Tap and pinch to zoom. - Captivate General

is there a fix for tap and pinch to zoom on cog 2.2?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App

What's the problem with it now?

Double tap does not zoom or it doesn't realign the paragraph to fit the page and when I take 2 fingers to zoom it reverts back.

I'm not on Cog yet but I've seen this issue in the browser for some sites... is it a consistent behavior with Cog?

Are you talking about the browser? I'm on Cog v2.2. b6. In the browser settings, put a check mark on Auto-fit pages.
I double-tap on an article and it zooms in plus it auto-fits it in the window. I double-tap again and it zooms out. I never had any luck with pinch-to-zoom=to-fit. On my friend's HTC Incredible, it auto-fits when you pinch to zoom. But it doesn't do that, and has never done that (with me) on my Cap (stock JF6, JH7, Leaked Froyo, or Cog ROMS).

Thanks Rex,
That did the trick . I was beating my head to the wall and should have known. Thanks for driving the yellow bus

in google maps take two fingers and swipe down, the maps will show you a profile view and you can see buildings in 3d in cities etc
I can't get 3d maps in google maps even when I swipe fun with two fingers
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
When taking two fingers and sliding down the angle of the camera should change. Zoom all the way on the spot you wanna see. If they don't load that means that area doesn't have 3D buildings.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Try going somewhere like L.a Or San Fransisco in Google maps. Then zoom in kinda close. close enough so that you see some 3d ish squares. Then with 2 fingers swipe down and it should show you 3d version of map. Make sure you have the latest Google map downloaded. Search Google maps in market just in case

Gingerbread scrolling slingshot effect?

Compared to froyo, the scrolling in browser jas a slingshot effect which gets annoying. Is there any way to disable this?

That's what I thought he mentioned. Why would you not want the fling?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Because it always happens on accident then it just flies to the bottom of the page and i have to carefully find my way back up again.
I dunno, maybe the orange tint that you see when you try to overscroll?
or the ability to drag a website off the screen and it snap back? I dunno.

What I'm talking about is when you scroll the page, then swipe the screen again before it stops moving, the page will suddenly scroll extremely fast.
On froyl the scroll speed doesn't do this, and I'm wondering if its possible to change this effect.

I noticed this too. If you scroll just a hair too fast it will fling to the bottom of the page.

Yea and its so sensitive that lifting your finger off the screen will move the page

yes i have noticed it seems like they went from extremely slow scrolling now to extremely fast. a bit annoying
Im having it hapen too.plus the reboot screan takes longer to load....weird...why is it slingshotting
Anny reason this is happening.....can anyone, help,is this normal
I like the fast scrolling. It was to slow on Froyo. Don't worry, you will get used to the scroll speed. Those of you who don't like it, try using different web browsers. They all scroll differently.
That's odd. I found this thread when searching for SLOW scrolling since the Gingerbread update. Particularly on the All Apps page - somebody mentioned this is a feature called scrolling. I wonder is it possible to turn off?
Re the browser - I don't see this "slingshot" effect you mention. Could it be device dependent? I have a Desire HD.
thanks

Just use adw. You can make the drawer fling or not.

This is really starting to piss me off. I can't scroll through a webpage without the page flying up down left or right. Even the act of lifting my finger from the screen will make the page fly in some direction.

I'm having the same issue and its not the app drawer that's a problem its the actual web page and I have tried all browsers with the same issue.. this is truly annoying
Did anyone find a solution for this? I found this thread through search, I get the same problem on my Desire with a AOSP rom. Most browsers seem to have the problem (Dolphin, Miren, stock, Maxthon).

zooom problem

Hi, i want to zoom in and zoom out on web pages like galaxy and other cells with two fingures movement, but it is not working in lg, how can i do this?
thx
No, that's only for the TouchWiz 4 browser. And that's tied down to the TW UI.
So it would be impossible to port it over.

Your multitouch isn't working? That is weird.

Galaxy S4 browser?!?!

As Samsung continues its apparent march towards closed source am I the only one surprised at how bad Galaxy S4 browser is? It is slow, unresponsive at times, has no real fullscreen option and quick settings have been removed. It also has no ability to sync with Google accounts. Am i the only seeing this?
It has its perks on Some things then there's other stuff like you mentioned that doesn't make it good. I usually use chrome but I'm just trying to find another alternative that has flash options besides xscope and firefox. I really love dolphin browser but can't figure out how to run the flash option for it.

I agree with you, that's the browser I'm using a well. It just seems that Samsung took a huge step backwards with the GS4 browser when compared to the GS3.

I would love to run that browser but still stock at the moment in case anything happens to my phone I wouldn't have to hassle with reverting it back to stock but I'm on MF3 also so I can't root.

It does suck. I use Chrome. I wish the air view features worked with chrome tho

+5 it isn't as good as the previous Samsung browsers. No Google bookmarks sync and what I really don't like is how slow switching tab is.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
my button to view open tabs seems to go unresponsive occasionally. someone please tell me I am doing it wrong.
It sucks badly. The browser from the note2 works on it but the bookmarks tab crashes every now and Then.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
It seemed OK at first but the more I use it the more awful it seems.
It can't reflow text so you have either zoom out and read tiny text (the text size option helps a bit but not as good as reflow) or zoom in then scroll sideways back and forth. The f-ing SGS1 had this!
The window manager (ie. tab selector) thing takes forever to come up. Does anyone else have it refuse to come up at all? (sixftsix apparently) That happens to me about once a week.
GS4 Stock browser is chrome based... which is not updated sloppy old chrome plus some airview/multiwindow support.

I agree the browser does suck. I recently started using Lightning Browser and it is really fast compared to the stock one. I even got flash enabled although it isn't the best.
I downloaded Lightning Browser here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=acr.browser.barebones
I downloaded flash from here (uploaded by ashik992):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1936895&d=1367734159
You do have to access the settings menu and enable flash after you install it.
I've only been using it about two days but I'm considering purchasing the paid version.
If you guys give it a shot let me know what you think.

[REQ] Slide Aside ported from LG G2

Hello guys! View the Slide Aside on LG G2 is really very useful in practice allows the user to always have 3 apps in the background and recall them when they want to .... innovative application! LG Brava! Who knows if some svliluppatore is able to carry them on our beloved S4
It is an awesome feature, but I think it would even better if someone found a way to activate it with only one finger. 3 fingers makes you use the phone with both hands.

I use GMD Gesturecontrol, it has practically endless customisation options to make a gesture just like this or anything else. LG just stole one of the many abilities of this app.

They say a picture says more than a thousand words.
Custom gestures. A swipe to the left from the bottom of the right side takes me back to the previous app. Vice versa on the bottom left side. Swiping up from the bottom of the screen equals a push of the home button (I hate that physical button). Finally swiping left along the bottom of the screen brings up the multitasking menu.
wow. this gmd app is so awesome, i just bought it. you know with s4, it's annoying to open recent tasks by holding the home button, and the back button placement on the right is annoying too since i always use my phone left handed.
now with this custom gesture, i can swipe up from the bottom center to open recent tasks, and swipe right from left center of the screen to simulate back button and its really nice, it feels like you're swiping a page to go back.
I'm an ex nexus 4 user, I hate hardware keys. So I add this line to the build prop qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 and it adds the nav bar like this
But it only works on aosp and i9505g ROMs. Don't do it on a touchwiz ROM as Samsung ripped the code out and all it will do is cause a fc of the sytemUI.apk but thought it might help as you always have recents avalible without effecting any app that uses the gestures you set it as.
