[Q] Q how to start roms

Hello guyz, here is a totally noob who needs some tip from you all. I a have my new not rooted GalFIT with baseband S5670XWKQ3 , gingerbread build XWKQA with 2.3.4 android. I want start to try some others roms or hacks, but first of all I would to backup my stock's rom.
So how to backup? what I need in order to do this? I have read some threads here around but still dont find a guide totally Noob like me dedicated.

U dont need 2 backup any rom.
Jst download nd flash d rom wich u r currently running on any oder custom rom wic u will flash.

Ur warranty is void only if u root ur phone. It is nt dependent on rom.

have a look here. type gt-s5670 in search and scroll to bottom of screen. If it is there, it´s available, if not I don´t know.

TY Rodsengard, I can only find the S5670XWKQ2 one not the S5670XWKQ3 like mine.
Maybe mine is a kies updated FW from the S5670XWKQ2...

Nd btw creed's rom or cyanogenmod7 r amazing roms 2 strt wid. U shud surely try 1 of des....!

im basically web-developer,,and new to dis android rootin stuff,,recently i completed till the "downgrading the firmware"(including it), in the followin link "http :/ / wiki .cyanogenmod. com/wiki/ Mo to rol a _D r oi d _ 2_G lo ba l :_F ul l_ Update_Guide"[i hav included spaces in the link coz i wasnt allowed to paste outside links] i couldnt proceed wid d next step coz my phone motorola droid 2 global went into boot-loop state,,
nt able to get out,,pl help,,

If you could type in english that would be nice! :good:

You most probably were on 4.5.629 or didn't wipe data.
First of all try wiping data via stock Android Recovery.

From Next time, please try to provide complete information, so that your question can be answered
1. Which ROM (date) you're running currently
2. Try to un-root your ROM, reboot phone and then check (SuperSU can do it for you, just one click)
If you gets little time, could you please answer why you are in so hurry that you need to mention ASAP ???

Weird ... I'm getting it and having rooted and fully modified MIUI.
Currently on 7.3.1.0.

dude i mentioned asap bcz i had to update it .. it was showing full rom update package like 800+ mb aaround .. i noticed that everyone who has developer rom they getting increamental package .. so why i waste my mbs . on everytime even rom get a lil change ... thats y asap inclded .. do u have any problem with it ??? .
and second thing . i unrooted but still no incremental .. its showing full rom ..

yes bro it's weird i tried on roited and unrooted too .. but still not getting inctemental update .. even i tried on clean rom too . i mean i did clear data sys dalvik n cache n flashe miui only not su n all .. still full rom update . and not getting weekly update too . i get update in every 2-3 month .. and its only full rom . dont know why

[ROOT][WATER 7][HOW TO] Lyf Water 7 LS-5504

This Method Is For Rooting Lyf Water 7 i.e LS-5504
#Big Thanks To XDA and ME
Proceed At Your Own Risk I m Not Responsible For Any Damage To your Phone
To Begin Root Process First : Enable USB Debugging In Developer Options In Settings
*If U Dont see Developer Options Then Goto About Device In Settings Then Tap On Build No. 7 Times
Now Follow Instructions:-
1] Connect Phone To PC And Install the ADB Drivers I provide In .zip
2] Then Power Off your phone And Then Boot it in Fastboot Mode
3]Then open Start.bat And select Option 1
4] Your phone Will restart many times Dont Panic Just wait And Make sure of Charging and Driver's Installation of Your Phone
5] You Are Rooted Now
Download Root Water 7.zip

No buddy no theme engines yet until we r Marshmallow . Substratum starts working from Marshmallow
And the talk of Roms. I m not currently working on one but collecting materials for it ,will start working in a month i have board exams approaching. So sry u have to wait a bit but surely after a month i will. Till then u can suggest what kind of rom u want it would help me

Do take your time mate. Having a custom recovery and root for an unpopular phone like LYF is a big thing.

Isn't tested On Marshmallow . But works with most of lolipop devices . There's risk using ot on Marshmallow so dont try

How did u flashed twrp...i flashed through flashify then after flashing into recovery nothing is coming...then again i m rebooting into revovery stock recovery coming please...help...and i rooted my phone by kingoot.

R u sure u r rooted ? Use Rashr if flashify not working if u have pc then use pc method it's much easier

I saw nubia z9 Mini hardware is somewhat similar to water 7 ( I see both have same kernel too ). Can we do something with that ? I tried to check for their custom ROM so far no luck . I do not see a device forum for z9 mini in xda developers.
BTW how is your exam going ???

Thanks for Informing . And First xam went well not others are comming . And yes this info could help also first we have to make Water-7's own stock zip ROM then further porting is possible without burden .just have to wait till 08/April then i will start making custom rom

@Gautam Maini, "The (Water 7) mobile prompted for an update and when clicked update, the device shut down ( bricked? ) ". This message was from my brother who currently has the mobile. I currently do not have access to the mobile. It seems the newer update ( don't know which update or whether the update caused the issue. I'll ask clearly when I go home ) bricks the mobile. Meanwhile ask people not to update if any update prompt pops up.
Is there any flashable zip that can revive Water 7 if the issue was certainly a brick?

I already told the persons not to update . If device is tempered like rooted or unlocked or custom recovery then updating officially can brick the device .If ur device is purely Factory only then Flash the Official update otherwise​ brick is must . Although sometimes due to Jio's downloading speed issues a damaged update is downloaded which can also cause brick (happned with me on the 1st day i brought device). So now if u r bricked then there are two ways 1).Take the device to Service Center no matter u r rooted or whatever 2).flash TWRP and then i send u a Backup file
I MySelf Did and perfer to do also to end OTA survival if u wanna modify device also have OTA updater installs Bloatware and ADware on device
