force close as soon as it's opened. Shame...any alternatives?
There's an app for windows mobile called Voice2go. You can customize any voice for apps or contacts. You can let the app runs in the back ground too so when you need to dial a contact you just say the magic word. For instance I modify the command to activate it by saying a modified word like "dude" and just say the name in the contact which you have tagged your voice to it. "dude" "tea bag"... Then the app execute it by calling "tea bag"
Too bad android don't have this kind of app. It's very useful for me since English is not my language (android voice recognition is not very friendly to me)
But there's an app for android which used the same method but I haven't used it (it's not a free app) called CYBERON VOICE SPEED DIAL. Try it... Maybe that's what you're looking for.

Jelly Bean - Voice assistant doesn't speak

Just got the OTA to Jelly Bean. Everything works fine except the voice search/assistant - it doesn't speak when I ask sometging (for example weather). I have set US English everywhere, set the assistant to always speak, but it still doesn't speak. Any suggestions are welcome.
Is you volume on? Yes, silly question, but make sure your volume is on. Maybe put in headphones and see if it works. Very basic ideas, but thats all I can think of

I flashed the factory images for Soju and then installed the .zip from google servers using CWM then I flashed my radio back and booted up.
Everything is smooth and FINE.

For a tasker novel user

Hi Everyone. I ve juste started testing tasker using basics proyects. Ive just started to try the voice recognition, but I m stuck in that.
The general idea of the proyect is that when I tell google photo, my phone open the camara( As simple as that)
My app installed are: Tasker and Autovoice
These are my steps
Tasker__ profile__new__event___plugin___autovoice___recognize___configuration
Then in autovoice____commands___"photo"
Back to tasker
new task___newName____"Camara"____add an accion____Multimedia____photo____archive name (photo)
So the the profile es assigned to the task. I selected Auto Voice recognized Easy switched to yes.
Back to may phone settings. In the accessibility section, I put the auto voice Google google now integration on. Auto voice pop up " Intercepting google app searches"
In the google voice search a say "photo". The result is a search of web pages that match with the word mentioned, and the phone camera never appear. ( Ive already check the google mic)
I wish someone could help me in this query.
Thank in advance.
- I created e new profile call photo.

Google now/Google Assistant already has the ability to open camera by voice command, why are you using tasker to do this? All you have to do is call google now/Assistant to attention, then say "open camera" and it opens the camera. Or is that too complicated for you?

Somehow he solved the problem. BTW what kind of novels you refer to. I read light novel, they are really light. How to explain to people my obsession with Japanese culture and their books. I'm happy that I discovered a good website now an app to read all light novels in English. Maybe in a few years, I will start to learn Japanese to read them in the original variant. Comedy and romantic ae my favorite and I try to imitate the voices of the characters.

They did not mean novel user as in a book reader, they meant novel user as in someone unfamiliar/new to using Tasker.
