Does anyone know of an app or program to sync your itunes music to the droidx? I personally just like the way itunes works on my pc but having to pick individually each song i put on the pc and move it over to the x manually is a pain in the a$$... Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!
Check out DoubleTwist. That's like Android version of iTunes!
awesome. question answered. thanks a lot!
Tried doubletwist, didn't like it, and it required USB.
If you happen to already use iTunes to store your music, and you have a wifi network at home... then I highly recommend TuneSync: http://www.appbrain.com/app/tunesync-lite-(for-itunes)/com.highwindsoftware.tunesync.lite
I tried a couple others, but nothing as good (or easy) as this.
Easiest way. Take SD card out, place into computer, drag-place, re-insert sdcard. Enjoy!
thats what i was trying to avoid Casen. its a pain to have to do that every time i add music to my itunes files on my pc. i have to go into it, try to remember which files i added, then add them manually. doubletwist seemed to work but its not transferring every file so i guess i'll try the tunesync app now...
honestly i was the same way the first week i got my dx, coming from my iphone.
i used itunes for everything, podcasts, videos, music. now i dont miss it at all.
DT and TS were both okay to use, but in the end i now just use mass storage device and copy the files/folders over in a couple secs. for podcasts, doggcatcher or beyondpod on the phone will mean u never have to use the computer again.
yeah seems to me i'm just gonna keep doing it that way... thanks to everyone.

in case anyone is looking for this it's called isyncr, not isync. it works well, the wifi sync is a bit slow though so i don't really use it.

Start with this for drivers:

And look through this if you have problems:

Oh, and as far as I know there's no "iTunes" for Android so try this:
http://www.simplehelp.net/2009/07/29/how-to-copy-music-to-your-android-phone-from-windows/
thx!!! it helped a lot. Was more complicated than what i thought. Wasnt just download the driver but go to some options on my cell phone, pick usb mass storage the mount option n stuff like that but finally worked! xD
I might come up with some more questions tho.. till then!
i've heard a lot of people talk about double twist.
http://www.doubletwist.com/dt/Home/Index.dt
Id defineatly recommend double twist. Its really easy to use and I love that I can drag and drop videos into it and it will automatically convert it to the correct file type no matter what phone im using.
Also syncing play lists is really easy

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Samsung has an app called Kies. For some reason it's hidden from the US however I was assured that downloading it from here: http://www.samsung.com/ae/consumer/...XSG/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support
Will work just the same.

I downloaded kies as u said but its not working with my captivate for some reason. Says "Reconnect the device on Samsung Kies(PC Studio) mode. Kies doesn't support this connect mode"
Don't mess with kies, just use drag and drop for simplicity.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
Drag and drop is always easy, but Kies isn't bad for media management (also enables tethering if you select it under Settings->Applications->USB Settings) - you can find it here: http://www.all-samsungphones.com/samsung-wave-s8500-software-kiespc-sync-download.html/
I use Double Twist for my mac (just make sure for windows you have the drivers, you have the USB debugging active, and then you mount the drive) but i loved it. it transfered very easily. I was actually able to port over my itunes play lists and copy my old iphone playlist to my phone.
Ok, so i got my captivate and doubletwist on my mac and for the life of me my playlists in itunes will not show up on the phone. Only the songs show up is there a way to get the playlists in itunes to show up on the phone?
the playlists are in my phone. it is an m3u file, right?
other than that, i have no clue. I really don't have a use for play lists, I only put what songs I want in my playlist and sync it.
yes they are set as m3u and ive placed them in several locations on the phones memory but they will not show up on the phone its self only way i can get a playlist on there is to create one from the phone and thats kinda lame
Coming from Windows Mobile (I-Mate PDA2k, HTC Touch Cruise, HTC Diamond2)
I've always been able to
1. Sync my Phone (Contacts, Calender, etc)
2. Access my Storage (Internal and SD Card)
3. Share Internet (Internet Pass-Through)
4. Charge my phone
at the same time.
Now I bought myself the Sensation XE and found out that when I connect the phone to my computer, I can do only one of the first 3 options mentioned at any given time. That is 1, 2 or 3, which isn't as good as what I could do on WM (1, 2 and 3 same time)
So I was wondering if there is anyway to set up the phone or my computer or if there is any program or app I could use to enable all those options at the same time (sync my phone, access the storage and use the internet from my computer)
I hope there is a solution to my problem else I would be pretty disappointed with HTC constant habit to disappoint me and Android on the whole
Off the topic, previously when on Windows Mobile, I had the Windows Media Player which had the "Now Playing" list to which I could ADD songs to it or REMOVE songs from it.
Now on both the default Music Player and the PowerAMP there doesn't seem to be such feature and so I was wondering if there is any music player app available that has a Now Playing list with options to add/enqueue songs to the Now Playing list and also option to remove songs from the list
I am aware that I can create a playlist, however some days I want some specific songs and other days I want only a few of those songs.
can anyone help?

Hi,
I used to have HD2 WinMo,and when I found Android could go on the phone,I never looked back.
Considering how much better Android is than WinMo,you should be able to live with the very few parts of WinMo that are no longer available in Android.
I'm on ARHD ICS 6.0.0,and my stock music player has a "queue" system which you can edit(add music etc.)
HTC Sync is one of the few things that bugs me about Android.
You will find yourself installing/uninstalling it a lot!
While it is synching,it does charge as well, but that's as close as you will get to the original.
Good luck.
I'm not aware of software PC side which does this
regarding sync'ing the easiest solution is to use Google services - that way calendar, email, contacts etc - all sync all the time - usb, wifi, 3G - you simply stop thinking about them frankly as it all happens automatically
hope this helps
Shaun
Thanks for helping out both of you
I guess now I have a different issue
I've started syncing everything with Google and so the Sync part is dealt with
I'm getting an unlimited data plan so the Internet Pass-Through is also dealt with
However now I notice if I mount the SD card into the PC, it becomes unavailable on the phone (if you know any solution to make the SD card available on both places at once, please let me know)
Regarding the music player, I think I will have to wait for the official ICS to release, the phone is less than a month old so I don't want to try weird stunts on it.
anyways thanks once again

Hi,
In terms of the sd card,it can only work in one place at a time.
Hence the option in Settings/storage to unmount the card,so that you can also remove it while the phone is on.
Hey,
I need a program to sync my movies folder via usb. I tried microsoft sync toy but it doesnt work with the tablet. Dropbox is no option and I think the Asus sync program doesnt have the ability.
the best one for over the air (not usb) is foldersync...building your own dropbox
it´s on the market
regards
Mr.Lee
Have you tried Dirsync?
http://www.dirsyncpro.org/download.html
Since neither FolderSync (which is great over WiFi) nor DirSync support MTP as far as I can see, your options are down to... errrrr... none. I do heartily recommend WiFi-based syncs with FolderSync though, and Titanium Media Sync may do the job as well (although I cannot recall if that provides sync over MTP connections as well).
I will try that but I am not happy. I fly frequently so I often push 10Gb and more up. That takes ages via Wifi.
Is there a know program to wirelesly sync contacts and agenda?
I did a search and this is the best I came up with :s
Cause the asus sync kinda sucks imo. You need to klick it at the tablet then pick dates on the computer and then hit sync? There is no way to do it automatically? HTC and Samsung do a WAY better job, but don't have such tablets :s

Oh, yeah, with that kind of transfer volume you can at least shower, have dinner and have a nap in between (and after dinner as well, quite possibly). Isn't a card reader the best option then? (And maybe an extra card so you can transfer content to one card and have the next one pumped full in the meantime?). Do you have the dock as well? That would double your transfer rate, since you could use both cards to transfer at the same time in either a multiformat reader or several card readers used simultaneously.
I'm sorry if I am pursuing a lost cause, but I'm just trying to think with you here.
Netgear recently released a gigabit router so the speed to transfer over wifi will be a lot quicker.
Though yes, i do agree (or at least i can't find a solution myself), surely there must be an easier way to push large files from PC to the tablet.
I inserted the SD Card, however the copying function keeps on crashing for (for numerous small files in many folders)
There must be some software out there that supports MTP! Totally frustrating. I use goodsync to sync to my PC/ phone/ NAS but i can't sync anything to the tablet!

What is the recommended way to sync back to your computer if you are using FolderSync? ie. SMB/ FTP/ SFTP etc? I have Windows7.
I dont quite understand your comment re: sync over MTP. Is FolderSync not providing that intermediary between the tablet and the PC? (ie. essentially synching over Wifi to MTP?)
Just want to push this topic!
I couldnt get Folder Sync to work. There are so many options available and it seems you need additional software installed on the computer. There are no manuals available Sync over Dropbox etc. is no option because of their file size limitations. Im using Isyncr now for my music files. Works awesome.
I still have to do the movies, etc. by hand
I've looked through the forums and have seen many suggestions about different apps that will help you sync your music using your iTunes library and playlists. I've tried Easy Phone Sync, Double Twist and iSyncr, but all suffer from the same issue and crash part way through syncing when doing a complete sync or sync with a lot of changes. The sync eventually finishes after a number or app restarts, unplugging/plugging in phone, etc. It's just really annoying that it can't be a smooth process.
Has anyone else had issues with large libraries? And if so, any suggestions on how to get the syncing process working smoothly so you can literally just click sync and then wait till it finishes? I'm using Windows 7 and have tried syncing from 2 different pcs, with same issues on both. I've also had the issue on stock S3 rom as well as custom roms I've installed. I've also tried both default exFAT and FAT32 file systems on my SD card(64GB), but same issues every time.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
I too have a large music library. My strategy is to drag and drop folders over the USB connection. I don't find a program necessary. When I want to change stuff around, I just delete what I don't want and drag on what I do. I use it like a jump drive.

Yeah, I was heading down that path as well, but I just wish it wasn't such a PITA. It's so much easier to manage it using play lists. I switched from using an iPhone, which was such a breeze, and I just don't understand why it has ended up being so clumsy on Android.
Blame apple for that.

I found that making playlists in iTunes was a hassle—partly because I was only ever copying over full albums, so I literally had to go through each and every album and turn it into a playlist for syncing, which I found to be quite redundant. Dragging and dropping albums onto the device turned out to be simpler to me. Maybe this is because almost all of my music is sorted into full-album folders already.

I'm completely the opposite and find playlists in iTunes much easier to manage my library and what I want to take with me or group together for other reasons. I have close to 90GB of music and only enough space on my external SD card to hold about 55GB. Using a library that you can drag and drop to/from while seeing a live update of how much data the library will consume makes much more sense to me.
I've tried doing the syncing using other music apps as well(e.g. Winamp), however then I run into issues with those programs and crap support of m4a when transferring. I would get huge amounts of failures due to "unknown file error". So even when trying other library management software it seems to not work smoothly or cover all bases.
All I want is an app that will sync a playlist (partial update or full) without crashing after getting to about 10-15%. It seems like it should be such a simple ask in today's world, but alas it appears not.

I know this thread is a little dated, but I run into the same issue. I have a 64G microSD in my phone and it is mostly music. I just reformatted it for a new phone, and I'm on my third try with isyncr to get the whole itunes playlist copied over. I may opt for my old technique I use with my Sansa clip: pop out the microSD card and put it in my computer. then run the neat little program itunes sync (free from binary fortress software]) to copy over the itunes playlist. It always seems to work. I just need to take the back off my phone to pull the sd card each time, and that's less easy than plugging in a cable.
So I had a bit of a scare the other day when my phone refused to read my SD card, all fixed now but it got me wondering what would have happened had my SD card actually died. So after a few days of searching the net for an app that would wirelessly or using the data cable sync my phones data to my PC, I couldn't find one that did what I wanted it to so here I am. The phone in question is the MOTO X STYLE on a stock ROM. Does said app or one like it exist?
I'd appreciate the help
EDIT - Just to clarify, I do have apps such as Mega backing up my device, the reason for this thread wasn't to find an alternative but to find one that'd backup/sync to my PC. I want to be able to watch the videos and view the pics located on my phone on my PC and I hardly ever download music to my PC (I download them via my phone, to my phone) so backing up my devices music to my PC would be nice.

sorry i havent seen an app that can do that, not to say there isnt one.
not what you wanted, but i can offer some better alternatives for auto app and pic/vid backup.
picasa from google will sync your vids and pics to the cloud and can be viewed on pc through a browser.
titanium will also sync to the cloud your app data. if your music is the data of some app, i would think it gets backed up, otherwise, no. although the backup could be viewed on a pc, its not in its original format.
any music that you obtained legally, probably has some protection on it to keep you from moving it anyways. at least it used to, but i haven't bought any music in some time, so maybe this changed.
sorry i couldnt be of more help

Hey, man, AirMore can surely help you! It is a completely free app based on web. You can use it to transfer phone or SD card data between Android and PC wirelessly. What's more, you can enjoy media files on web. For instance, you can watch videos of your phone directly on web rather than download them to PC in advance. Search it on Google Chrome, and you'll be satisfied with it. Please make sure you've set up your Android and PC in the same WIFI network before using it.

Thanks for the help, really do appreciate it but I found an application called MobileGo by Wondershare and it does everything I want it to. Syncing to my PC has to be done manually and using a USB connection but that's more than fine with me.
For those of you who might want to do what I did, which was to backup to a PC, I can't recommend MobileGo enough
