Just finished up my first boot animation, which is based on my latest Android wallpaper. Should fit nicely on any 480x800 device.
Tried to keep file sizes small without sacrificing too much quality. Seemed like the animation would lag a bit before I compressed them a bit further. Perhaps I'll try some more settings to achieve higher quality.

Looks nice!! Just downloaded it, will probably flash it tonight. Gonna try to spend some time this evening flashing some more ROMs, boot animations, fonts, etc.. Gotta get permission from wifey first
neat stuff man, nice job.
any way to make the light slowly pulse a couple times since many times the phone may sit at the boot animation for a while.
or too long of an animation will slow the boot down as it waits for the animation to finish?

I could, but, like somebody else mentioned, it might boot before the animation is even able to finish.

You could make a few images flashing after what you have already and put them in a second part and set it to loop until boot.
How might I do that?
Sent from my Evo 4G using Tapatalk Pro.
Just looked at your file and part 1 is already set to loop. The pics you put in there should loop until the boot is complete. There's only 1 pic in there now.....so you can't tell.
I see. Well I will have to modify it a bit.

If you haven't already, don't delete the original boot......just add ".bak" to the end of it.....so you can always revert back to the original, if need be.

Will this replace the Sprint 4G bootup screen?
How do I install it?
Thanks
Yes. You need to have root access. And then you replace the bootanimation.zip file within system/media/. There are tutorials all over the web on how to do it.

Wanted to spice up my DX today so I mad my own custom boot animation. I used my avatar for the one I'm using but decided to do some alternates. Here is a Green spinning android version. I will add other colors as well.

Here is a youtube video of the bootup. Please forgive the crappy video. Will make a better one soon.
MUST BE ROOTED
The easiest way to install this is to use Root Explorer. Download the file and rename to bootanimation.zip. Copy the file and navigate to system/media. Change the permissions to R/W by clicking the button in the top right. Rename the existing bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.bak. Then paste the file in this directory. Change permission back to R/O. Reboot and enjoy the show.
Will be adding more colors soon. Put in your request.

I actually used Photoshop to make the icon. Then I used a program called Boris Red to make it 3D and spin.
+1 on a red animation.
It would be very cool too if you could make it pick up speed. What I mean by tha is have it start spinning faster and faster as it boots up...

Here is an animation I made based off of the OSX boot up. Put in /system/media to install it. Make sure permissions are rw-r--r-- for the zip.. or jsut copy the permissions for the original bootanimation.zip in Root Explorer.

Any way you can make a splash screen that looks like this but without the loading circle? That would be amazing and it would look like a Mac when you first boot (no circle then the circle would come in later just like a mac).

Wont make it flashable, currently it is a universal boot animation that works on both AOSP and Sense ROMs, making it flashable would require setting specifics for AOSP based ROMs and Sense based stuff. And no offense. But I dont give a d**n about Sense.

is there a way to change the boot logo (a stupid motorola icon) on the A2? I have seen the option in rom toolbox, but not for our device.
not impossible, but very hard
I have HTC Desire, and i wanted to drop the white HTC logo in favour of a black background variant.
long story short it was really REALLY hard, it requires FULL root. (ROOT AND S-OFF)
I wouldn't recommend trying it unless your very happy to delve into the darker parts of android customisation.

It is fully possible to do it without unlocking the bootloader. I have messed around with it and managed to turn the stock logo into a .bmp image but not vice versa. However that was all based off of information for the Atrix 4G and Photon because I was being stupid and didn't think about googling "droid bionic/droid 3/droid razr/droid 4 boot logo change."
So here it is for the Bionic. I haven't tried it but I bet it will work (for making the logo.bin, then flash it using FASTBOOT).
Got it

It's not a compressed zip file. It's just storage. Then you'll have to copy it to system/customize/resource after you've renamed the one that's in there. (something like bootanimation.zip.old) Then hit paste and set permissions to match your old one. Reboot & check out your handiwork.

Hello All!
I was trying to flash bhundven's Blastoff Kernel. For some reason it caused system wide force closes.
I'm really not that worried about it, I was just playing around, but what I'm mainly interested in is the bootanimation that the kernel put on my phone.
It actually had two. The first was this sweet team acid logo, followed by the rom installed unicorn (I'm on Valhalla Final).
Does anybody know....
A. How could I obtain that team acid bootanimation?, and
B. How could I place the obtained bootanimation in front of my current one so I could have both?
I currently am using a cool green bios bootanimation I found in the forums.
Thanks All!
Matt

Is that possible? I'm sure it is just a matter of editing the text file that comes in the boot animation zip, I just don't know how to do it.....

thanks coop your the man! I read a thread on boot and shutdown animations but I just couldn't get it...and I have too much going to to take the time out right how.
I attached my current bootanimation. In the interest of clarity, I would like the team acid logo portion of the boot animation gfx myst attached above (part 0) in front of my boot animation I just attached. Mine has two parts also, I like part 0 from mine too. That's why I couldn't figure it out. I was trying to take part 0 from myst animation, rename it to part 1 and copy it to mine. Didn't work. Once again, thanks!
Matt
I think you should know that if your boot animation is longer then the time it takes to boot to android it WILL cut the animation short. Be aware even if he gets it working it might not show the animation properly. There has been requests to slow boot times so the animation shows and well the devs and most people have laughed. I think there is a tool out there that will allow you to create a live wallpaper from bootanimations but I have no idea where to look. I vaguely remember people talking about it.
Thanks for the info man. I try to soak up as much as possible.
I'm pretty sure it will work. I'm currently using a 2 part bootanimantion, I'm just trying to delete one part from each and then merge the remainder.
We'll see.
Either way, good input and thanks!
In my experience, it has finished the boot animation for me... anyways I will work on at and should have it working by Sunday... I have school and stuff so yeah.
