Official JPM Rom with leaked JI6 Kernal? - Captivate General

Has any one tried this combo? I want to continue using the I9000 ROM, like I am right now using Eclair.

You are better off going with the Tatyutama Froyo Rom and the xcaliberhand kernel.

I want to keep the I9000 rom because it lets me keep my $30 medianet/unlimited sms.

Use Odin and flash back to stock.
The same thing happened to me. I fixed it by going back to stock and just flashing from the beginning.

Cynogenmod is not ready for prime time. IMO you should stay on 2.2.1 based Rom for a while. Anyway that's just my opinion, it's you who have to make choices between half cooked rom vs fully functional 2.2.1 based rom.

Which version of android are you running?

Just a poll to see what you guys are running, I want to see if most everyone has switched to gingerbread.
I'd actually be surprised if that was the case. I'd imagine most are holding out until there's a simpler way to flash it.
I havn't had time to flash a gingerbread ROM, it is a somewhat lengthy process.
I'm still on 5.12 seren

Firefly ATM. I go back and forth between froyo roms & CM7. Waiting for mikeymikes GB rom to be released & ill probably retire my flashing career there.
C4, then C5, back to C4 until C5 has a final release.
So, technically, it's 2.2.1, 2.3.3, 2.2.1

im with Modest Mandroid...its the only reason why i have flashed to GB. you always always read if you're not sure/dont know how/cant read/cant spell/cant count/cant follow instructions/feel uncomfortable and so on so forth then dont do it!
I believe i could do it, just dont wanna risk my only phone. The froyo ROMs are so simple to do and theres plenty to choose from so that will hold me over for now
Darky10 Rc5.3 Dark Core Voodoo.
Switched back from the Inspire just to rock gb on the Cappy for a bit.

Is MikeyMike working on a 2.3 based rom?
His roms are always the best, and I'd definitely hold out for his rom if one was in the works.
The one that works!
Caution swyping! Read at your own risk.
Continuum 5 b3. Ive flashed back to all kinds of froyo roms and i flashed sense from the i9000 just to test it out. Ive flashed jvb GB roms here and there and its really not that difficult at all.

That really comes down to a matter of opinion and they are all different. Flash a few to test out and see what you like best.

the one that you like the best is the best rom ...
I was wondering the same thing... is Gingerbread 2.3.4 T959VUVKG4 any good?
There's only little to choose from, so I suggest to just try out each one and see which one you like the best. ICBINB KH1 is probably the best. Beats me. Anyways, good luck!

a little to choose from? you serious?
it all comes down to personal preference.
All of the rom's are great. It would be easy for each of us to tell you, but what we say wouldn't be accurate to what you look for in a rom.
I have tried nearly all of them at this point, and am currently on ICBINB KH1.

Yes? Sure there's a couple GB ROM's, but it's all just different variations of TW. That's why I suggested to try all of them to see what's best for him.

If you're new to flashing, you should just consider a Froyo ROM (Bionix Frost, Black Ice, ICBINB, Audiophile, or just deodexed stock ROMs).
The GB ROMs are definitely better, but they're also quite a bit more difficult to flash.
KH2 deodexed. It works and it is faassssttt.... just CWM version of dr honk's kg4 kernel immediately afterwards to preserve CWM. I wasn't able to enable lagfix on previous builds but this one worked like a charm.

MIUI Source

There is now a MIUI open source!!!!
github.com/MiCode
I know this is great news! But what does that mean for us exactly?
Sent from my Rockin' Galaxy S 4G!
Is the hardest part of getting MIUI to work is getting our kernel go work with it?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Don't worry, we have devs working on kernel. Hypothetically, once the CM7 kernel works, MIUI shouldn't be a problem.
Whooooooooooooo!!!! Falls Out

Yep it's true, I posted about this a week ago....
I have been working with MiuiAnderson to figure out why the build process is not working for the sgs4g. I can build it for the i9000 with no problems...
You won't need a different kernel with this. It ports MIUI to your custom rom.
I will post another update when he gets back to me..
yeah... its been out for while i think... hopefully this will make it for a MIUI ROM on this phone too with official support and stuff
If there is anything I can do to help like test out Rome or something I will be glad to help I myself see me having this device for 2 years.

I think they're all jumping ship for R3velation. Everyone wants whats built on the latest and greatest stock. Poor Zeus...how quickly they abandon you.
