Hopefully I am posting in the right thread.
I have an Andriod and the USB Tethering works like a charm. I even used an application so I don't use the USB in-case I forget and/or my friend wants to use the internet and works like a charm.
However, what if we have a Nokia n95 2gb version and it isn't a droid. How do I get tethering on this phone? Is there an application or is there a software I must install to my computer and hook it up to my laptop/desktop to access the internet.
I have unlimited data-plan so I don't have to worry about my bill going higher than my income a month.
I have searched and all the tethering is pointing at the droids.
Just notice this is in the wrong section. ^^... Too much forum...I got confused with the "General" part. Thinking I can discuss anything in here.
Moved to global Q&A by request from OP
Thank you for moving the thread.
Can anyone help me with this situation?

If anyone out there, think they know how to fix our little problem.
Please do not hesitate to contact us.
Great.
Will it also work on a Wm6.5 smartphone? I want to tether it to my Galaxy Tab 7 Plus (android 3.2).
Looking forward to this.
Given how crappy blackberry email is these days it would be nice to have another use for my bold.

People tend to have problems with flashing their phone for the first time, so I decided that I would help people in my free time. This service is 100% free. You can donate if you would like but it is not necessary.
How does my ROM servicing work?
I can help you flash and ROM your phone over the internet using teamviewer. Teamviewer is a program which allows me to see and control your computer's monitor so I can walk you through the ROMing process.

About me
I am hoping to build up a positive reputation with this community after I left my last phone's development community. I have been working on my first ROM based on teamhacksung's ICS ROM and plan to release it by the end of March. I am also working on a custom OTG cable that with use the 3.5MM headphone jack to power external devices. My ICS ROM (which has not been named ^.^) will be made to use sztupy's ICS kernel that support USB OTG. I belive I have started off well in this community as my first post was stickied. I am hoping this thread will help clear the Captivate General section of the overflowing questions which have been posted in the wrong section. If you have anything helpful, feel free to post.

I own a nexus 7 and I think of XDA as a major component of my android device. I also own an mk808 and I would love to see a section dedicated to android mini PC's and development for mini PC's here at XDA. The handful of smaller forums that do develop for my mk808 basically suck. No offense to anyone. But every download has to be routed through an ad site which half the time doesn't work. I understand people need to get paid but it would be nice if things were functional. Any thoughts on development here at XDA? I would be willing to donate a device if need be. They only cost $60 or so and it would be well worth it for me....Thanks
Hi, I'm no stranger to rooting my android phones etc but have had an iPhone for a couple of years now and want to make the change back to Android. My question is which phone(s) do heavy rom'ers and rooters recommend to switch to at this present time? I would like a decent camera as the iphone has one and one that isn't known to drop GPS signal like the Samsung phones have had issues with in the past. Also pretty decent battery life would be nice. My main concern is the developer support with the already mentioned hardware advantages. I want to be able to change my phone to my liking and to be able to use wireless tethering (can't get fast internet where I live) so the most 3rd party developer support is my goal. It used to be that anything Nexus was the way to go for that but they didn't always come with quality hardware. So any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

OK due to an accident I have not been developing anything. However that has changed and in the next 30 days I will be setting up a development network. Here is my question.
What type of laptops should I purchase and what servers should I go with? I want this to be a real work place environment although its something that will be in a spare room.
My thought is I will be purchasing 3 laptops and from the server side a file server, back up file server, development server, and developed app server to run the applications that i have developed.
Any suggestions and links would rock thanks.
Hello,
This is a tricky question in regards to where it fits on XDA. It's only relevant to Android as (I assume) that will be the platform you will be developing for.
I would suggest the device suggestion thread but even that seems weird since the motive there is mobile device.
Feels like the best spot on the site to ask right now would be off topic. I remember seeing a PC hardware article in XDA News a while back, so makes me wonder if there will be PC forums in the future (but I don't see any when I just looked).
Hope this helps, closing the thread now to avoid any confusion from others. Thanks.
