People been saying that we need more roms so i dipped in to my personal stash to post this rom.Its based on latest 10/15 AOSP Magic 0.4.1(which is with Epic Experience the fastest roms on here) rom kanged.Its themed with my own theme,all bloatware removed completely,and slimed to absolute barebones minimum of 96MB,with everything functional.A few stock apps been replaced with better ones like stock browser replaced with Dolphin HD.Both roms are really clean and light.
This barebones rom is meant for people that want really fast minimal rom so they can add their own apps to it.
Now,im also posting a second rom,this rom is what im rockin right now on my Epic.Second rom is 116 MB,its themed,themed apps and icons,alot of stock apps replaced with better ones,themed Swype,and more-too much to list,i also included themed Root Explorer in case you decide to remove or add apps.Both versions are really fast,light and have excellent battery life.
NOTE:Top statusbar is only transparent with lwp's(if anyone knows why let me know),pulldown statusbar is always transparent.
Both version were tested with Geniusdog254's latest kernel and should be compatible with any kernel.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1 Format System,Data and Cache in Clockwork.(i always wipe each 3 times,so there is no leftovers)
2 Flash rom in Clockwork.
NOTE:If you haven't already done so update to DI18 before flashing my rom.And always nanobackup first.

Thanx to bubby323 for blessing us with AOSP.
Screenshots:
NOTE:Screenshots look fuzzy and colors not right(and thats not how they look on epic),because i had to convert ShootMe png's to jpgs in order to post,if anyone knows how i can post better screenshots let me know,but the theme looks thousand times better on Epic.

HELP.If anyone smokes Newports and has a scanner,i need a high resolution scan of a Newport pack or a carton(better) to use for this theme's status bar.I used one of the web in this release but its low res and i had to blur it out because quality wasn't good.Any help is greatly appreciated.
Nice to see another rom and interest from others. I was ready to try this and then I realized all the icons are themed in green. Maybe a version without the green would be cool. Bubbas rom never work right for me. I was hoping this would have better results even though I know its based of Bubbas. Anyways good job!

Interesting ROM! You really went all out with theming the apps. I don't know if it's just the pictures or my computer screen, but the green in the theme looks a little too light/hazy. If it were darker and perhaps more solid it would look really sharp. And don't forget to put [ROM] in the thread title so you get more traffic
Can you please post the ROM without the green theme?
Would be excellent for me if in black. Nice job though

Nah you confusing the two roms,this is not based on Bubba's rom(which doesnt work good for me eather),its based on latest 10/15 bubby323 AOSP Magic Original rom-which is the fastest rom on here(well AOSP and Epic Expirience are both fast).Yeah,reason why its green cuz I made this for my personal use,but people wanted me to post it so I did.
One thing,screenshots didn't come out good,bacause I had to convert png's to jpeg,so they fuzzy and colors are not there,but believe me it looks a thousand times better on Epic.Theme has alota green but has blue in it also,if you want different colors just replace 2 res-framework files from any other rom,i have included Root Explorer in these roms for that purpose and it takes not even a minute to do so.

Thanks!
How the heck did you get your zip file so small? I extracted the 96mb ROM and the system directory is 169mb compared to my ROM's 160 and yet when zipped up your's is about 10mb smaller.
That doesn't make mathematical sense.

I always use 7zip to delete files and replace files.The trick is when you delete files dont do it one by one,hold ctr key and select all the files that you deleting and delete them all at once.Because if you do them one at a time recompression adds mb's.Same thing goes for adding files.Hope that helps.
Oh and with 7zip you can open rom file and apk file inside it,and mod apk files without even extracting them.
Why what you use WinRar?

7zip is better for everything,only advantage that Winrar has is that it extracts files faster and that's the only thing I use it for.As far as compressing files nothing beats 7zip and its free.

Ya 7zip is the best compressor, but I still like winrar for the fact that it is so damn simple lol. AlZip is another good one too.
This seems like an interesting ROM, I may try it out later today and I'll let you guys know what I think.
Tried this... the theming is nice but both voice search and default browser are taken out/broken. I can live with Dolphin HD.... seems like a nice browser. Voice search I use all the time and trying to install the apk results in constant force closes.

I really love the AOSP 1.6 ROMs, especially the great work of quietcblongs, but I also love the newer graphical bits from Eclair and Froyo. So, I'm jumping the gun and doing some of the updates myself (that's what quiet wanted, right? Give us a working AOSP ROM that we can cook into what we like... )
I've taken the Eclair icons (credit to user gomorrah on this thread for pulling the icons) and successfully added them to quiet's AOSP 1.6 ROM.
Credit also goes to gbhil for his instructions and tools for making a signed update.zip here.
I'm not expert enough to say that this wouldn't break any other ROM, though... so don't try unless you're brave, k?
So, click on this link to grab the zip file and flash it to your phone: http://rapidshare.com/files/342500349/EclairIcons_forAOSP1.6-signed.zip.html
(Here's a "mirror" on my Dropbox account: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1161808/EclairIcons_forAOSP1.6-signed.zip)
In case I'm not being clear enough on what this is here's a screenshot of most of the icons that have been replaced.
(I'm running an almost completely brand new AOSP 1.6... flashed about two hours ago heh.)

Yes, the easy way to do this is to use MeatMorph or one of the other theme-ing utilities.
Personally I just feel that's one more thing that could break *shrug*
Better to just replace the stuff than to rely on another utility.
I'm trying to get the new power control widget and app drawer / launcher pulled and placed into quiet's ROM. Wish me luk.

Thanks to gomorrah, you can download the icons (in their apk file structure) from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5467884&postcount=141
It should work fine if you want to replace the PNGs within each apk on your ROM.

I believe that's voice signal. Haven't thought about it much since flashing the AOSP ROM except to notice that there is one more icon up there lol.
That's correct, the "C" signal is your cell signal & the "EV" signal is your EVDO signal.

True, it's a good option. The thing for me is that I am taking quiet's AOSP ROM and treating it as a barebones. The more I find that I like and learn to do the more I'll customize it for myself. I just happen to want to share some of the bits and pieces

I feel like a total noob now that I made the jump to 1.6, but where are you finding the 2.0 theme for metamorph. I have located this page HERE but cant seem to locate the theme that you are referring to. A little point in the right direction would be much appreciated.
I have been a member since grabing the HD2 (US) and learned a lot from the developers here (I lurk and read). I have taken advantage of their knowledge and the the wiki, to which I thank everyone for all their work. Until recently I was always wanting to find a way to contribute back to the community and after getting the EVO, rooting, and messing around with some things I thought I would share the bootanimation I have been working on.
It is my very first one, so go easy, but I hope you enjoy. It is a little lengthy and the fps bogs down a little but I always wanted this to be my boot image. As usual, you assume all responsibility for any damage you do to your phone. If you need help, search, or shoot me a PM and I will be happy to answer questions when and where I can.
If you do happen to like my animation, awesome! I will take requests if anyone is interested and within the scope of my free time.
If you do not like my work, your entitled to your opinion, all I ask is for constructive criticism.
Hope you all enjoy!

Here is a flashable zip. Just place on root of sd. Boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik. Then just flash like you would a rom. This has the sound included so you need to be on a sense rom in order to flash this because aosp roms don't have sound for the animation and the boot animation is located in a different place on a aosp rom.

Tiffany84 has come through again making a zip install from recovery for aosp roms, you can pick up this zip from the quote below:

This is a flashable zip of the bootanimation. This is for aosp roms only. This doesn't have the sound because I don't think it's possible to have sound for the bootanimation on a aosp rom. If your on a sense rom I have also uploaded a flashable version for sense roms that has the sound included. It's on page 3.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
If anyone has questions, feel free to ask
UPDATE 2:
Recently optomized the animation, original recipe, smaller file size for the new year's diet. Also tweaked the sound and its damn near perfect. The new animation seems to run a little smoother and quicker, but that could just be me.
*These are not flashable via recovery, you must use adb or copy them to your sdcard and move them to the proper system file directory. The flashable versions created by Tiffany84 are the previous version.
**User roscoenr has just uploaded flashable zips from recovery for either type of rom. You can find those on page 8 for anyone interested. Thanks for the help roscoenr!
Enjoy!

i will rock it when rls5 is dropped 2nite!
Great animation, good choice in using the World at War setting. I'll try it out once I get home.
Much appreciated.
THIS IS HOT!!!! I'm loving this. Will be flashing tonight!
Ive only tested this on my EVO so far. The HD2 is waiting for a new digitzer, I broked it.
If anyone tries this out without the audio let me know how the performance of the animation is, please and thanks.

Did you use an app for it or do the film effect by hand? I've been wanting to do something similar to that but I don't have the time to do it manually.

Basically I took the originally title screen movie for Call of Duty World at War and used it as a background template. Most of the film affects are from that video, the android logo's and text were screened in by hand with photoshop with the exception of a few orginal frames I had to throw in for consistency. The pain was when I output the frames to png format I had to change all the pictures file numbers by hand to get them in order, not once, or twice, but 6 times because of trial and error. I swear I can type adb commands in my sleep now as well lol.
Typing the correct numbering "animation_00001, animation_00002" and so on is a pain lol Looking forward to the need for speed challenge now
I have created an HD video of how it would look like on the phone. The Audio Might Slightly Be More Off Than It Should.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQHaHnQJmCs
Edit: Rebooted my phone and found out I did the audio wrong.
This is awesome.. Tried both with and without sound and it's sweet either way.. Prob gonna stay with the sound for now...

ok, noob questions. Is this flashable, if not how do I install it cause I'm loving it and want it BAD. Excellent work dude.
Been trying to flash this but I keep getting this message in recovery while trying to flash it "can't find update script". Anyone have any idea on this?
This is a port of a port. All credit for creativity goes to edint3000 for the theme and Bigloof for the original port to the Fascinate and some of the images used.
The original theme can be found here.
The Fascinate port can be found here.
Give them a check and some thanks for all of their hard work if you get a chance. When I saw this, I really thought some of you guys would like it so I got to work moving some png's and doing a few xml changes. This is what I came up with.

Looks awesome. I'll give this a go tonight. Thanks as always!
Thanks phidelt!
Quick question for you, I really love the carbon fiberesque look of the slide down from the Dark Gloss theme, but I really like everything else about this Midnight theme, would that be as simple as an edit to a .png (or a swap)? (The way it's animated I would think the buttons at the top and the actual notification slider part would be separate images and could possibly be swapped from theme to theme, but I know nothing .)

There's a few things involved with it. I really like the carbon fiber drops also. Once things die down and we get this 2.2 up and running I'm going to build my own theme and that is one of the features that it will have. As far as swapping out one drop down for another, I haven't done it, but I'm sure it is pretty easy. There may be a few .9 files that will have to be taken in to consideration but that should be the worst of it.
Awesome, sounds good man! Thanks for the response!
looks and works Great on the Showcase
of course I had to tweak the notification bar

That will be in v1.1 as soon as I can get to it. I tried to get it going in v1.0, but it wasn't as easy as moving the png files like normal. That's why I used the port instead of the original. I might be getting a break from this project I'm working on now, so that might be something I can work on in my spare time.
Not a big deal just gives me something to look forward to on some new themes. If that project is froyo then you just keep plugging away and ignore the rest of us!

This is what it looks like if you apply the puzzle lock standalone after the theme (I need to make a small edit, for some reason they black out the top half of the lock in the port I did, so I will be changing that when I get time - I plan on trying to edit out the puzzle pattern to a honeycomb pattern, then possibly changing the circle lock to fit the honeycomb pattern but I may not be able to so we will see);

The SMS app has a small tweak still needing to be made, when you search for a contact it is black on black text and so you can't read it until you press on it, so if you don't want to use the sms app, just pull that .apk file out of the .zip before you flash it.
You need to be on pnp before flashing this, and to see the boot animation you have to be using the EA11 voodoo kernel.
I also suggest using the free honeycomb ADW theme available on the market, it's a nice compliment. I will update soon as I get time to theme some more apps.
Here is the download, make sure you disable lag fix before flashing (can be re-enabled after of course)

I grabbed mine off of the Zedge app, if you have trouble finding it I can try to pull it off later and upload.

Of course not bro, go for it .
Besides turning off voodoo, do you have to wipe dalvic?

Never hurts anything. Might as well to be safe.

Wiping dalvik is just a failsafe method, typically anymore you don't have to even take that step but it is recommended. (just to make sure there are no issues)
Awesome. Thanks. Keep up the great work
Love this thanks! Looking forward to the fixes!

In reference to the sms app, you do mean the mms.apk in the zip file correct?

Yeah, sorry mms.apk
No worries, the only reason I asked is because I flashed back to DarkFroyo, then deleted the mms.apk from the HoneyFroyo zip, then reflashed honey and the text dropdown issue still exists.
Gr8 job!!! Works awesome on EC10

So to kill time I figured I'd try my luck with the UOT kitchen and add battery % to the stock battery icon in the status bar. It works!
I have the 4.0.0.9 recovery from Modaco and I also installed Paul's de-odexed version of the stock ROM. Several users have now confirmed that it works fine on the 100% stock rooted ROM without any problems.
Here's an example of what it looks like:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Here's exactly what I did to install:
1. Download file
2. Reboot into Recovery
3. Clear cache/dalvik
4. Install zip from sd card
5. Select BatteryPercentage.zip
6. Wait for install to complete
7. Reboot device, it may take a little longer...
And here's the file:
http://www.multiupload.com/EHS4XDF43J
I also added battery % to the debloated ROM undeadk9 posted in the dev section. It looks just like the battery % posted above. Here's the link:

I created a new theme in UOT kitchen that's b&w much like the theme pmcqueen created but a little simpler, with battery %, status bar mods, and pop-up window/slider bar mods. I left off flying window animations because I wanted to keep this a bit more stockish; also, I kept getting errors trying to flash pmcqueen's theme so I made my own...
pics:
Here's the file link for the theme!

P.S. I suppose it goes without saying that you need to be rooted...
Thanks what accounts for the size of this modification? is an active element that draws battery power?

I'm not sure. There are 100 images for battery and several images for charging. Then there's installation scripts and what not and Framework mods. I couldn't say it draws power but there's obviously some sort of constant communication (as there was before, too.) My battery life hasn't been affected at all today, so I'm not worried about it.

all this mod does is give you a modified systemui.apk and framework-res.apk and packages them into an installable zip that replaces the apks already on your phone.
if you open up the zip, you'll find systemui.apk and frameworkres.apk (which have been modified by the UOT kitchen), which is why the zip is 4.x MB. it's replacing entire apks, not just the battery images themselves.
gracias! I uploaded the systemUI and framework apks into the UOT kitchen and it must have rewritten them with the modified images and voila!
Very happy progress - not having battery % as a number up in my status bar is a pain in the ass.
Glad someone is dumping time into this, it was on my list but all the other work i'm doing with this phone has been keeping me from it.
I'm not running the de-odexed ROM, so i'm gonna hold off on this at the moment, but i'm (again) very happy to see someone working on this. (unless you think it'll work on the stock rom?)
Thank ya. no problems. Glad to have this.

should work just fine. backup just to make sure, but I don't think it will be an issue.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! - Wish i'd seen that when you posted it, or I would have installed this a long time ago.
I couldn't resist, it only took a few hours after I downloaded before I couldn't hold off any longer.
Fantastic work, no-nonsense exactly what I wanted. Shows me the numerical percentage of battery capacity inside my battery icon on the status bar. Still shows the lightning bolt when charging.
Numerical display is accurate compared to all the apps I that I had on the phone that told me this, and now I dropped a widget from one of my desktops that was hanging around just to show me the percentage as a number - something I couldn't find anywhere else on the phone. (WTF HTC)
So I can now confirm this will work on stock/rooted ROM, no issues. Thanks unclespoon!
You're welcome! It was a fun learning experience for me, too. The UOT kitchen has always felt a little overwhelming to me, but now I feel much more comfortable with how it works and am more willing to play around with stuff! I'd do more, but for now battery % was all I really wanted.

Hahaha you're welcome! Also, I updated the OP with a new, more inclusive pic along with information that it has been confirmed to work 100% A-OK with the stock ROM!
tried it with stock rom and it works, thanks. Unrelatd question, how much space did you save by going with paul's stock deoxed rom? I have uninstalled a lot (majority) of things using Titanium explroer, but am simply too lazy to go back for the odexs.
Thanks
Now the onlyh thing left to do is find a way to remove recent and the t-mobile sign.

Thanks! I made another one that's all b&w with overscroll, highlights, and a few other things. I kept it pretty simple though to just keep it stock-ish with a black & white theme. I can upload pics if you want but it's pretty similar to the one pmcqueen posted, but for some reason his didn't flash correctly on mine so I made my own.
Here's the file:
http://www.multiupload.com/OYNRILJMYR
Flashing is the same as the OP link. This just has more stuff and is monochromatic. I like it! It's fun to keep changing things up!
