so my htc desire runs at a gsm frequecy of 850/something/something
when my network's 3g is @ 800
Now I installed cyanogen mod and I suddenly get an H data connection ( HSDPA I think) and I cant understand howcome when I am in that mod I am able to get internet like that from my phone provider, but not when I am in stock..
right now I am running shadowsense, and I would love it if i could enable getting internet like that again but in this mod..
Any help would be very appricated..

US 3G is not supported by T8282. Period.

The Touch HD is not compatible with any US 3G networks. If you are going to use it in the US , the best you are going to get is 2G ( Edge ).
By the way Welcome to the forum, unfortunately many people ( like you ) find this forum " after " they have bought their phone.

first time here I am glad to be a new owner of Htc Polaris but my problem is this :
my network is 3.5 not 3 and they say I cant use their sim with my phone is this true?
currently I have an old phone of my vendor which is cdma so that's why I cant test their sim.
Do u think there is a way of patching my phone so I could use it?
So what about 3.5 G?
Phone will use as much as it can, even if it's only 2 G.
BTW, I often have "H" mark on my phone - should stay for HSDPA

Currently i'm using HTC HD2 which i'm using more for Internet access & router when i'm at home,Due to HD2 is not comfortable for me to do typing during driving,i'm planning to buy 1 Htc Snap but b4 i take that decision to buy,could anyone let me know :-
01) is it have the Wifi Router function?
02)Is it have support 3g / HSDPA signal?
Or anyone can suggest to me which is more comfortable for me...

Try going to dialer and hit *#*#4636#*#*, it will take you to a menu, select phone information, I use WCDMA only, that connects you to 3g only. Once you choose a option that suits you, go to you Mobile Network Settings, and find Network Operators, choose search network, whatever networks are available should show up, choose yours. This should reconnect you to 3g.
it seems after investigating tht my phone didnt root properly and i have no idea whats happened :S i did (oh i cant post URLs intill after eight posts :/ it was on 'myhtcdesire dot com' method 2) , help lol
I have an unlocked ChaCha that i am using to replace one of my HD2's (one running WM7 dual booted with Android 2.3.3, and one im replacing is strictly Android 2.2)
Anyway i have this ChaCha unlocked and popped my sim card in and everythign works fine except even after putting the different APN's out there for Tmobile US, im still only connecting to Edge (at least thats waht it says in the data connection area in the status bar)
i tried doing a Mobile Connection Test and i got results in the 3g range..so im confused.
Then i did a test on my HD2 WM7 and got results in the 4g range. Is my ChaCha running HSPL / 3G and just says "E" for edge or do i need to modify / edit something else?
Any help would be appreciated. If i confused anyone please let me know and i can clarify because i really need to figure out whats going on
actually i dont think at all its running at 3g speeds because downloading skype from android market just took a couple minutes, where as my HD2 does it within seconds
I only typed in wap.voicestream.com.
You will only get EDGE if you use your t-mobile sim. The radio frequencies are not the same.
