Probably your best bet.

I just installed titanium backup to backup apps and settings.
So far, all it has done is ask me for root access. About 400 times. It's asking for root permissions for the same package, UID, everything, and it's rendered the app useless.
Anyone know whats going on?
Obvious question but do you have root access?
Also, click on the problems button at the bottom to install busybox.
I have root access and installing that doesn't help. Not what i expected from an app everyone says is brilliant. Are there any alternatives to TB?

Are you rooted with busy box? Have you clicked on the problems tab

Yeah, installed the version of busybox it came with. Still no good, it's making me have to reboot my phone every time i even open the app. I've reinstalled busybox, TB and superuser, still no good.
Ever since I upgraded to 2.2 I've been having issues with superuser. I always receive the notification when an app requests SU, and SU does list those items as having SU permissions, however - I'm having varying results;
Titanium backup - Can remove non system apps fine, can freeze system apps fine, but if I try to uninstall one (for example, stock MMS) it just hangs, and does nothing (I'm able to press home to get out but the process continues to run until I end it.) The rest of the app appears to function as normal.
Quickboot- works just fine (yet requires superuser)
Root Explorer- I'm able to delete system files but as soon as I refresh the folder where I deleted the app, it's still there. (And yes I'm mounted as R/W)
Flashing through recovery - works just fine, no issues.
So far this is what I've done that I thought would correct the issue;
(Firstly, I tried using superoneclick before PNP came out) Tried attempting with both ways and superoneclick advised that root was a success. After doing so, I still had the issues above.
Lastly, I decided to do a clean start when PNP came out so I went back and re-did the 2.2 leak (with odin) re-did CWM, re-flashed PNP (and a theme) yet I'm still in the same situation.
My question is, is anyone else having this issue?
If i'm the only one I will just try to start over again (this time using the updated leak that includes recovery)
I know Ti Backup had issues with removing system apps. As for root explorer I haven't tried to remove any system apps with it.

Still doesn't work for me to uninstall apps. I just downloaded Uninstaller for Root from the market and it works fine. Do my backups in TB and uninstall from UfR.

I updated my root explorer and did a fresh install and it corrected the problem also.
Had same issue with TI, used Uninstaller for root but using pick'n'pack was pretty much the same experience
Dually noted on the uninstallation and reinstall of root explorer...
Hi, this is kind of a difficult question for me to explain, but I will try.
I have Titanium Backup installed and it was working fine for a while.
One day the icon went corrupt and the app would not open.
Naturally I went to uninstall and reinstall the apk.
When I uninstalled, the app icon and links disappeared and the app ceased to function, but the app did not uninstall.
When I try to reinstall, it asks to replace the old with the new one.
The install finishes with "Application Not Installed"
I can not access Titanium Backup at all.
I have tried using ADB to uninstall and I have uninstalled from the manage applications. I also tried deleting the .apk from /data/app/.
Titanium backup will no longer show up in my Manage Application menu.
I made a flashable .zip from another phone and installed it that way, TiBu still did not show up in the app list, but all the files are in the phones filesystem.
Hopefully someone can help me fix this without reinstalling the ROM.
The problem phone: HTC Hero CDMA CM7 Nightlies.
Thank you!
I hate to bump my own post, but my thread seems to have gotten lost among newer ones and I do not know where else to ask for help fixing it.
My device:
I have a 7" iDeaUSA YG A777 Android Tablet that is rooted. The version of Android it is running is 4.0.3. The kernel on the device is 3.0.8-tcc [email protected] #97.
My problem:
When I try to back up my device using the MyBackup app, the device reboots in the middle of the backup. When I attempt another back up after the reboot, I get the same results. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, but that doesn't work. Clearing the app's cache doesn't work, either. I also tried doing a factory reset and restoring everything manually, but that also didn't work. I read a few posts that suggested that the SD card or USB flash drive might be the cause, but that isn't the case (at least in regards to my situation) because the same thing happens when I try to back up online to MyBackup's database with no SD card or USB flash drive attached.
I also tried using Titanium Backup ★ root, but I got the exact same results as I did with MyBackup, so the problem isn't app specific. One thing that did work was not allowing root access to MyBackup. When that is denied, I can back up my device as many times as I want. However, since MyBackup has been denied root access, it can only back up the apps on my device, not the data that accompanies those apps. That's a problem because the main reason that I'm backing up my device is to back up the apps on my device AND its data.
I've been at this for three days. During that time, going through all of the steps that I've listed here has made the backup go through completely without rebooting once or twice, but the reboot problem persists more often than not. I’m out of ideas to try. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I finally figured out what the problem was. I mentioned in my first post that I used Titanium Backup and got the same results as I did with MyBackup Pro. However, when I used Titanium Backup, MyBackup Pro was still granted root privileges. I think when Titanium Backup got to the MyBackup Pro app to back it up, it activated something with the app that was causing it to reboot my tablet. In other words, what I did to fix my problem was I denied root privileges to MyBackup Pro and Titanium Backup now works fine and produces a successful backup everytime. So, MyBackup Pro was the problem.

I do use 4.0.3. However, rooting a device depends on the brand of the device. For example, the process to root a Google Nexus tablet might be different than the process to root a Samsung Galaxy tablet. What you should do is put your phone or tablet's brand into a Google search engine and then add "root" to the search query (Ex: "Google Nexus 7 root").
Hey all,
I just flashed the latest codename lungo to my htc one mini, its rooted and S is off
It came with a few apps i dont want (Apollo, Movie Studio, Torch etc)
And typically id just use titanium backup to get rid of them
This time around it "sucessfully" deleted them but they dont dissapear and are still useable, even after a reboot
I tried NoBloat Free and even read up on the forums to change SELinuxMode to Permissive without luck
Any clues to what im doing wrong would be great, thanks guys
EDIT: still unsure why it was doing that, but i just went into system\app and deleted the APK's, seemed to get rid of them
