Double Tap Home Launch Function Not Working on QuickDesk - Android Apps and Games

In the most recent software update by Motorola, the double tap home launch function has been overridden. Therefore, QuickDesk will not be able to perform as expected on most Motorola Android Phones.

Double Tap Home Launch Options:
Taken from http://droidbar.net/2010/09/double-tap-home-launch-function-not-working-on-quickdesk/

However, workarounds are available at http://droidbar.net/2010/09/workarounds-for-quickdesk-double-tap-home-launch-function/
Workaround 1: Tap on the Search key and hold on to it until QuickDesk launches.
Workaround 2: Check on “Swap Home Action” and Tap on your Home key to launch QuickDesk.
Workaround 3: Change “300″ milliseconds to “700″ milliseconds, Select “Set” and Double Tap on your Home key with approximately ½ second interval in between to launch QuickDesk.
Workaround 4 (Motorola Rooted Phones Only): Select an application which you rarely use in "Double tap home launch". For example, “Voice search”. Freeze it using Titanium Backup PRO and Double Tap on your Home key to launch QuickDesk.

I'd be more inclined to believe this if Dialer were correctly spelled....

Editing the glacier-keypad.kl file

When we open up this file in text editor, is it possible to direct the camera hardware key to open up a different camera app?
They have it in the development section to make the Genius button open up Google Search, I'm trying to make the Camera button open up Camera360.. Any ideas on what to replace key 211/ key 212 with?

Can't you setup the camera button from the application defaults when you first press the camera button? Like home replacement apps, when you press home button, the set as default comes out. Check the application menu from the settings.
Yep. It's set as that but it only opens up Camera360 when a third-party application calls for a camera app and not when pressing the phone's hardware camera button.
I found an app called "Button Shortcut" that allows me to set any app for the camera button to open up, so that's perfect. I basically wanted to do it without requiring an app though, because it seems that the glacier-keypad.kl file is the file to edit (you just have to know what to write, which I don't lol)..

[APP] "Home2 Shortcut" + "Simi Folder" Setup

I thought this was a pretty cool setup for those of us who need some more homescreen space but still want a clean look.
"Home2 Shortcut" found here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut
Plus "Simi Folder" found here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.th.android.widget.SiMiFolder
You can setup a folder in Simi Folder, then open Home2 and assign that folder to a certain button sequence.. For example, double home, home + menu, long press search..and a few others.
It opens very quickly and i have no issues with it. I love the added functionality and thought I would share.

Thanks for the tip! I'm an avid user of Simi folder, and this adds yet another great function to it. I would like to use double-tap menu-menu or back-back or search-search. Do you know if this can be done, or if its limited to the options given in Home2?
I'm afraid it does not.. It allows for double home, home menu, home back, and long press search combinations. I agree tho, double back or menu would be nice options to have, but the double home is good enough.

Anyone successfully modified touch button behavior?

So lollipop standard behavior of the touch buttons is shoddy to say the least. The recent apps pane is utterly useless, for starters, and I never use the dual window feature.
I'm looking for a way to modify two behaviors: I'd like for my "square" button to function as the menu key upon short press, and a long press of the back button to kill the current app. Obviously I accomplished this in the past on the original G Flex using Gravity Box, but without a working method to install Xposed, I don't see this happening in the near future.
Has anyone had any luck mucking around with system files to change the behavior of the buttons?
im trying to add a menu button as well
GravityBox is working on 5.1.1, XPosedv74 SDK22.
not all GB function is working on G Flex2 , but function to assign a special action to the Nav key is working. eg i'm using double tap Home to take screenshot, double tap Recent to sleep etc.

[Guide] Fix fake storage on Xgody phones so real storage is reported in system.

Note - I am using an Xgody Y28 for this, steps may be slightly different depending on your model.
Step 1 - Download and install Nova Launcher. Either sideload the apk or use Play Store. We'll need Nova launcher's ability to launch activities in order to get to the hidden setup menu on the phone's ROM.
Step 2 - Once Nova is the default launcher, touch and hold on the desktop and hit widgets. From the widgets menu, drag and drop an "activities" widget onto the desktop

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
Step 3 - In the following menu that pops up, scroll down till you see the listing for "FeaturesMenu". Tap on it to expand the list of activities,
and select ".FeaturesPageActivity".
Step 4 - A new icon should now be on the desktop, which when tapped on should take you into the Features Page menu. There, you can change everything to "Real" and then hit the "complete setup and reboot" button.
