I know the question,"What is the best rim available?" is used a lot and kind of annoying.
What i want to ask is what rom fits my needs .
What is need is:
- Good battery life
- Speedy without overclocking
- SprintTV app
- Stock or nice UI
- Working Camera/VideoCamera/GPS/WiFi
- At least 2.1 Would Love 2.2
I will appreciate all recommendations and thanks for taking the time to read my thread.
Aside from the SprintTV app, I'm enjoying the AOSP Froyo rom. I'm running it with BrainFuncts kernel, Collin's battery tweak and A2SD she runs like butta!
How is your battery life?
What's more annoying is that you posted this in the wrong section :/
Consider Nfinite's stock ROM. It has an overclocked but undervolted kernel, so you get all of the speed but none of the battery drain.
Another thing to think about if you want to have a theme you need to make sure the rom you use has a theme u can use on it. Also, using autokiller would help your battery life some. If u want sprint Apps with froyo based rom u will gave to wait on better version of wildfire or pancake. I don't know if u can download the apps for them and run on cm6, don't really care for sprint apps so I haven't looked into it.
Froyo.... my hero's dirty little secret.
I get great battery life. You can customize Collin's battery tweak until you find that good balance of performance and battery life
Great battery life using cm6 and running auto killer with this theme by Impaler

I've got the same setup minus the A2SD (I use Froyo to move apps to the SD card). I also flashed a theme available in the aosp thread fro PMDColeslaw.
I've got Sprint VVM, Sprint Football, Sprint Navigation, and Sprint TV working on mine.
Battery life has been pretty good (much better than stock). I've been extremely lucky (knock on wood) compared to a lot of people on here, I really haven't had any problems to speak of. I've had a few FC's here and there but my gallery, camera, gps, mms, all work.
Not to mention that my phone is so much faster than when I first got it, thanks to AOSP (for the ROM) and Decad3nce (for his kernels).
Good luck jvz.
Thanks for the help guys. I dont have time today, but most likely tomorrow ill go with AOSP Froyo.

Hi,
I just received my XDA and I am already seeking for a rom on WM6
Which rom did you think the most stable on WM6 for a XDA exec?
Which rom are you using and why?
Where this rom can be found?
Thank you very much.

its a matter of choice
I was using Helmi's 1.1 from the start
not sure who's r60 50 6n tbh, but im on ROM: 2.02.00....
seems to me to be the best so far. never have to reset, never have any memory leaks etc. seems to be as fast as it needs, even after i install all of my usual apps for the device, i dont, however use any extra items on my today screen, i just have date, owner, message inbox, calender and device lock, so its going to be fast anyway.
for me this is the best rom.
I've found that for my needs, the Jwrightmscp ROMs are the best. I have much the same setup as joey jojo, minimal today usage and pretty minimal install, but it's fast. I do have a couple of glitches with it, but think that's more from dodgy program installs, need to do a hard reset I think.
I would certainly say one of Jwrights, but it is pretty user dependant. Also, must take into consideration your Radio version, it willl make a huge impact on the performance of your device re. stability and functionality.
Good hunting.

thinking back, i think thats the one im on, ive just upgraded the radio to 1.15 so ill see if this makes any performance differences.
the only problems i have ever experienced with any rom is lack of signal strength, but i only have this issue at home, so ill just put that down as a local operator coverage problem. (my operator sucks for coverage)
do not install any of them if you are not ready to experiment...nither of them does not have video call (so front camera has become useless),and there are anough bugs to challenge you..
The perfect ROM is clear ROM....WM5 is clear ROM (everything here is just variations of it).So if you do not want to experiment...stay on WM5....
Right now I am using Laurentuis "Vanilla" and it looks like this

It's real Eye Candy. I've tried many builds already, and this is surely one of the most, if not THE better looking rom I've tried. It's also very stable, at least for me. I have absolutely NO force closes, shutdowns or random reboots at all. The cons are the battery consumption seems high, at least to me, and under Wi-Fi, when the apps are updating and the widgets refreshing, especially the if your contact list has hundreds of facebook contacts like mine does, then it can become real laggy while the updates are going on. On the other hand, without the updating process going on is incredibly smooth and doesn't lag at all, not even a little bit. So far I'm very satisfied overall.

I had been asked to share a recent battery mod/theme that I made for another member, as he thought others may be interested as well. Some of you may already know of my other works, but this battery is fairly new. I started from scratch and built my own templates and the result is the smoothest batter I've ever made. This version's color was inspired from the original C battery, in that it changes from blue to green, yellow, orange, then red. But it does so gradually...each image is a different color. Looks great
I mention theme earlier because I also changed a few other things, mostly in the status bar, to a blue color. Primarily the signal strengths, but a few others too like the progress bar for one.
Anyway, here's the file, just flash in recovery**THIS IS FOR CM7-RC2**
CM7rc2-EVO-SmoothC-signed.zip
Also thought I make this up for the evo as well while I was at it.....This is for those who like the stock look. I call it a Better Gingerbread Battery, lol. It very closely resembles the stock battery, but has percentage as well as enhanced charging animation. Also in this zip is a green progress bar (for volume, browser, etc).
And I actually have a couple shots of this battery:

Gosh I forgot all about this thread. While I can't say for sure that they don't since I've never tried, but I'd highly doubt they would. I'll make it up right quick for the latest stable release.
OK, here is the above pictured, Better Battery built on the CM 7.0.2.1 release for supersonic Just flash in recovery.

Also made up my smoothC battery for 7.0.2.1
CM7.0.2.1-EVO-smoothC.zip
This is what smothC looks like, albeit a bit better on the device
Please remember that the themes in the theme chooser will have an adverse affect on my battery mods since their themed battery is pushed on top. If you do want to experiment with those themes, I've removed the batteries in the stock themes below so they will no longer interfere with my battery mods. Each app is packaged separately as well as both together

holy bump..i know
i wanted to ask if this will work on CM 7.1.0 on the evo, or if there is a newer version.
thanks.
I don't know what's with my phone, but its either a bit zippy or laggish (so laggish that even Go Launcher has to reload all apps in drawer and widgets in home).
This is what I've done:
ROM: Humble 4.2.2
V6 Tweaks
- Option 9 (1000)
- Option 13 (Launcher + Bulletproof)
- Kernalizer Tweak
- Loopy's Smooth Tweak
- Tegrak OC software (1.3GHz / Performance)
I still get 1000 quadrant or I'll get about 2300 quadrant.
My phone still is not zippy at all. Any ideas?
Install Imoseyon's repacked kernel and enable Voodoo with the Voodoo Control app. If that doesn't help then get off of Humble and move to Gummy or Infinity.

I laughed so hard I choked on my drink. Thank you for that.
@OP: I don't really know what to tell you. I've tried numerous ROMs and configurations and tweaks. I'd consider myself a power user. And yet, every Gingerbread-based ROM I've used has ever-increasing lag issues. I have no problems at all with Froyo-based ones, and I haven't figured out why just yet.
At this point, I'm getting close to just getting a Galaxy Nexus so I'm just trying to hold out...
For me Humble 4.22 with V6 is pretty damned fast. Scrolling in the web browser is rather nice now.
You could try the fugu tweak mod. Might help a little, it did for me.
Here is the kernel [voodoo] http://rootzwiki.com/topic/3426-kernel-gb-imoseyon-kernel-stock-repacked-v310-101111/
I use V6 supercharger with only one option. Hard to kill.
Loopy tweaks. Remember if you use a different launcher you have to edit loopy to work with your new launcher.
And of course I use Fugu, its on my signature.
AND DONT FORGET TO ENABLE SMARTASS! After you flash the kernel open up terminal emulator and type in "su" allow it. Then type in "smartass enable." Your phone will be beast once you do all this.
I'd bet its cuz ur using the 1000 hp setting on v6 supercharger.the Charge doesn't have enough ram for that so its always reloading programs that want to run all the time plus the app ur using right then. The highest I've been able to use without lag is the 768. But overall elthe 512 super is best for me. Also try tegrak overclock. Btw I'm running humble 5 but had same settings in humble 4.22

lol, i guess. Summer Break is coming so hopefully I can use the extra time and bring a few more ROMs over. Atleast until I get a One X
P.S. Expect a new port in the next 2 days or so
You do a lot of stuff like this, and I really appreciate being able to try new things! It keeps my old aria looking fresh every once in a while. Because of new ROMs I don't end up dumping cash on a new phone!
I am not trying to seem rude, but I'd like to know more about this ROM before I try it. From the description you posted, it seems like a skinned CM port. What else is there?

It's pretty much CM7 with a great notification widget system, data meter, and a nice-looking launcher and replacement settings, music, and most other core apps. It's fantastic coming from CM7 or FroYo, but from CM9, it's just alright.
im gonna try it, doing a nand right now, gonna flash it in a few. i will post status tomorrow.
installed, pretty cool so far. I like the layouts for the menus and the launcher is incredibly smooth with no tweaking. Looks pretty like MiUi too. A few translation errors and some apps appear to be entirely in chinese.
SD manager force closes. And what he said above...
