I have an HTC Milestone (Israel, Cellcom), which I just flashed with a port of Cyanogen 6, however as it was a US rom, I've lost use of the Hebrew/English keyboard.
I was wondering how I could go about extracting the Keyboard files from the old rom, so I could repackage it and install it in the new one?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Would anyone be able to strip a file from the OEM rom?
I need the TIInit_4_2_38.bts file (not the hotfix one) but the OEM one that came with the stock rom?
I am trying to get this script to work with the HTC Dream HERO build. This might solve the BT issues its been having. If anyone can provide me with some assistance it would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
(I do not own a TyTN or Kaiser type device, if i did i would flash it and rip the file)
Do a search for a application called rom image editor and grab the file out of the nbh with this.

Ok guys, I was a little tired of copying again and again my slide hardware keyboard layout files for the G1 in every ROM I flashed using terminal.
So I made a little zip file that you can patch right after your favourite ROM directly from recovery.
This patch will work (I've tested it) on every Android version from 1.5 to current 2.2, be it official or cooked ROM (tested it on KingXClick, CM, Cannon at least).
Just copy the attached file to your sd-card root and flash it out from recovery after flashing your ROM-of-choice.
Cheers!!!
Hello All,
I have a chinese Android phone model e1060 running 2.2.1 I can't tell you what make it is because I don't know !!! It has a built in QWERTY keyboard
that I want to change how it works. I have read that I have to modify the .bin
file in the /system/usr/keychars directory, but there are 3 files, mt6516-kpd.kcm.bin qwerty.kcm.bin and qwerty2.kcm.bin I have already rooted
the phone. Is there a way to determine which of these files I need to modify?
Thanks in advance,
Dave.
Hey people,
The site hosting the roms for the Ascend Y300 has been down for over 16 hours, and the only rom I have on my hard drive has a corrupt keyboard file (LatinIME.apk).
What I will do, if one of you could help me out, is extract the contents of the rom .zip, go to \system\app\, swap the .apk and re-zip it, then flash the rom. I need to get my phone up and running urgently and do not know when the rom file server will be back online.
Could a kind soul extract the LatinIME.apk from a Cyanogenmod 10.2 .zip and send it to me?
Thanks so much (I will click the "thanks" button as well ),

Or perhaps the vanilla JB LatinIME.apk

Or any advice to make a pac file convert to zip file using android since I don't have a pc.. thanks for anyone who can help me, it is much appreciated..
