That's what I thought he mentioned. Why would you not want the fling?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App

Because it always happens on accident then it just flies to the bottom of the page and i have to carefully find my way back up again.

I dunno, maybe the orange tint that you see when you try to overscroll?
or the ability to drag a website off the screen and it snap back? I dunno.

What I'm talking about is when you scroll the page, then swipe the screen again before it stops moving, the page will suddenly scroll extremely fast.
On froyl the scroll speed doesn't do this, and I'm wondering if its possible to change this effect.

I noticed this too. If you scroll just a hair too fast it will fling to the bottom of the page.

yes i have noticed it seems like they went from extremely slow scrolling now to extremely fast. a bit annoying

Im having it hapen too.plus the reboot screan takes longer to load....weird...why is it slingshotting

Anny reason this is happening.....can anyone, help,is this normal

I like the fast scrolling. It was to slow on Froyo. Don't worry, you will get used to the scroll speed. Those of you who don't like it, try using different web browsers. They all scroll differently.

That's odd. I found this thread when searching for SLOW scrolling since the Gingerbread update. Particularly on the All Apps page - somebody mentioned this is a feature called scrolling. I wonder is it possible to turn off?
Re the browser - I don't see this "slingshot" effect you mention. Could it be device dependent? I have a Desire HD.
thanks

Just use adw. You can make the drawer fling or not.

This is really starting to piss me off. I can't scroll through a webpage without the page flying up down left or right. Even the act of lifting my finger from the screen will make the page fly in some direction.

I'm having the same issue and its not the app drawer that's a problem its the actual web page and I have tried all browsers with the same issue.. this is truly annoying

Did anyone find a solution for this? I found this thread through search, I get the same problem on my Desire with a AOSP rom. Most browsers seem to have the problem (Dolphin, Miren, stock, Maxthon).

I need an app/hack that jumps to "leap view" w/ 1 tap of home.

Id love to see how it feels to instantly "leap" w/ one hit of the home button.
Dont know if this can be dont w/out Root. Hopefully, one of us knows of an app that can do it already. Or maybe someone can code/hack it.
Maybe I should drop this in Dev department? Maybe I should just hit up all the forms?
Thanks a googolplex in advance,

yeah. so instead of one tap of home then swipe, or two tap of home then pick, its just one tap home and pick. I think that how macs do it now a days with expose, right?
If mines already on the home screen it only takes one tap....why 1 instead of 2? Your THAT lazy you want someone to design an apk that edits the amount of taps required?

1. Didn't ask for someone to come along and state the obvious.
2. Because 1 is less then 2.
3. Yes, yes I am. especially since that cuts my taps down by 50%.
Seriously, i find it hella annoying that i have to go to the main home screen before i can go to the on that i want. just reverse the order. make one tap go to leap view, and two taps go to main home. I see mac users doing this all the time with expose, and it looks awesome.
It's shouldn't be hard. Just look in leap. Should be able to switch. Lemme go look and see what I can do for you.
What about if you actually want to end on the homepage? If it changed I would believe that would require two taps now instead of the one, its kinda of a toss up.
I wish we could press and hold the menu button to bring up the app drawer. Having android so long I am not used to hitting the bottom left for the Apps but having used DxTop I did get accustom to pressing and holding menu to bring up the Apps

There is a new launcher in the market right now that im using it works great.it called launcherpro.
I would install "home switcher"also in the market. That way while you are setting up your new layout you can go back and fourth. Without being interrupted by that a default prompt.
Launcher pro has single tap of home button that brings up the leap view, and it also has pinch to leap. With added gesture of dialer, contacts, internet, and messages at the bottom of every page.
Also it has a app launcher similar to the N1. Without the 3d cube effect.
Very responsive worth a try, only downfall is none of the htc widgets work while using this launcher. Bc their widgets are tired in to it.
I use the flip clock from the market, its customizable.and dolphin hd with their bookmarks widget and the friendstream app , that way it still has a sense feel to it.

Works well for me- it still has HTC Sense loaded in the background, which I'm sure if you turned it off would make it run even faster... but it works nonetheless.
I've been using it for two weeks no lag. Rosie is nice for awhile but the widgets are just too big. Plus I get bored quick, and having their widgets on my old eris for six months was enough for me.

[Q] Launcher carousel lag

Is it just me or is really hard getting the carousel to work. Everytime I try messing around my phone to get the carousel effect I end up selecting something. For the life of me I just cant get the dam carousel effect. Anyone else having this issue?
I don't own it yet, but on all 4 of the sensation's i've had my hands on i thought it was pretty simple. In only two swipes you should be able to get that thing spinning. Oddly enough, I don't really know it adds any real functionality but it does look cool. Are you experiencing any other oddities with your touchscreen or is that it? Just to make sure that it works try swiping across two blank screens and see if you can do it. Two quick little swipes is all it takes.

Having a 2 blank screens may help as I have widgets on all my screens although I shouldnt have any issues to begin with. I have notice in a few evo 3d reviews on youtube that its a lot more fluent and talking about touch response ive notice that sometimes I have to press the power button to be able to select some widgets or icon shortcuts I have on my home screens. Im not liking this at all.

I saw those EVO 3D comparison videos too and was a little shocked. The reason I was shocked is because the sensations that I tried out didn't have any of that lag in the videos. I've also read about some people here saying they have homescreen lag, and others that don't. Have you tried a factory reset? I should have mentioned the devices I tried had all 7 screen loaded with junk, and I was still able to spin the carousel with two swipes.

Mine is really smooth. It stutters once in awhile, but it's no big deal.

There may be a way to speed it up but I am not sure. Even if it could be it will lose the animation as it will just dissappear instead of sliding up. It is plenty fast as far as I am concerned but I will look
I agree with this idea.
The scroll-up speed is slow for me. I just want to quick disappear the window, normally it takes a while until scrolls up. Yes,it is fast as your finger, but only if you are sliding whole stroke, what is on the GNote sometimes a big deal. I just swipe my finger cca 2cm or touch only the bottom bar and it is then quite lazy(even smooth).
...and don't mention iPhone please. We bought Android, because it is Android, not an iOs!
Unsure about this, but if you're willing to you could always just drag the notification shade up a hair and then use another finger to hold on the status bar, then let go of the shade to have it jump to the status bar.
Swiping up with more speed also speeds it up.
"Unsure about this, but if you're willing to you could always just drag the notification shade up a hair and then use another finger to hold on the status bar, then let go of the shade to have it jump to the status bar."
That's awesome I didnt Know it did that
Can the reason it is laggy becasue their are too many apps open? This constantly happens to me as well.

[Q] What will ICS do for the browser?

I have a xoom & some websites i go to like as far the scrolling & page rendering is horrific. My friend who has a dang ipad comes along & loads & scrolls through the same pages on his ipad with ease. Will ICS do anything for the browser?
Maybe any links to what the browser is capable of in ICS?

Pretty much this. I have noticed a big difference in page rendering on ICS. I won't go as far as to say it's revolutionary because I don't think HC was that bad, but it is definitely improved.
Some pages, like XDA forums, are particularly bad in the honeycomb browser. No such issue on ICS browser. This page renders and scrolls smoothly, just like many other.
Thanks for the replies. I just picked up the Asus Transformer Prime & the keyboard dock. I'm looking forward to ICS on this baby.

One major difference is the iPad is not loading the Adobe Flash content/ads. XDA is extremely bad because of all the ads it has embedded. My suggestion is (if your not using my ROM) is to get an ad blocker, pages will load much faster.

The only other browser that I've used on ICS is the new Firefox. Firefox isn't as snappy as the ICS browser but doesn't seem to have the issues with links not opening. I'm also not a huge fan of the Firefox UI, so I tend to use the stock browser most of the time.
I find that setiing plug ins to "on demand" makes a big difference, the browser isn't trying to load all the flash stuff then. Mine is now pass able, still not as smooth as the ipad or ie9 in wp7 but I do have flash available which mostly makes up for the laggy performance.
definatly alot smoother.

I have a copy and paste app that just takes a long press to activate. Clip It works really well. There are quite a few free apps that do this...they are just resident and are available when you need them.
The long press can do wonders in android...many possibilities.

I get what you mean. I've tried CM9 before and I get that same experience when flicking pages up and down...it felt kinda heavy and not smooth. That's why I reverted back to HyperNonSense in order to enjoy this smooth flicking experience. However some claim that by putting these parameters into the /system/build.prop of CM9 and reboot helps:
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=240
ro.min.fling_velocity=8000
to.max.fling_velocity=12000
You may wanna give it a shot and see if that helps.
