does this mean an overclock kernel is possible?

i will make one tomorrow

Sweet! I hope 710Mhz will work as good as it did in CursorSense running Android 1.5

gonna try and lets see gonna need it tested for sure

Can this kernel be used with a 2.2 ROM? It sure would be nice to have 2.2, the new radio and a fully working camera all at once

no forget it on 2.2 to fix cam, wont happen, android 2.2 needs atleast .32

I'll gladly test it

i'll post here as soon as it's done tomorrow

If it's not too much to ask, could you make one that works with the stock ROM? I never got around to switching to RCMagic and the rooted stock one is stable enough for me to postpone the switch.

If I'm not mistaken I think it will work on all custom ROMs that has the official 2.1 as base.

yes once it will compile proper for me

Any luck with compiling capy?

You will find 710OC kernel in other thread but the wifi is not working.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778083

sorry i posted it in the other thread wifi is missing but gonna try fix that got some help on how to cause htc didn't include the driver but it runs smooth at 710mhz i made flash no wipe update

Sweet! Good work Lets just hope the wifi is fixable then.

it is and i will do it

nice someone add openvpn and compcache

HTC has nothing to do with the ti lan driver, the source is available always has been, compile with the kernel or compile pointing to your fresh compiled kernel and it just works (unless the board file is messed up(fu htc) ).
I just got it compiled and everything works first try on your rom, i'll send you the files.

thx man appriciate it

nice rom btw, even though i hate sense lol

[Devs] WG-Kernel 2.0

Hey with this new kernel that has been really impressive to me
I want to work with any Devs out there to bring this kernel to them for testing
I think a lot of people would really like it since it has choices for CFS/BFS RHack/NoRHack
So, if any devs want to work with me on bringing this any build - email me
[email protected]
Hopefully, I want to create a kernel for everyone to use - I know CM's has been more popular for its features - but this one has the features plus a really good speed
I would really like to work with any Eclair Devs to improve the speed of this before I make my Eclair ROM (sooner or later - may need a break first for life lol)
I was really behind on this working on the kernel way too much - so 2wks behind

Would love this for SuperD.....
hey i just tried out your kernel on eclair. i used your kernel from 2.6 cfs w/ ram hack on my custom speed demon build of eclair using manups ramdisk and i am unable to pass splash screen. prolly needs more implementation of eclair goodies
What files did you "transplant" to use the kernel on another build?
u must unpack the boot.img's then replace kernel

THanks, Im gonna do some experimenting on a 1.6 build later
Anyone else trying this kernel on Eclair other then Herver?
I'm waiting to switch to Eclair until a fast/responsive kernel is implemented.
Tried BFS/RAMHACK with Manup's Eclair ROM, kernel loaded properly, ran quickly, only issue was that bluetooth didn't work.
My issue with all these different kernels out there, is that I'd like to see source code accessible, or at the very least, maybe attach the .config file, so I know what exactly has been changed.
Ok lol who wants for what ROM?
You have to grab a few things from it - such as the rootdir plus setup xbin if it doesn't use it
hi wes.
i would certainly like to help the cause and assist in improving upon things (where possible and if feasable), but i would really need to see the source and .config to make advancements.
is this available on your github?
you're handing these out pre-built? Do you have somewhere we could download the source?
Figured I'd test it, and figured it wouldn't work...
The kernel (CFS + ram hack) doesn't work as a direct drop-in on dwang.

[STOPPED][ROM][32B;G1]DarchLegend[Fast][WG kernel]

First thank to all dev's! Particulary bcrook and sanpei.
Original link
Hi,
after many test and hours, here is my second ROM!! I will port villain's ROM tomorrow, I can0t active wireless connecionts on this ROM!
really, it is a port of DarhLegendv5.0.5 , ported to 32B (and G1 perfect SPL too(?))
To port this, I've used a WG kernel with RAM hack.
Partition Layout: Fat 32 ;; EXT 2/3/4 ;; SWAP
Wipe : data/factory reset, dalvik-cache, SD:ext partition
So, the links..!:
DarchLegendv505.Artifexed.v01.BETA
works:
most things!
don't work:
wifi, BT, camera
Change Log:
v01 : BETA release
Thank to say what you think about this port!
Whats the point of announcing a ROM without actually announcing anything other than the fact it is coming ? Seriously ..
No offense or anything .. thanks for putting time and effort into building a rom.. just saying that this thread is kind of pointless if you're not actually announcing anything ..
He's announcing the announcement
look there goes santa with the 2.1 update

Ive noticed alot of devs have been doing that in the cdma hero forums. Kinda like how tmo, sprint, at&t tell you your gonna get 2.1 update except this is actually gonna happen.
if the rom didnt have a release date then say something but since its tomorrow then just chill i am starting to think people join to flame people
all i wanna know is does is it going to fix our tethering problem.

it should I know i got it on sprint hero but i dont know what is gained or lost in a port. I do want to add thankyou to the devs that make roms cuz I know I get sensitive when people say something bad about my work and they just let it roll of them like water. Also I like the idea of telling you when the next release is cuz you aren't stuck in limbo wondering how things are going
how is it going with this production
32B Wifi with Hero ROM
Hi,
anyone can help me?
I can't active the Wifi with DarchLegend on my 32B.
The wlan.ko is OK.
Wich file(s) must I change?
thank in advance
The wlan.ko needs to be built together with the kernel. You can't just take a wlan.ko and stick it in a ROM.

Well basically you can, but then you'd have to use the same kernel build that was used to build that wlan.ko. Every time kernel is compiled, modules for it need to be recompiled with it.

Any Rom(or kernal) with EXT4, Overclocking, JIT, Compcache and working Camera

I'm tired of my Hero lagging crazy. Its hard to use my phone and I'm going to switch if its not fixed soon. I'm looking at Fresh Toast v1.1 with Overclocking, Compcache, and Ramzswap all supported by a .27 kernel which won't allow the camera to work on 2.1 roms but will on 1.5 roms correct? If the camera will work if this kernel is pushed to a 1.5 rom how exactly do I get the kernal on my phone.
Even if this isn't possible try and list the fastest kernel so far with camera features working. Looking at the Kernel list in the wiki doesn't really help...
Please XDA, I once loved this phone.

1. You need a 1.5 Rom. Those Roms come with the 2.6.27 kernel (which the source was released). Toast fixed the EXT4 and did the overclock. If you wish, I can build you a kernel with the Rom that you choose for these functions.
2. The HTC keyboard does suck in its lag. I personally like the stock Android keyboard. There's a few developers that incorporate those into their Roms and I know some have them as themes. I'll look for you.

Not sure that you can use ext4 though, but I figure that's the least of my sacrifices.

Wow, are you guys serious? I started a new thread because the last thread consisted of only 1 person recommending some gumbo kernel, I looked at the kernel it has overclocking but no ext4(or EXT3 I think). If your not going to be helpful and your just going to act like idiots don't reply at all. Stop roid raging when I tell you my Hero is too slow and I'm pissed off about it.

[Kernal] Fresh 2.3.3 OC 710 undervolt darchshiz #15 Kernal/boot.img flashable zip

This Kernal is meant for Fresh 2.3.3 roms and might work on other fresh roms as well. This has not been fully tested but is working great on my phone. I take no credit for this. You can thank Decad3nce for puting together the boot.img and Darch for his once again great kernal. This still has the Free memkiller in it. Esentually this is the darchshiz #15 kernal with the 710 free memkiller ramdisk that is out.
thanks goes to making this too
Decad3nce for putting it together
Darchstar for his undervolt and kernal work
Urushiol for the initial ramdisk
Toastch for his great kernal base
Use at your own risk
I am not responsible for any issues with your phone after flashing this
Always nandroid before flashing
Enjoy
Fresh_2.3.3_OC_710_UV_DarchShiz_#15.zip
To install
1. download and put on root of sd card
2. restart phone in recovery mode
3. make a nandroid
4. flash a zip from sd card
5. reboot
best of luck and thank you again Decad3nce and Darch
testing right now.

lower voltage = less power consumption = better battery life = cpu runs cooler = longer cpu life. all while maintaining the same performance as long as stability is achieved at the same cpu speed
for people dying for the perfect vanilla unlock with no lag dontforget flipz made one months ago

Confirmed working on fresh 2.3.3 just tested it. Great job! My gf's hero is almost as badass as mine with CM6.0
Have been running for a few hours with no issues. And, I'm not seeing any unlock lag or lags of any kind when waking up so far.

[REQ] Experianced testers for custom kernel

Hey guys,
I am in the process of trying to build a custom kernel for the incredible S, but as it happens HTC have only released sources for the Froyo version, not the Gingerbread version
In my quests to find the changes need to upgrade this kernel to run on 2.3, I am building a kernel for the Saga,as the Desire S was released with 2.3 the sources should be as well.
Anyway, long story short. I have a custom kernel for the saga, with an overclock available and it is quite easy to port all the other features I have added to my kernel without the video / camera problem (assuming this is the 2.3 source, which it looks like it should be), and I see you don't have any custom kernels, is anyone interested in testing?
hi mate, im developin a custom kernel as we speak but yh wudnt mind testing urs... u use the saga 2.6.35 kernel source code?
Sorry didnt realise someone was already on it. Yeah I am using it cause I think it has the changes I need in the board files, and I accidently overclocked it by editing the wrong files. If.you want I can speak to you about what changes you wanna make so you can start devving it on your own

Well done dude !!! I've been following your quest for root and S-OFF on the IS forum, no one here is trying for S-OFF. Our best bet is someone like you porting an IS or Sensation exploit. I'm S-On so i can't test. But since the saga (DS) and IS have the same processor, i'm assuming this goes up to 1.8 Ghz too. Correct me if i'm wrong.
When will be a download link i will test the kernel.
i was wondering if it will work with a Desire kernel? can i try a desire kernel or is a bad ideea?
