[Q] Support for *xxx*x# numbers - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys, Sorry If I am in the wrong section but I am looking for some help, To check my balance my network (2 degrees an nz network) requires you to call *100#*1 it then sends a message to your phone with your balance. Alternatively I can call *100# then a menu pops up and asks me to either input 1 for balance or 2 for topup. Once I input 1 and press ok I get USSS error service not supported. I am looking for a way to get around this. So i have a few questions.
1. Is there a patch for this available for windows mobile 6.5?
2. Would this type of message count as an mms? Because I do not have that set up.
3. Are There any applications that will work on my device to keep track of balance? (customizable pricing etc.)
Phone info:
Acer Betouch E101 running WIndows mobile 6.5
WQVGA
Thanks for any help.
Also yes I have tried speaking to 2 degrees, They weren't too helpful.

Problems with USSD queries: Answer disappears immediately

Hello there!
I have a HTC Diamond, currently running Dazza's 6.1 final, but I can reproduce my problem with other Roms I tried the last days, too. So this is
a) a windows mobile issue
b) an O2-Germany (my provider) issue.
The problem:
With *104# I can query the status of my booked addons, for example remaining free SMS or remaining internet traffic.
When I call *104# there comes up a menu where I choose '1' to go to status information. After that I can select my packet ('1' or '2'), after that I have to enter '1' to get to detailed information. The detailed information is just an info-popup from Windows Mobile (not the USSD menu window from before) which closes/hides itself within 0.5 seconds or even faster - I cannot read anything on it.
Anyone has an idea what to do? Is there perhaps a custom USSD application? (I did not find one). Or maybe some other person who can try this out? I have O2O prepaid, when you have postpaid this seems not to work (some friends of mine tried...)
I captured a small video to show the problem:
http://www.matthias-larisch.de/handy.avi (1,5 MB, Mpeg1, 240*320, [email protected])
Thank you for help!
Matthias
I just wanted to add that "normal" status queries (*101# for prepaid value for example) work. I get the result in a popup as the one that is disappearing in the video, but it stays until I press okay.
Any ideas? Thank you

[solved] Problem with Contacts and International Country Codes

So Ive been using my HTC Ozone (6.5 Standard, 3VO rom) for a while in israel, and the way the cellular network works is as follows:
country code is +972
the number that shows up on an incoming call is 052-555-5555.
The number that shows up on an incoming text is +972-52-555-5555.
The number that shows up on an outgoing call when dialing without the country code (aka 052-555-5555) is +972-052-555-5555.
All of these differences mean that if I have a number saved in the contact manager (in only one of the above forms), it isnt displayed 2/3rds of the time. If i send a text to ME(052-555-5555), the reply comes back from an unsaved number, in a new thread is +972-52-555-5555.
Is there a way for me to just save the base number (052-555-5555), and have the phone's contact manager realize that its the same number is the +92 equivalent? My current workround is saving all the forms of a number to a contact, but 1. its tedium to go through all my contacts and do this, and 2. you can only save so many numbers to a contact, which means im screwed if the contact has two different numbers.
I see all these fields in the "current country" setting, but I have no idea what they mean, or if that is even the solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hey , i got the same problem on my Omnia 2 with windows mobile version 6.5
The local incoming call won't show the country code, and sms does the opposite way.
check through all my phone setting, can not find any related option for this.
Thanks for anyone can provide a resolution.
i just resolved my problem. hope this way can help you as well.
get a regedit software on your windows mobile phone.
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Phone
under it, you should able to see a key name "CallIdMatch", change the value to maybe 8 or 9, which means it will match the last 8 or 9 numbers for each incoming call or sms. (use decimal) after the changing, reboot your phone.
Wow, it worked!!
Thanks a lot man!
thanks for the tip jason_ma!
i was also wondering about it.
Anyone know how to edit CalIidMatch an an HTC hero

[Req] Phone number dialer-upper

Hi all. I have an HTC HD2 in the UK on Orange which gives me billions of free minutes - great for me to use for my business calls. At least it would be if it wasn't for the pain of having to read every number from Outlook or my browser and punch it into my phone by hand.
Is there a bit of software out there that will allow me to dial through my usb or BlueTooth connected phone from my Win7(32) PC? Perhaps from the clipboard or a context menu. If it uses my PC mic/speakers as a hands-free that's also a bonus, but not essential.
All my searches on the subject return info on VOIP etc, which I'm not looking for
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Cheers!

Bump, Anybody?
it's not *100#*1 , but *100*1#.
so the # will only be present once, at the end of the number.. before any option you enter *.... you can call numbers like *100*1*3*2*1#
that's the equivalent of calling *100#, then choosing option 1... waiting... choosing option 3... waiting... etc, you get the drill
Yes sorry you are right. However when I call this number it still doesn't work =(

[Q] Cannot read USSD messages

hello,
1st, sorry to bother with a new thread (as per the video)
2nd, i have just got an Acer neotouch S200, i like it, but i have two problems so far. (i live in Cairo, Egypt, and this phone uses the Etisalat network)
1) i cant read the service messages that are sent from my service provider (it sends me cost details of calls, remaining balance..etc), and it is currently displayed as a USSD type with the same notification every time " USSD Transmission Ended ".
i found a USSD type changer in the settings, but it has only 4 versions, none of them worked, i tried
is there a way to read these messages normally?
2) is there a way to switch last name/first name in the phone book? because it displays last name 1st, and we do not use that system here in Egypt.
the system currently used is EN-AR 1.003d
the CPU is a QUALCOMM, type QSD8250
thank you in advance for your time, hopefully i`ll get an answer..
