Hello experts:
Today morning I found my captivate phone in powered down mode. Now when I switch on the phone, it starts up, I can see the main home page for a second, and then phone again switches off itself. I have tried multiple times, and every time it is switching off. Any idea how can I get it to boot normally so I can use my phone.
Thanks.
Try plugging your phone up for a few minutes, and then turning it on while it is still plugged up.

My friend recently gave me an HTC Dash for T-Mobile. It's running WM6.1 Kavana's ROM 1.33.424.2. After he gave it to me I unlocked for AT&T completely, 100% legally. I called T-Mobile and they gave me the unlock code.
But since I've been using it it will randomly turn off. It seems to shut off more often using MMS or anything through the Internet, but it will also turn off just sitting in my pocket or while texting. Luckily it hasn't ever crashed during a call.
When I try to turn it back on it will either shut down before fully turning on (it will show the boot screen but turn off), it will turn on but say the battery is dangerously low and it needs to be shut down, or one time it had an error message saying "The device could not be started due to sudden loss of power. Click YES to continue or NO to shut down. Please be sure the device is completely shut down before removing the battery." If you click YES it shuts down. If you click NO the screen turns white then tries to start up a few seconds later and fails.
The way I stop this is plug it in to a charger and turn it on so it can't die. It says the battery is low but since its plugged in it won't turn off. Then once it turns on I turn it off normally by tapping the power button and selecting Power Off. Then I take out the battery, put the battery back in, turn the phone on, and then the battery is back to the power level it was before the crash and the phone works fine again. But any texts or calls I had made in the past few minutes are erased as if they hadn't been made, sent, or received.
I've already tried a few hard resets and it doesn't seem to work. I even downgraded to WM6. I just want to know if this is a software problem, a battery problem, a hardware problem, or something else. Thank you to anyone that can help.

Good luck,
I've tried the hard reset a few times, I don't know whats wrong.
as the title said the phone will not turn on. i was using the phone in regular fashion on the gmail app, and i went to go change labels on an email, and as soon as i clicked the appropriate button, the phone shut off. i have since tried to place the phone in download and recovery mode and neither will work, all i get is a black screen, and a very faint vibration as if the phone is trying to boot up.
any ideas?
Try pulling the battery out, wait like 5 seconds, and put it back in.
Hi,
I have a Google Nexus 5, which is less than a year old. This morning I unlocked my phone and two seconds later it turned itself off. And ever since then its been turning itself on and off while its connected to a power supply. And when its not it just stays off.
Trying to turn it on doesn't work since the screen doesnt get passed the GOOGLE screen before it automatically turns off again.
Please help
Maybe you have a stuck power button. There are already several threads about this issue here on xda. Use the search tool
Hi all,
My phone is rooted and running the engineer rom that was made popular in the Verizon forums. (Yes, I'm running the AT&T version). Ive been using the rooted phone for close to 2 weeks now, without any hiccups.
I was browsing reddit with reddit Sync, and then the app crashed on me. Everytime I tried to force close, and start up, it would come up as a white screen. Finally I decided to restart the phone. Hold down power button, press the restart button, and it shuts down. I see the Custom lock, then a quick Samsung flash, then I see the AT&T globe spinning. It does three spins the freezes.
Up until this part, everything is normal. Usually from here it takes anywhere between 30-60 seconds for my phone to come back to the lock screen. Except its not been sitting at the AT&T globe for almost 10 minutes.
Things I've tried:
Letting battery die, trying to restart it
Holding volume down + power for hard reset
I don't believe I took any security updates, and I was running PF2
Neither have worked. Any ideas?

Hi,
I've had this Moto G3 for just over 6 months now and have had no problems with it until very recently. Basically, I was trying to add a new Google account to the phone earlier, but after entering my PIN to access the Google screen, the phone froze, and I had to force reboot. Startup took slightly longer, but then the phone switched on.
Two hours later, I picked up the phone and pressed the power button. Nothing. I pressed and held, for about 12 seconds. Nothing. I unplugged and replugged the charger. Nothing. I put the phone down and went on my laptop, and suddenly, my lockscreen appeared.
It then did the same thing later. What's happening? It can't be the charger, or the battery. I've never rooted or modified the system things on the phone, it's close to stock Marshmallow. Any help?
Have you tried a hard reset through recovery mode?
