[APP] "Home2 Shortcut" + "Simi Folder" Setup - HTC Sensation

I thought this was a pretty cool setup for those of us who need some more homescreen space but still want a clean look.
"Home2 Shortcut" found here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut
Plus "Simi Folder" found here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.th.android.widget.SiMiFolder
You can setup a folder in Simi Folder, then open Home2 and assign that folder to a certain button sequence.. For example, double home, home + menu, long press search..and a few others.
It opens very quickly and i have no issues with it. I love the added functionality and thought I would share.

Thanks for the tip! I'm an avid user of Simi folder, and this adds yet another great function to it. I would like to use double-tap menu-menu or back-back or search-search. Do you know if this can be done, or if its limited to the options given in Home2?

I'm afraid it does not.. It allows for double home, home menu, home back, and long press search combinations. I agree tho, double back or menu would be nice options to have, but the double home is good enough.

Disable honeycomb?

Hi,
Is there a way to have the icons in the Start menu lined-up horizontally and vertically? Now, by default, they are arranged hexagonally
i would also like to know about this
Yep:

Maybe I didn't make myself clear
What I mean is shown below:
Currently Start menu looks like
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
, but I would like to have something like
This would be preferable.
OK, I'v found something. A small configurable application called XTask, download link here.
Btw, if you don't know where to start, just click on the taskbar and drag the line down. The XTask Settings allow you to configure its internal menu and also replace the Start Menu entirely with its own diagonal icon layout. It arranges icons by same strange order, probably like the original Start Menu, but maybe I'll find how to change that.
Alternatively in its settings set it so its file manager starts when clicking the Start Menu icon and browse to Windows\Start Menu\Programs directory. It is normally alphabetically sorted and you can arrange shortcuts to various subfolders. It can be even more easily done with Total Commander or from PC.
And for phone settings click on Control.

Editing the glacier-keypad.kl file

When we open up this file in text editor, is it possible to direct the camera hardware key to open up a different camera app?
They have it in the development section to make the Genius button open up Google Search, I'm trying to make the Camera button open up Camera360.. Any ideas on what to replace key 211/ key 212 with?

Can't you setup the camera button from the application defaults when you first press the camera button? Like home replacement apps, when you press home button, the set as default comes out. Check the application menu from the settings.
Yep. It's set as that but it only opens up Camera360 when a third-party application calls for a camera app and not when pressing the phone's hardware camera button.
I found an app called "Button Shortcut" that allows me to set any app for the camera button to open up, so that's perfect. I basically wanted to do it without requiring an app though, because it seems that the glacier-keypad.kl file is the file to edit (you just have to know what to write, which I don't lol)..

Ahh - I assume this does NOT work on stock, eh?
I'm liking the Infuse as my first stock phone, and slowly but inexorably feeling the pull over tot he dark side of rooting, modifying and ultra-customizing!
stock or whatever doesn't matter for this, it's just a tweak for touchwiz

[HOW-TO]Remap Search Button to Anything!

The famous ButtonRemapper is not working on ICS! Not on stock, not on cm9, not on SkyICS! It did work on GB.
I asked before in the forum but sadly none responded me so I did some experiments.
Basically all you have to do is to change the Generic.kl located under /system/usr/keylayout. You open it as a txt and change the line "key 217 SEARCH" to whatever you like (change the "SEARCH" part only). Here are some common ones: POWER, APP_SWITCH (recent apps), CAMERA.
After that save the file and reboot. It should work.
ps. I think why ButtonRemapper doesn't work is because it falsely saves changes to fluid-keypad.kl, a different file under the same directory as Generic.kl. I could be wrong.
I'm using button remaper on my JB port and its working fine.

Just to be clear this does not assign an app to long press search but to give a function. For example if you assign power to the search button when you press it it turns off your screen and when you long press it the power menu pops up.

Home Screen Tile Layouts? -- Whats Your's?

Saw a few good example's of this on other forums within XDA, Thought it'd be a good idea to get one going. Might as well get stuck in with my first post as well!
Here's mine to begin with.
What app did you use to get an image of your phones screen?
its built into Windows Phone 8, you press the Windows/Home Button and the power button at the same time and then it takes the picture, go to your photo's and it will be there in the folder "screenshots"

That exact way above! - Then used an app called 'Phototastic' and stitched everything together.
moved to general, not dev related.
