Hey there, I was running CM6 V20 BlackMod, tried updating Titanium Backup through the Google Marketplace, and noticed that the apps status was stuck in a downloading loop. If I cancel download, I get a (process.com.android.vending) force close, and then the market place reopens immediately, with the same download loop. If I download another random app, it will show the status of Titanium Backup at !00% downloaded, but never installed. I uninstalled TB, which did not make a difference, and even upgraded to the latest CM6 V21 and Gapps addon with no change to the download loop.
Does anyone else have this issue, or know how this could be resolved? Suggestions appreciated.
This is my first post here, I do frequent this forum quite a bit, let me know if i left out any information needed for help.
people normally avoid answering questions when there not placed in the Q&A section (this being the themes and apps section, for posting themes and apps)
but im not sure what ROM this is that ur running.. CM6 V20 or V21?? the CM6 version for the hero is 6.0.0.. are u running a nightly version??

I'm on CM6 RC1 on my Motorola Droid, and I've decided to switch over to Bugless Beast instead.
Titanium Backup wasn't working properly, so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately, it seems that the market was in the middle of updating it, and anytime I try to go to the market to install it, there's an empty progress bar, and if I hit "cancel download," the market app crashes.
So, is there a way to backup all of my apps and settings using `adb`? Or is it possible to get the .apk for Titanium Backup from another source?
(bump)Same problem
I'm on CM6 RC2 on a Mytouch3g. Same issue. I'm wanting to move up to the full release and off the (somehwat buggy) RC. However, I don't feel like redoing all of my app installs. Anyone have an idea as to what's going on?
I know this may be a silly question but I have just started flashing ROMS though I have read extensively.
I flashed from Android 2.3.3 to CM 7 nightly build 30, I like the new roms but some of the system apps I had and backed up with Titanium Backup are no longer on my phone or in my titanium backup on my SD card. The two apps I miss the most are Swype and Polaris office.
What did I do wrong and how can I rectify it. I had to revert to Bionex 2 but I would prefer to use CM 7.
Thanks much.

When you install a new ROM on your phone, you are going to get only system apps which are backed into the new ROM. I guess CM7 does not come with SWYPE and Polaris Office pre-installed. The main purpose of custom ROMs is to remove any unwanted system apps which came pre-installed on your phone. Though if you want these apps you can find the .apk files for them and put them under system/app folder and restart your phone.
Try and find a thread in general section. There is one thread which has all the original .apk files.
yea cm7 dont come with swype or polaris that was a stock feature thats jus how they do there roms even if u backed it up in titanium u wouldnt see a setting to restore now as far as apps not being in titanim. go into titanium hit ur menu button n im pretty sure theres a setting that says refresh apps list try that bud.
Thank you for your response. I downloaded the app pack yesterday. It had Swype in there but not Polaris. I installed Swype but it didn't work it just kept crashing.
I'll try again though.
The missing apps I was talking about was Swype and Polaris and as you said those came stock.
I like CM 7 just wish I could have those two apps working on it.
The original swype apk will most likely not work...what will work is if you go to beta.swype.com and register for the beta, it will download the swype installer and then swype...which will work for your phone.
And go here for the original apk thread.
Polaris office is not that file, where can I find the apk for it?
If you scroll down a little bit, someone posted a link to everything that was in /system/app folder...I haven't looked in those files but I would assume it would be located there.
Hi!
Apologies in advance, I don't know much about the workings of android, I just follow guides!
I'm trying out my first custom rom, namely gingerclone, and am having trouble getting all my apps back up and running...
Before installing the rom, I backed up all my apps and settings with titanium backup, so I could restore them much easier after the rom change.
Although when I tried restoring them, I had lots of force closes with titanium backup itself, and about half of my apps would immediately FC on opening and didn't have icons. I then uninstalled the problem apps manually in settings>applications, and tried installing via the market. For some apps, it worked fine, but for others, whenever I try to install from the market, my phone reboots when the download is done and it tries installing. Sometimes it won't even download and just gives me errors, and for some they will install, but will not launch, just force close. I've tried cleaning the dalvik cache with titanium backup, and deleting settings files for the problem apps from my sd card, so that as far as I can see, there is no trace of them. But still, random reboots whenever I try installing, or unopenable if I manage to get them to install.
Any idea what could be going on? Plenty of other apps have installed and are working fine, so I'm stumped.
Had the same exact problem trying to install apps with titanium backup.
what i did was just slow down and install each app one by one and wait for each app to completely install before trying to install the next.
trying to download all of them all and once always made my phone reboot like it does to yours.
well hope this helps!
Wel I ended up uninstalling them all and trying to install again from the market, but I can't even get them to install individually now. It seems like trying to restore the backup has put some rogue files somewhere and is messing it up when I try to install the apps...
I have no idea why, but everything has started working again, so problem solved :/
I don't know. That never happened with me

Both have been fixed but I remain very curious as to WTF, I don't know enough about Android to make any guesses??
Bug 1, running CM 10.1 and somewhere along the line of updating to the latest daily (Maybe March 20, not sure?) my browser began to not work right, I could go to any webpage w/o a problem but if I clicked on a link in the page I was on I would wind up with a blank page. This was not intermittent, it failed every time. I could open a page but could not open any link from the first page.
Bug 2, couldn't fix bug one other than wipe and re-install from scratch (which I did later) so I restored my backup of CleanRom and all seemed well until I tried to install a new app and couldn't get Google Playstore to open. It would say "Loading" and sit there forever. I used the Goo manager to download the latest Google apps and that fixed the problem but.... Playstore worked at the time the backup was made and was set to automatically update. After the restore it didn't try to update, it just hung trying to open.
Again, both are fixed, bug 1 by a fresh install of CM 10.1 and bug 2 by a new download of GAPPS but I'd sure like to know what caused the hiccups....
All your files were moved to a 0 folder and that's why you can't get anything loaded up on cleanrom and you don't need to flash gapps and touch wiz roms. And also aosp rooms aren't always gna be 100% perfect since there will be bugs so don't be complaining about having problems.

Guys, I would absolutely appreciate some help in working something out. I'm trying to restore both Need for Speed Most Wanted and Plants Vs. Zombies on CM 10.2 but it's just not working out. In the case of PVZ I had made all my progress on a 4.2.2 rom and then attempted to restore it with TiBu but after it's done if you tap the icon it opens but then immediately force closes. The same happens with NFS:MW with the difference being that I had made all my progress while on CM 10.2. I flashed a new CM 10.2 nightly, restored both apps, and both will open for a second then close. If I download both apps fresh from the playstore they boot up fine. I tried downloading the apps from the playstore then restoring just data but I get the same thing. I know the issue must have something to do with EAs DRM scheme but I don't know how to get around it. I managed to restore my data on NFS:MW with an altered .apk I found but I don't want to have to pirate games that I legitimately bought. FYI I went back to CM 10.1 to see if the games would restore completely and they do. I don't know what else to try, please help!
Hello, I am having the same issue. I think that it has to do with our android device ID's. Every time you wipe and flash a new rom, you are assigned a new id. Which would make sense because you say you can restore fine from your backup... This is because your backup is restoring your old android device id. I remember seeing an option somewhere in tb to restore previous android device id. This may be the solution. I hope it works, I am not willing to start nfs over again. Already have once. Good luck!
